Abstract

Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor having a main straight-through passage g controlled by a manuallyactuated piston throttle valve b, additional air is admitted to the straight-through passage through a port d and a conduit f in the throttle valve, the amount of air admitted being controlled by a manuallyactuated piston valve e. Primary air enters at h and flows past the nozzle a through a restricted aperture i. A baffle j is provided on the air-inlet side of the throttle valve. In a modification, the nozzle is of the submerged type and discharges into a chamber which is open to the atmosphere through an aperture controlled by a valve actuated from the throttle valve b. The Provisional Specification states that the additional air supply may be controlled by a rotatable shut. ter, a sliding or hinged cap, an automatic valve, or by a laterally expanding and contracting piston.
