Abstract
453,270. Cathode-ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. Dec. 8, 1934, No. 19201/36. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1933. Divided out of 453,223. [Class 39 (i)] A cathode-ray tube for television or amplifying comprises cylinders 27, 28 which have different lengths, and different potentials and are used to direct the electrons from a cathode 21 on to an aperture which is located in a diaphragm 4 and is adapted to be reproduced by electron-optical systems, e.g. of the kind described in Specification 453,223. The indirectly-heated cathode may consist of a spot of oxide sunk into metal which is ground flat. Each cylinder may be replaced by a pair of parallel plates which may be supplemented by metal members to form boxes. The diameters of the cylinders may be equal to, or different from, each other and the length of the cylinder 28 should be equal at least to twice that of the cylinder 27. An anode 26 may be connected to the cylinder 27 and the diaphragm 4 may be connected to the cylinder 28. A control grid 29 is arranged as closely as possible to the cathode. The electrodes may be assembled and centred by means described in Specification 435,382. The members 4, 26 may be secured by glass rods 31 or glass tubes which house the leading-in wires. Values of the potentials on the electrodes and dimensions are contained in the Specification. Specification 442,511 also is referred to.
