Description
a) aufweisend
1. Dimethylsiloxan-,
2. Diphenylsiloxan und/oder Phenylmethylsiloxan-,
3. Vinylsiloxaneinheiten
und dem Copolymerisat
b) aufweisend
1. Dimethylsiloxan-,
2. Diphenylsilpxan- und/oder Phenylmethylsiloxaneinheiten,
3. ein Siloxan mit R2HSiO- und/oder -OSiHR-O-Gruppen,
worin R ein Methylrest oder ein Äthylrest ist,
noch
c) 5 bis 20 Gew.-% Rauchkieselsäure als Füllstoff zumischt, wobei die Copolymeren a) und b) jeweils
6 bis 16 Mol-% Phenylgruppen und keines der Copolymeren a) und b) den Bestandteil 3
des anderen aufweist, und wobei der Refraktionsindex des Copolymergemisches praktisch
derselbe ist wie der der Rauchkieselsäure, und
d) aushärtet
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man einem Gemisch aus 100 Gew.-Teilen des Copolymers a), aufweisend 03 Mol-% Vinylsiloxan-,
6 Mol-% Diphenylsiloxan- und den Rest Dimcthylsiloxaneinheiten und 10 Gew.-Teilen des
Copolymers b), aufweisend 1 bis 2 Mol-% -O-SiH(CHj)2-,
6 Mol-% Diphenylsiloxan- und den Rest Dirncthylsiloxaneinheiten noch 11 Gew.-Teile
Rauchkieselsäurefüllstoff zumischt.
3. Verwendung der Organopolysiloxanelastomeren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche zur
Herstellung von Kontaktlinsen oder Augenimplantaten.
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung
von optisch klaren, Dimethylsiloxan-, Diphenylsiloxan- und/oder Phenylmethylsiloxaneinheiten und Siliciumdioxidfüllstoff
aufweisenden Organopolysiloxanelastomeren in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren.
Zahlreiche Silikonelastomere besitzen in füllstoff freier
Form in der Regel eine hervorragende optische Klarheit und sind normalerweise wasserklar. Die Zugfestigkeit
und insbesondere die Zerreißfestigkeit solcher Elastomere ist jedoch schlecht. Durch Einarbeitung von
Füllstoffen, z. B. feinteiligen Feststoffen, in die Elastomere liefert das Silikonharz nach dem Vulkanisieren
und Härten ein Elastomer mit stark verbesserter Festigkeit. Die Anzahl der Füllstoffe für Silikonelastomere ist
begrenzt, wenn da Elastomer optisch klar werden soIL
Aus der DE-AS 11 71 614 und der DE-AS 16 69 974 sind durch Zusatz von Katalysatoren in an sich bekannter
Weise härtbare Gießmassen auf Grundlage von Vinylgruppen und silidumgebundene Wässerstoffatome
aufweisende Grganopolysiloxangemische bekannt. Wesentlicher
Bestandteil der beiden eingesetzten Copolymere des Cqpolymergemisches sind Copolymeren mit
Vinylsiloxaneinheiten. Den Organopolysfloxangemisehen
können Füllstoffe, wie pyrogen in der Gasphase gewonnenes Siliciumdioxid, Aluminiumsilikat Quarz,
Calciumcarbonat, Zirkonsilikat, Aluminiumoxid, Zinkoxid,
Titanoxid oder Eisenoxid zugesetzt werden, wenn die Gemische keine optische Klarheit aufweisen müssen.
Zur Herstellung von Kontaktlinsen bzw. Augenimplantaten sind die bekannten Gemische nicht geeignet
Aus der DE-AS 12 68 836 sind optisch klare Gegenstände bekannt die in der Hitze, insbesonderein Gegenwart
organischer Peroxidkatalysatoren, zu Elastomeren ausgehärtet werden, wobei ein ganz speziell zusammengesetztes
Organopolysiloxangemisch eingesetzt wirdk
das 60 bis 70 Gew.-% eines mit Dimethylvinylsiloxaneinheiten endblockiertes Copolymerisat enthält das 6
bis S Mol-% Phenylmethylsiloxaneinheiten und 0,1 bis 0,2 Mol-% Vinylmethyisiloxaneinheiten enthält Das bekannte
Erzeugnis unterscheidet sich im Hinblick auf das Mengenverhältnis und die Zusammensetzung der Komponenten
von den erfindungsgemäß hergestellten optisch klaren Organopolysiloxanelastomeren.
