Abstract
19,977. Giltay, N. Sept. 7. Spray carburettors. - A manually - actuated piston 14 controls simultaneously the primary air inlets 18, the mixture outlet 5 and, by means of two parallel bars 17, the number of fuel nozzles in action. The nozzles 9, 9<1>, &c. are each controlled by a spring-loaded ball valve which can be opened by the raised surfaces of the bars 17. Each nozzle body has fuel orifices 10, below which are smaller orifices 10<1> for air. The nozzle 9 is opened before the primary air ports 18, the air being then supplied wholly through an automatic valve 19. A suctionactuated valve 20 prevents petrol from flowing when suction ceases.
