Abstract

113,915. Watson, G. W. Aug. 20, 1917. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor having a main and a pilot nozzle, the pilot nozzle k is located in the conical base of a hollow sliding piston throttle-valve g and is so located that, when the throttle is closed, the pilot nozzle is seated on the main nozzle d. The fuel then issues into the interior of the throttle valve g, is mixed with air entering by a port l and controlled by a valve m, and the mixture issues through a port n in the wall of the valve to the induction pipe q. The throttle valve is actuated by a Bowden wire h, is loaded by a spring i and is prevented from rotating by a pin j engaging a slot therein. The main air supply enters through ports o.
