Abstract

14,841. Mack, J. R. June 20. Spray carburettors.-Oil from a storage tank passes to a chamber 15, and thence to a valved pipe 12 on which several nozzles 19 are mounted, the pipe being wider than, and parallel to, the air-inlet 9 so that the air current is split up. The number of nozzles in action, and the opening of the air inlet are simultaneously controlled by a rod 16 and a flat plate 11, one nozzle opening before the air inlet begins to be uncovered. A dome-shaped chamber 23 assists in mixing the air and oil. The nozzles are formed with an orifice at the top and two at the sides. The air supply may also be controlled by the valve 4.
