Farbphotographisches Material.
Zur Erzeugung farbphotographischer Bilder werden bekanntlich belichtete Silberhalogenid-Emulsionsschichten,
die gleichzeitig Farbkuppler enthalten, mit einer aromatischen, primäre Aminogruppen enthaltenden Entwicklersubstanz
entwickelt. Die oxydierte Entwicklersubstanz reagiert dann mit dem Farbkuppler unter Bildung
eines Bildfarbstoffes, wobei dessen Menge von der Menge des eingefallenen Lichtes abhängig ist.
Im allgemeinen wird ein lichtempfindliches photographisches Mehrschichtenmaterial verwendet, das aus einer
rotempfindlichen Schicht, die den Blaugrlinkuppler enthält,
einer grllnempfindlichen Schicht, die den Purpurkuppler
enthält, und einer blauempfindlichen Schicht, die ihrerseits den Gelbkuppler enthält, besteht. Bei
der Farbentwicklung entstehen dann die entsprechenden Farbstoffe mit den Farben blaugrlin, purpur und
gelb.

Gewöhnlich werden als Blaugrlinkuppler Phenole oder
a-Naphthole, als Purpurkuppler Pyrazolone und als Gelbkuppler Acylacetylamide eingesetzt. Die nach der Entwicklung
gebildeten Farbstoffe sind dann Indophenole, Indamine oder Azomethine.
Konventionelle Farbkuppler besitzen eine aktive Methylengruppe,
flir deren UeberfUhrung in den entsprechenden Bildfarbstoff
vier Aequivalente Silberhalogenid benötigt werden; daher heissen solche Farbkuppler Vieriiquivalentkuppler.
Auch sind Farbkuppler bekannt, bei denen ein Wasserstoffatom der aktiven Methylengruppe durch eine während
der Kupplungsreaktion abspaltbare Gruppe ersetzt ist. In diesem Falle werden zur Erzeugung des entsprechenden
Bildfarbstoffes zwei Aequivalente Silberhalogenid benötigt. Deshalb werden solche Farbkuppler als Zweiäquivalentkuppler
bezeichnet.
ZweiSquivalentkuppler zeichnen sich gegenüber den Vieräquivalentkupplern
durch die nachstehenden Vorteile aus:
1. Die flir die Bildung gleicher Farbstoffmenge benötigte
Silberhalogenidmenge ist nur halb so gross;dadurch werden die Herstellungskosten flir ein photographisches
Material splirbar herabgesetzt.
2. Die lichtempfindliche Schicht kann dllnner gehalten
werden, wodurch die Schärfe und die Auflösung des erhaltenen Farbbildes verbessert wird.
3. Die Empfindlichkeit der unteren Schichten wird infolge der erhöhten Lichtdurchlässigkeit erhöht, da
die Dicke der oberen Schichten herabgesetzt ist.

Bei den Gelbkupplern wurden im wesentlichen bis heute die folgenden Abgangsgruppen in Zweiäquivalentkupplern vorgeschlagen:

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Gelbbildes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass
man ein farbphotographisches Material, das auf einem Träger mindestens eine Silberhalogenidemulsionsschicht aufweist,
die als Gelbkuppler mindestens eine Verbindung der Formel (1) enthält, belichtet und das belichtete Material mit einer
wässrigen alkalischen Lösung, die als Entwickler ein aromatisches Amin enthält, behandelt.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind auch die nach diesem Verfahren hergestellten Gelbbilder.

