Abstract
499,532. Cathode-ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HOBDAY, J. G. Nov. 15, 1937, No. 31333. [Class 39 (i)] In cathode-ray or like tube, the indirectly - heated cylindrical cathode 1 is accurately located relatively to the modulating electrode 4, 5 by means of a rigid clip-shaped member 7 attached to the cathode at its end 8 remote from the emissive portion 3 and aligned and spaced relatively to the modulating electrode by one or more insulating washers 11 engaging the conical flare 9, and one or more insulating spacers 10. The washer 11 is forced against the flare 9 by a tubular member 12 which is finally secured by a wire 13 to the electrode 4. The member 7 has holes 18, 19 to facilitate evacuation.
