Es. wurde gefunden, daß durch geringe Mengen von Gemischen aus Phenol oder dessen Homologen mit stickstoffhaltigen organischen Basen oder Gemischen dieser das Netz- und Durchdringungsvermögen von Alkalisierungsflüssigkeiten gesteigert werden kann. Dies zeigt sich z. B. darin, daß es leicht gelingt, rohe unentschlichtete - Baumwollgewebe oder -garne ohne vorherige Bäuche einwandfrei zu meroerisieren, während die Lauge ohne diese Zusätze kaum eindringt und ein gleichmäßiger Effekt nicht zu. erhalten wäre. .
In der Patentschrift 393781 ist bereits die vorteilhafte Wirkung von Zusätzen heterocyclischer Basen als Netzmittel für Behandlungsbäder, z. B. auch Mercerisierlaugen, beschrieben.
Die Wirksamkeit der neuen Zusätze ist jedoch, mit jener dieser Basen verglichen, bedeutend größer und überraschend, weil es bis jetzt nicht bekannt war, daß Stoffe, wie Anilin, Pyridinbasen, Hydrazine usw., selbst in so geringen Mengen angewendet, als Netzmittel dienen können. Im besonderen ließ sich diese Wirkung im stark alkalischen Medium, worin diese Basen besonders schwer löslich sind, nicht erwarten. Pyridin z. B. ist in Wasser allerdings leicht löslich; höhere aliphatische, die aromatischen Amine und die Hydrazine sind aber darin schwer löslich, weshalb mit diesen keine technisch nutzbare Erhöhung des Netzvermögens erzielt werden kann. In Mercerisierlaugen aber ist selbst das in Wasser unbeschränkt lösliche Pyridin sehr schwer löslieh, aromatische Amine, Hydrazine usw. sogar praktisch unlöslich, so daß die Erhöhung der Netzfähigkeit kaum wahrnehmbar, jedenfalls aber ganz ungenügend ist.
Es ist ferner bereits vorgeschlagen worden, den Mercerisierlaugen zur Erhöhung des Netz- und Durchdringungsvermögens Phenole zuzusetzen. Durch solche Zusätze wird die Oberflächenspannung in der Tat erniedrigt, ohne daß aber die Netzfähigkeit für rohe Baumwollgewebe und -garne genügend gesteigert wird.
Setzt man den Laugen jedoch Gemische aus stickstoffhaltigen organischen Basen und ■ Phenolen zu, so wird dadurch das Netzvermögen in ganz unerwarteter Weise gesteigert, so daß schon durch sehr geringe Zusätze der neuen Mischungen eine Wirkung erzielt wird, welche selbst mit größeren Mengen der Basen allein bzw. Phenolen allein nicht erreicht werden kann.
Als stickstoffhaltige organische Basen eignen sich z. B. primäre, sekundäre oder tertiäre Amino-, Aminoalkoxy- oder quaternäre Ammoniumverbindungen sowie deren Derivate mit ein oder mehreren aliphatisch gebundenen Hydroxylgruppen, Alkyl-, Aralkyl- oder Arylhydrazine sowie heterocyclische Basen, welche Stickstoff als Heteroatom enthalten. Solche
Verbindungen sind beispielsweise Benzylamin, Anilin, Phenyltrimethylammoniummethylsulfat, Triäthanolamin, Phenetidin, Phenylhydrazin, Pyrrol, Pyridin, Chinolin; An Stelle der stickstoffhaltigen Basen können auch ihre Salze verwendet werden.
Als Phenole eignen sich z. B. Phenol, Kresole, Kresolgemische sowie deren Homologe.
Zur Ausführung des Verfahrens eignen sich ίο am besten Gemische aus 98 bis 60 o/o Phenolen und insgesamt 2 bis 40 0/0 der genannten Verbindungen oder ihrer Gemische. Damit soll nicht gesagt sein, daß. Mischungen mit weniger als 60 0/0 Phenolgehalt unwirksam seien; ebenso können selbstverständlich statt der fertigen Gemische auch deren Bestandteile einzeln in beliebiger Reihenfolge den Laugen zugesetzt werden.

Einer Mercerisierlauge von 320 Be werden 1,17 Gewichtsprozent eines Gemisches aus 90 o/o techn. Teerkresolen und 10 o/0 Anilin zugesetzt, wodurch diese die Fähigkeit erlangt, rohe unentschlichtete Baumwollgewebestücke oder stark gezwirnte Rohgarne so vollkommen, zu durchdringen, daß sie innerhalb weniger Sekunden untersinken und sehr rasch und intensiv einschrumpfen.
Beispiels
Zu einer Mercerisierlauge von 350Be werden 1,14 Gewichtsprozent einer Mischung aus 80 o/o techn. Kresol und 20 o/o techn. TriäthanolaminN(CH2-CH3OH)3zugefügt. Die klare Lauge netzt rohe unentschlichtete Gewebestücke und Garne innerhalb weniger Sekunden durch, so daß diese untersinken und sehr, rasch einschrumpfen.
Beispiel 3
Einer Mercerisierlauge von 25° Bd werden 2 Gewichtsprozent einer Mischung aus 85 o/o techn. Teerkresolen und 15 0/0 Phenyltrimethylammoniummethylsulfat
Cn H5—N — 0 —S O2 — O CH3
zugesetzt. Rohe Baumwollgewebe werden von der klaren Lauge so rasch durchdrungen, daß sie fast sofort untertauchen.
Beispiel 4
Einer Natronlauge von 200 Be werden 1,3 Gewichtsprozent einer Mischung aus 70 0/0 techn. Teerkresol und 30 o/o Pyridin zugefügt und die Zeiten gemessen, nach denen auf die Flüssigkeitsoberfläche gelegte lufttrockene, gebleichte oder ungebleichte Rohzellstoffolien sich mit Lauge so vollgesaugt haben, daß. sie untersinken. Es zeigt sich, daß der gebleichte Zellstoff etwa doppelt, der ungebleichte etwa viermal rascher von der Flüssigkeit durchtränkt wird ,als beim Versuch mit einer gleichen Lauge ohne Netzmittelzusatz. Gewebe oder Filz aus tierischen Fasern werden ebenfalls viel rascher und gleichmäßiger durchdrungen als von der Vergleichslauge.

Claims (2)

Patentansprüche:
1. Verfahren zur Erhöhung der Netzfähigkeit von Mercerisierlaugen, gekennzeichnet durch die gleichzeitige Verwendung von Phenolen und stickstoffhaltigen organischen Basen in der Weise, daß den Mercerisierlaugen die genannten Stoffe entweder einzeln in beliebiger Reihenfolge oder als fertige Gemische zugesetzt werden.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch die Verwendung von Gemischen aus etwa 60 bis 98 0/0 Phenolen und 2 bis 40 o/o stickstoffhaltigen organischen Basen, von welchen der Lauge etwa o,S bis 2 0/0 zugesetzt werden.