Bei den Gelbkupplerresten G in Verbindungen der Formel (1)
handelt es sich in der Regel um offenkettige Methylengelbkupplerreste, insbesondere um Benzoylacetanilid oder Pivaloyl-
acetanilidreste, wobei die letzteren bevorzugt sind.
Der Rest M in den Verbindungen der Formel (1) kann nur dann

mit Halogenverbindungen der Formeln Cl-G oder Br-G (wobei das Halogenatom ein Wasserstoffatom
der aktiven Methylengruppe des entsprechenden Vieräqui-

valentenkupplers ersetzt) in inerten, organischen Lösungsmitteln wie Acetonitril, Propionitril oder Dimethylformamid
in Gegenwart eines säurebindenden Mittels zu den erfindungsgemässen Verbindungen der Formeln (1) bis (8) umgesetzt. Auch
kann das dem 2-Acylamino-l,3,4-thiadiazol entsprechende
Azeniation unabhängig synthetisiert und dann mit den Verbindungen Cl-G oder Br-G umgesetzt werden. Dieses Azeniation,
das sich primär auch aus dem 2-Acylamino-l,3,4-thiadiazol
und dem säurebindenden Mittel bildet, hat die nachstehende Formel, der eine entsprechende mesomere Grenzformel zugeordnet
werden kann:

Entsprechend der relativen Elektronendichte auf den beiden an der Mesomerie beteiligten Stickstoffatomen, die ihrerseits
natürlich von den Substituenten R und -Z-M abhängig ist, kann nun die Reaktion mit dem Reaktionspartner G-Cl oder
G-Br entweder am Ringstickstoff oder am exoeyclischen Stickstoff
erfolgen. Dabei entstehen dann die entsprechenden isomeren Verbindungen. Dieses Verhalten ist bei anderen inesomeren
Edukten und bei ambidenten Anionen in der Literatur beschrieben (vgl. dazu z.B. R. Gompper, Angew. Chem. 76,
412 [1964]).
Es hat sich auch gezeigt, dass bei der untersuchten Verbindungsklasse
diese Isomerie (soweit sie Überhaupt auftritt) keinen Einfluss auf die angestrebten Gebrauchseigenschaften
hat. Deshalb wird auf eine ausfuhrliche Beschreibung der ieweils möglichen isomeren Formen verzichtet. Es ist

jedoch selbstverständlich, dass jede der möglichen Formen für den gewünschten Anwendungszweck verwendbar ist.
Die erfindungsgemässen Gelbkuppler stellen eine an sich
neue Klasse von Verbindungen dar. Sie zeichnen sich durch hohe Reaktivität (hohe Maximaldichte), minimalen Schleier, hohe
Lichtechtheit sowohl der Kuppler als auch der gebildeten Farbstoffe und ausgezeichnete spektrale Eigenschaften der
gebildeten Farbstoffe aus.

Die Farbkuppler der Formeln (1) bis (8) können in bekannter Weise photographischen Schichten, z.B. Gelatine oder Bindemittel
enthaltenden Silberhalogenidemulsionen einverleibt werden.
Beispielsweise können sie mit Silberbromid-, Silberchloridoder Silberjodidemulsionen oder mit solchen Emulsionen verwendet
werden, die ein Gemisch von Silberhalogeniden enthalten, wie Silberbromid-jodid-oder Silberchlorid-bromidemulsionen.
Die Emulsionen können chemisch sensibilisiert werden, sie können ferner Übliche organische Stabilisatoren und Antischleiermittel
sowie auch Übliche Weichmacher, wie z.B. Glycerin

enthalten. Die Emulsionen können ferner mit den fllr Gelatine
Üblichen Härtungsmitteln gehärtet werden. Ferner können die Emulsionen Übliche Giesshilfsmittel enthalten. Die Emulsionen
können auf Übliche Schichtträger für photographisches
Aufzeichnungsmaterial aufgebracht werden. Gegebenenfalls
kann ein Gemisch von mehreren Kolloiden zum Dispergieren der Silberhalogenidc verwendet werden.
Zur Entwicklung des farbenphotographischen Aufzeichnungsmaterials
können die Üblichen Entwicklerbäder eingesetzt werden. Diese enthalten in der Regel eine Entwicklersubstanz des p-Phenylendiamin-Typs,
einen Entwicklungsverzögerer, wie Kaliumbromid, ein Antioxydationsmittel, wie Natriumsulfit, und eine
Base, z.B. ein Alkalihydroxyd oder Alkalicarbonat. Ferner können die Entwicklerbäder ein Übliches Antischleiermittel
und Komplexbildner enthalten.
Entsprechende Anwendungsmöglichkeiten sind beispielsweise in den US-PS 2 304 939, 2 304 940, 2 322 027, 2 284 879,
2 801 170, 2 801 171, 2 749 360 und 2 825 382 beschrieben.

