Als Säuren HY kommen vor allem die starken Mineralsäuren wie HCl
und H2SO. in Betracht. Doch können die Verbindungen der Formel I
Salze auch mit anderen starken Säuren wie HBr, H3PO4, HClO4, HNO3
u.a. bilden, wobei für zweibasige Säuren m = 1/2 sein kann.
X bedeutet bevorzugt Sauerstoff.
Einige Verbindungen der Formel I sowie Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung
sind literaturbekannt (DT-PS 116.236, Rocz.Chem. £9, 2129 (1975)), die meisten Verbindungen sind jedoch neu und lassen sich nach analogen
Verfahren herstellen (J.Org.Chem. 2Ji, 832 (1964)).

Die Verbindungen der Formel I besitzen eine sehr gute, und sehr
breite herbizide Wirksamkeit gegen zahlreiche monokotyle und dikotyle,
einjährige und mehrjährige Unkräuter vieler botanischer Familien. Diese Eigenschaft der Wirksamkeit gegen die verschiedensten
Unkrautarten, die meist vergesellschaftet vorkommen, eröffnet die Möglichkeit, die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen zur
Bekämpfung unerwünschten Pflanzenwuchses einzusetzen, z.B. an Wegrändern, in Industrieanlagen oder Eisenbahnanlagen oder gegen
Wasserpflanzen. Die Verbindungen können aber auch mit Vorteil in ein- oder mehrjährigen landwirtschaftlichen Kulturen eingesetzt
werden, insbesondere wenn durch die Art der Applikation und/oder das Alter der Kulturpflanzen sichergestellt ist, daß die Kulturpflanzen
bzw. ihre empfindlichen Teile nicht mit den herbiziden Substanzen in Berührung kommen und damit keinen Schaden nehmen.
Beispiele dafür sind Plantagen, Baumkulturen, Rebanlagen u.dergl.

Da eine Anwendung in Nutzkulturen vor dem Auf lauf en den Kulturpflanzen
nur geringen oder keinen Schaden zufügt, kann man sie gegen Unkräuter noch vor dem Auflaufen der Saat bzw· vor
der Aussaat oder nach der Ernte einsetzen. Sie sind aber auch gegen bei der Ernte störenden Pflanzenwuchs
der Nutzpflanze selbst einsetzbar (Baumwolle, Kartoffeln).
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist daher auch die Verwendung der
Verbindungen der Formel I zur Unkrautbekämpfung.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Mittel enthalten die Wirkstoffe gemäß der
allgemeinen Formel I zu 2 -. 95 %. Da die Wirkstoffe zum Teil wasserlöslich sind, können sie vorteilhaft als wäßrige Lösungen
eingesetzt werden. Andernfalls können als emulgierbare Konzentrate, benetzbare Pulver und versprühbare
Lösungen in den üblichen Zubereitungsformen angewendet werden,
sofern sie nicht selbst wasserlöslich sind. Benetzbare Pulver sind in Wasser gleichmäßig dispergierbare
Präparate, die neben dem Wirkstoff außer einem Verdünnungsoder Inertstoff noch Netzmittel, z.b. polyoxäthylierte Alkylphenole,
polyoxäthylierte Oleyl- oder Stearylamine, Alkyl-
oder Alkylphenyl-sulfonate und Dispergiermittel, z.B. ligninsulfonsaures
Natrium, 2,2'-dinaphthylinethan-6,6'-disulf onsaures
Natrium, dibutylnaphthalinsulfonsaures Natrium oder auch oleylmethyltaurinsaures Natrium enthalten.
Emulgierbare Konzentrate v;erden durch Auflösen des Wirkstoffes
in einem organischen Lösungsmittel, z.B. Butanol, Cyclohexanon, Xylol oder auch höhersiedenden Aromaten erhalten.
Um in V.asser gute Suspensionen oder Emulsionen zu erreichen,
werden weiterhin Netzmittel aus der obengenannten Reihe zugesetzt.
Versprühbare Lösungen, v;ie sie vielfach in Sprühdosen gehandelt werden, enthalten den Wirkstoff in einem organischen

