Abstract
Un proceso para reemplazar una capa inicial de revestimiento más exterior de una lente óptica revestida con una capa de un nuevo revestimiento final que tiene propiedades superficiales diferentes de las de dicho revestimiento inicial más exterior que comprende: (a) proporcionar una lente óptica revestida que tiene una capa inicial de revestimiento más exterior que tiene un ángulo de contacto superficial con agua de al menos 65º; (b) someter la capa inicial de revestimiento más exterior a un tratamiento con especies químicas activadas aproximadamente a presión atmosférica y durante menos de un minuto con el fin de obtener una superficie tratada que tiene un ángulo de contacto con el agua de 10º o menos; y (c) depositar en dicha superficie tratada una capa de un revestimiento final que tiene propiedades superficiales diferentes de las de dicha capa inicial de revestimiento más exterior.