Die DE-AS 18 06 102 befaßt sich mit der Herstellung von transparenten Formkörpern aus gehärteten Organopolysiloxanelastomeren,
bei denen.die Durchsichtigkeit der Organopolysiloxanformkörper durch Beschichten
mit Oberzugsmitteln aus mit Vinylnhenylmethyls·!-
oxygruppen endblockiertem Dimethylpolysiloxan erreicht wird. Dabei handelt es sich um außergewöhnlich
komplex zusammengesetzte Beschichtungsmassen.
Die beschichteten Formkörper der DE-AS 18 06 102 bestehen aus beliebigen bekannten, transparenten, zu
Elastomeren härtenden Organopolysiloxanformmassen. Entscheidend ist, daß die aus der DE-AS 18 06 102 bekannten
Formkörper den Nachteil haben, daß sie ihre Klarheit während des Härtens verlieren und diese erst
durch ein aufwendiges Beschichtungsverfahren wieder
hergestellt werden muß.
Der Erfindung lag die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Organopolysiloxanelastomeren,
die mit Siliciumdioxid-Füllstoffen gefüllt sind, zur
Verfügung zu stellen, die optisch klar sind und trotzdem
so eine hohe Reißfestigkeit aufweisen und die keiner Nachbehandlung bedürfen.
Diese Aufgabe wird gelöst durch ein Verfahren der eingangs angegebenen Art, das durch die Merkmale des
Anspruchs 1 gekennzeichnet ist.
Das erfindungsgemäß eingesetzte Organopolysiloxan besitzt einen Refraktionsinde;., der nahezu an den Refraktior.sindex
der Rauchkieselsäure angepaßt ist, so daß das elastomere Produkt als durchsichtig, d. h. optisch
klar, anzusehen ist. geringe Änderungen der Zusammcnsetzung des Organopoiysiloxans haben nur einen
geringen Einfluß auf die optische Klarheit. Es sollte vorzugsweise dafür Sorge getragen werden, daß keine
Mischungen aus Copolymerisaten mit stark unterschiedlichen Mengen an Phenylresten verwendet werden.
Vorzugsweise verwendet man das Gemisch gemäß Versuchsbeispiel 1 zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen
Organopolysiloxanelastomere.
Zweckmäßige Katalysatoren sind Organoplatinverbindungen
des aus den US-PS 28 23 218 und 3159 601 bekannten Typs. Zahlreiche handelsübliche Silikonpolymerisate,
die sich zur Herstellung des erfindungsgemäßen Vulkanisats eignen, enthalten katalytische Mengen
an solchen. Organoplatinverbindungen. Katalytische Substanzen, wie Organozinnverbindungen und Amine,
sollten ir. der Regel wegen ihrer bekannten Toxizität vermieden werden. Obwohl dies nicht notwendig ist,
sollte das erhaltene Vulkanisat vorzugsweise zur Entfernung von Verunreinigungen, z. B. nichtumgesetzten
Ausgangsmaterials, extrahiert werden. Geeignete Lösungsmittel
sind beispielsweise aliphatische, aromatische oder chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, beispielsweise
Hexan, Toluol, Methylenchlorid, Chloroform und Tetrachlorkohlenstoff.
Die nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren hergestellten;
Elastomere sind insbesondere zur Herstellung von Kontaktlinsen und Augenimplantaten geeignet.
Die folgenden Beispiele sollen die Erfindung näher veranschaulichen·.