Lösungsmittel gelöst, daneben befindet sich z.B. als Treibmittel ein Gemisch von Fluorchlorkohlenwasserstoffen.
Bei herbiziden Mitteln können die Konzentrationen der Wirkstoffe
in den handelsüblichen Formulierungen verschieden sein. In benetzbaren Pulvern variiert die Wirkstoffkonzentration
z.B. zwischen etwa 10 $> und 80 #, der Rest besteht aus den
oben angegebenen Formulierungszusätzen. Bei emulgierbaren Konzentraten ist die Wirkstoffkonzentration etwa 10 £ bis
60 %.
Zur Anwendung werden die handelsüblichen Konzentrate gegebenenfalls
in üblicher Weise verdünnt, z.B. bei benetzbaren Pulvern und emulgierbaren Konzentraten mittels Wasser. Versprühbare
Lösungen werden vor der Anwendung nicht mehr mit weiteren inerten Stoffen verdünnt. Mit den äußeren Bedingungen wie
Temperatur, Feuchtigkeit u.a. variiert die erforderliche Aufwandmenge. Sie kann in weiten Grenzen schwanken, z.B. zwischen
0,1 kg/ha und 10 kg/ha iUctivsubstanz, liegt jedoch vorzugsweise
zwischen 0,3 und 3 kg/ha.

B (0,164 Mol) Methyl-vinyl-phosphinsäureäthylester und 35 g
(0,161 Mol) Acetaminomalonsäurediäthylester v/erden zusammen
auf 8O0C erwärmt und nach Entfernen des Heizbades mit 3 - 5 ml einer 2 £igen äthanolischen Natriuniäthylatlösung versetzt.
Nach wenigen Minuten steigt die Reaktionstemperatür auf
90° -95 0C ah. Nach dem Abklingen der exothermen Reaktion wird
noch ca. 4 Stunden bei 80°-850C nachgerührt.
Das ölige Reaktionsprodukt wird mit 500 ml 25 ^iger Salzsäure,
versetzt und 6 Stunden unter Rückfluß erwärmt. Nach dem Eindampfen
der Reaktionslösung unter Vakuum bleiben 38 g (92 £ d.
Th.) /T3-Amino-3-carboxy)-propyl-l7-mGthyl-phosphinsäurehydrochlorid
zurück. Das Produkt schmilzt bei 194°-198°C unter Zersetzung (Lit. Fp.: 195°-198°C, DL 116.236).
Beispiel 2;

/73-Amino-3-carbo;xyl--propyl''-l7-inethylphosphinsäure
Zu einer Lösung von 220 g (1,01 Moll ^73-Amino -3-carboxy)-propyl~l7
methylphosphinsäure-hydrochlorid in 1,2 1 80 %-igem Äthanol werden
bei ca. 25° C 120 g (2,07 Mol) Propylenoxid getropft. Die Reaktionstemperatur
wird währenddes Zutropfens auf ca. 25 - 30° C gehalten. Anschließend wird die Reaktionslösung auf 0° C abgekühlt. Nach ca.
3-4 Stunden saugt man den kristallinen Niederschlag ab, wäscht mit 94 %-igem Äthanol nach und trocknet das Produkt bei 100° C
im Vakuumschrank. Man erhält 163 g (89 % d.Th.)/73-Amino-3-carboxy)-propyl-27-methylphosphinsäure.
Die Aminosäure schmilzt bei 229 231° C (Lit.: 241 - 242° C, ROCZ,Chem. ££, 2129 (1975)) unter Zersetzung

