SEGUN ESTE PROCESO, LA REACCION EN LA QUE SE PONE EN CONTACTO ALUMINA, CARBONO Y UNA RESINA QUE GENERA CARBONO POR PIROLISIS, SE EFECTUA EN UN REACTOR METODICO. EL REACTOR COMPRENDE ESENCIALMENTE UN TUBO PRINCIPAL (1), UN DOSIFICADOR (2) QUE SIRVE PARA ALIMENTAR EL REACTOR, UN COLECTOR DE GASES DE ACHICAMIENTO (3) Y UNA SONDA (4) QUE FIJA EL NIVEL DE LLENADO DEL REACTOR. LA PARTE CENTRAL DEL TUBO ES VENTAJOSAMENTE CALENTADA POR INDUCCION ELECTROMAGNETICA.