Allgemeine Vorschrift zur Herstellung der Verbindungen der Formel (13) (Abgangsgruppen)

1 Mol des Aminothiadiazols (12) wird in 500 ml Pyridin
suspendiert und die Suspension auf 0 bis 10° abgekühlt. 1 Mol des Carbonsäurechlorids (oder des entsprechenden
Sulfonsäurechlorids) wird unter stetigem Rühren und Kühlung zugegeben. Die Lösung wird 1 Stunde bei 0 bis 10° C reagieren
gelassen und dann noch zwischen 2 und 6 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerlihrt. Nach Einengen auf das halbe Volumen wird das
Reaktionsgemisch in 1 1 Wasser gegossen, welches zuvor mit 2n Schwefelsäure angesäuert wurde (pH Wert: 2). Es fällt ein
Niederschlag aus der filtriert, mit Wasser neutral gewaschen, getrocknet und aus Aethanol umkristallisiert wird.
Wird an Stelle des Säurechlorids das entsprechende Isocyanat verwendet, so entsteht in analoger Weise eine Verbindung der
Formel (13)y worin -Z-M gleich -CO-NHR ist.

Beispiel 1
α-[3-(2-Benzoylimino-5-phenyl-l,3,4-thiadiazolinyl]-α-pivalyl-2-chLor-5-["y-(2,4-di-t-amylphenoxy)-butyramino]-acetanilid.
Ein Gemisch aus 351 mg (1,1 mMol) des Kaliumsalzes des
2-Benzoylamino-5-phenyl-l,3,4-thiadiazols und 650 mg
(1 mMol) a-Pivalyl-a-brom-2-chlor-5-[7-(2,4-di-t-amylphenoxy) -butyramino]-acetanilid wird in 15 ml absolutem
Acetonitril während 3 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerllhrt.
Die gelbe Suspension wird auf 250 ml Wasser gegossen, welches man zuvor mit 2n Salzsäure auf pH 2,5 eingestellt hat.
Die weisse Fällung wird abfiltriert, mit wenig Wasser gewaschen und aus Aethanol umkristallisiert. Man erhält 480 mg
des Acetanilids der Formel

Beispiel 7
0,1 mMol Gelbkuppler der Formel (201), dessen Herstellung
im Beispiel 1 beschrieben ist, werden in 2,0 ml Trikresylphosphat-Methylenchlorid
(1:9) gelöst. Man dampft das Methylenchlorid ab, gibt 2,0 ml einer 87,igen wässrigen Lösung von Natrium-isopropylnaphthalinsulfonat,
6,6 ml 67oige Gelatinelösung und 1,2 ml Wasser hinzu, stellt das Gemisch auf pH 6,5
ein und emulgiert mit Hilfe eines Ultraschallgerätes während 5 Minuten mit einer Leistung von 100 Watt.
2,5 ml frisch beschallte Kuppler-Emulsion, 1,6 ml Silberbromid-Emulsion
vom pH 6,5 mit einem Gehalt von 1,4 % Silber und 6,0 7o Gelatine, 1,0 ml 17oige wässrige Lösung des
Härters der Formel

und 5,0 ml Wasser werden miteinander vermischt und bei 40° C auf eine substrierte Glasplatte von 13 cm · 18 cm vergossen.

25. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Gelbbildes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man farbphotographisches Material,
das auf einem Träger mindestens eine Silberhalogenidemulsions- schicht aufweist, die als Gelbkuppler mindestens eine Verbindung
gemäss Anspruch 1 enthält, belichtet und das belichtete
Material mit einer wässrigen alkalischen Lösung, die als Ent wickler ein aromatisches Amin enthalt, behandelt.
26. Die nach dem Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 25 hergestellten
Gelbbilder.