In eine Aufschlämmung von 100 g (0,46 Mol) /73-Amino-3-carboxy)-propyl-iy-methylphosphinsäure-hydrochlorid
in 500 ml Methanol
wird Chlorwasserstoff eingeleitet. Die Temperatur steigt dabei
auf 60° C an, und es entsteht eine klare Lösung. Man läßt
1 Stunde bei 60° C nachrühren, dampft das Methanol unter Vakuum ab, versetzt den Rückstand mit 300 ml frischem Methanol und
leitet nochmals 4 Stunden Chlorwasserstoff durch die Reaktionslösung. Nach dem Eindampfen wird der Rückstand in 150 ml Methanol aufgenommen, und das Lösungsmittel erneut abdestilliert. Dieser Arbeitsgang wird noch zweimal wiederholt. Der Rückstand wird
schließlich in 500 ml Methanol aufgenommen und mit so viel Propylenoxid versetzt, bis in der Lösung keine Chloridionen mehr

(78 % d.Th,) Methylester, der nicht ab 105° C zersetzt.
Beispiel 5a;

/73-Amino-3-carboäthoxy)-propyl-2?-niethylphosphinsäure-hydrochlorid
In eine Aufschlämmung von 21,75 g (0,1 Mol) /J3-Amino-3-carboxy)-propyl-2/~niethylphosphinsäure-hydrochlorid
in 100 ml Äthanol wird Chlorwasserstoffgas eingeleitet. Die Reaktionstemperatur steigt
dabei auf 74° C an. Man läßt noch 1 Stunde bei dieser Temperatur nachrühren. Anschließend wird das überschüssige Äthanol abgezogen,
der Rückstand mit 100 ml frischem Äthanol versetzt und nochmals 4 Stunden Chlorwasserstoffgas bei 75° C durch die Reaktionslösung
geleitet. Danach filtriert man von ungelösten Anteilen ab, dampft das Lösungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck ab
und trocknet den Rückstand im ölpumpenvakuum. Man erhält 21 g (85 % d.Th.) Äthyleeterhydrochlorid. Das Produkt ist glasartig
und stark hygroskopisch, so daß ein Schmelzpunkt nicht bestimmt werden konnte.
Beispiel 6;
^73-Amino-3-carbamido)-propyl-iy-n»ethylphosphinsäure
^73-Amino-3-carbamido)-propyl-iy-n»ethylphosphinsäure
15 g (0,768) ^T3-Amino-3-carbomethoxy) -propyl-iy-methylphosphinsäure
werden in einem Druckkolben unter Eiskühlung mit 100 ml einer mit Ammoniakgas gesättigten Methanollösung versetzt. Das
Reaktionsgemisch wird 4 Tage bei Raumtemperatur gechüttelt. Anschließend destilliert man das Lösungsmittel und den überschüssigen
Ammoniak ab und trocknet den Rückstand im Ölpumpenvakuum. Man erhält
12 g (87 % d.Th.) /73-Amino-3-carbamido)-propyl-1.7-methylphosphinsäure
die bei 245° C unter Zersetzung schmilzt.

Beispiel 7;
^T3-Amino-3-carbanilido)-propyl-27-roethylphosphinsäure
^T3-Amino-3-carbanilido)-propyl-27-roethylphosphinsäure
19,5 g (0,1 mol) ^Ts-Amino-S-carbomethoxy) -propyl-iy-methylphosphinsäure
werden mit 30 g (0,32 Mol) Anilin vermengt und unter Abdestillieren von Methanol 5 Stunden auf 140° C erwärmt. Nach
dem Abkühlen erstarrt der Rückstand zu einer lackartigen braunen Masse, die viermal mit 50 ml Benzol ausgekocht wird. Der Rückstand
wird mit wenig Wasser angeteigt und geht dabei in Lösung. Nach einigen Minuten kristallisiert das Anilid aus. Es wird abgesaugt,
mi wenig Wasser gewaschen und aus Wasser umkristallisiert. Man erhält 9,3 g (40 % d.Th.) Anilid, das bei 253 - 254° C unter
Zersetzung schmilzt.
In analoger Weise wie nach den Beispielen 1-7 erhält man folgende Verbindungen:

zusammen mit 70 g (1 Mol) Methylvinylketon in Gegenwart von O1I g Hydrochinon und 2 ml Tetramethylguanidin k8 Stunden auf
50 C erwärmt. Im Verlauf der Reaktion werden nochmals 5 »1 Tetramethylguanidin zugetropft· Anschließend wird unter vermindertem
Druck destilliert.
Ausbeutet 28,5 g 3-Oxo-butyl-methyl-phoephinsäure-n-butyleeter,

20,6 g (0,1 Mol) dieses Zwischenprodukts werden bei 15°C mit
5,8 ml (0,15 Mol) HCN und 1 ml Triäthylamin vermischt und
2k Stunden stehengelassen. Nach Entfernung des überschüssigen

1n NaOH im Autoklaven auf 15O0C 1,5 Stunden erhitzt. Danach wir<
mit HCl angesäuert und zur Trockene eingedampft.
Das entstandene Hydrochlorid der ^~3-Methyl-3-amino-3-carboxv7-propyl-(i)-methylphosphinsäure wird durch Extrahieren mit
99 »5 #ige« Alkohol von den anorganischen Salzen getrennt. Nach
Einengen bis zur Trockene und Aufnehmen in 70 ^igem Alkohol kristallisieren 2,5 g der ^3-Methyl-3-amino-3-carboxj^-propyl-(i)-methylphosphinsäure nach Freisetzen der Aminogruppe mit Propylei
oxid mit einem Mol Kristallwasser aus (Fp. i69°C).
Ein in Wasser leicht dispergierbares benetzbares Pulver wird
erhalten, indem man

64· Gew. -Teile kaolinhaltiges Quarz als Inertstoff
10 Gew.-Teile ligninsulfonsaures Kalium und 1 . Gew.-Teil oleylaethyItaurinsaures Katriua als

BIOLOGISCHE BEISPIELE
Beispiel It (Nachauflaufanwendung)
Samen der verschiedensten Unkräuter aus zahlreichen botanischen
Gruppen werden in Topfen ausgesät und unter geeigneten Gewächshausbedingungen
3-5 Wochen bis zur Größe von 3-12 cm je nach Pflanzenart angezogen. Anschließend wird die als Spritzpulver
formulierte Verbindung aus Beispiel (1) in verschiedenen Dosierungen auf die Pflanzen gesprüht. Nach 14- Tagen Standzeit im
Gewächshaus wird die Wirkung der Präparate visuell bonitiert.
Neben den aus Samen angezogenen Pflanzen werden auch 3 mehrjährige
Uhgräser in die Versuche miteinbezogen, die weltweit wirtschaftlich außerordentlich bedeutsame Schadunkräuter darstellen,
nämlich Quecke (Agropyron), Bermudagras (Cynoden) und
Cyperus rotundus,
: ' Von diesen genannten Pflanzenarten
werden Rhizomstücke in Töpfe umgepflanzt und 5-6 Wochen im
Gewächshaus angezogen, bis die Pflanzen eine Größe von 12 - 15 cm erreicht haben. Dann v/erden sie mit den erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen
überspritzt. Die Erfolgsbonitur erfolgt nach 14 Tagen.
Die Ergebnisse der Versuche sind in der Tabelle I zusammengefaßt, wobei die Bonitur nach dem Schema von Bolle (Nachrichtenblatt
des Deutschen Pflanzenschutzdienstes 16, 1964, 92-94) vorgenommen v/ird (s. Boniturschena). Die Versuchsergebnisse
zeigen, daß die erfindungsgemäße Verbindung wichtige, wirtschaftlich bedeutsame Unkrautarten, insbesondere so bedeutende Unkräuter
wie Iponoea und andere Dikotyle, sowie auch mehrjährige
Uhgräser v/ir Cyperus rotundus mit sehr gutem Erfolg bekämpft.