Ein handelsübliches Zweikomponenten-Silikongießharz mit 6% Phenylresten (RTV 655) wurde derart mit
Rauchkieselsäure gemischt, daß da^ fertige Gemisch
100 Gewichtsteile Teil A, 10 Gewichtsteile Teil B und 11
Gewichtsteile Rauchkieselsäure enthielt Teil A dieses Gießharzes bestand aus einem Terpolymerisat aus etwa
03 Mol-% eines Vinylsiloxane, etwa 6 Mol-% Diphenylsiloxan
und zum Rest Dimethylsiloxan. Teil A enthielt ferner eine katalytische Meiige eiiK-j handelsüblichen
Organopiaiinkaiaiysators.
Teil B des Gießharzes bestand aus «'«em Copolymerisat
aus etwa 1 bis 2 Mol-%-O-SiH(CH3)rEinheiten,
etwa 6 Mol-% Diphenylsiloxan und zum Rest Dimethylsiloxaneinheiten.
Wurden die Teile A und B unmittelbar vor Gebrauch gemischt, katalysierte die Platinverbindung
eine Reaktion zwischen den Vinylgruppen und den SiH-Gmppen unter Bildung eines vernetzten Elastomeren.
Der Füllstoff konnte in beliebiger Reihenfolge mit den Teilen A und B gemischt werden. Am bequemsten
ist es üblicherweise, den Füllstoff zunächst mit dem Teil A und dann das erhaltene Gemisch mit dem Teil B
zu mischen. Das erhaltene Gemisch wurde zur Herstellung von Kontaktlinsen verwendet. Es zeigte sich, daß
die erhaltene Kontaktlinse eine angemessene Festigkeit und eine für Kontaktlinsen ausreichende optische Klarheit
besaß. Der Schleier des gefüllten Materials war in Abschnitten einer Dicke von weniger als 1 mm kaum
meßbar und weit geringer als der Schleier des Materials gemäß Vergleichsbeispiel 1.
Obwohl der Phenylgehalt des handelsüblichen Zweikomponenten-Gießharzes
(RTV 655) im Hinblick auf andere Appliktionsgebiete bezüglich einer optimalen Flexibilität bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen gewählt
wurde, reichte der Phenylgehalt aus, um bei gemeinsamer Verwendung mit Rauchkieselsäure eine vergleichbare
optische Klarheit zu liefern, wie sie Hydrogelweichkontaktlinsen aufweisen.
Vergleichsbeispiel 1
Ein handelsübliches Zweikomponenten-Silikongießharz ohne Phenylreste (RTV 615) wurde derart mit
Rauchkieselsäure gemischt, daß das fertige Gemisch 100 Gewichtsteile Teil A 10 Gewichtsteile Teil Sund 11
Gewichtsteile Rauchkieselsäure enthielt Teil Λ dieses Harzes bestand aus einem Copolymerisat aus Dimethylsiloxan
und etwa 03 Mol-% Vinyisiloxan. Es enthielt
eine katalytische Menge eines Organoplatinkatalysators.
Teil ß des genannten Harzes bestand aus einem Copolymerisat, dessen Hauptbestandteil Dimethylsiloxan
bildete und das etwa 1 bis 2% -O-SiH(CH3)2-Einheiten
enthielt Wurden die Teile A und B unmittelbar vorGebrauch gemischt, katalysierte die Platinve-bindung
eine Umsetzung zwischen den Vinylgruppen und SiH-Gmppen unter Bildung eines vernetzten Elastomeren.
Das beschriebene, mit Siliciumdioxid gefüllte Gemisch
wurde zur Herstellung von Kontaktlinsen verwendet Es zeigte sich, daß zwar eine akzeptable Festigkeit
jedoch selbst in Abschnitten von lediglich 0,10 mm Dicke eine ungeeignete optische Klarheit vorhanden
war.
Vergleichsbeispiel 2
Ein Silikongießharz ohne Phenylreste (RTV 615) als Teil A wurde mit einem mit 6% Phenyiresten (RTV 655)
als Teil B ohne Füllstoff im Gewichtsverhältnis 10:1 gemischt und dann ließ man die Mischung unter Bildung
eines Elastomeren reagieren. Diese Masse ist nicht durchsichtig, da die Bestandteile nicht genügend miteinander
mischbar sind.
Die schlechte Mischbarkeit geht auf die schlechte Anpassung der Phenylgehalte der betreffenden Copolymerisate
zurück, und diese ist offenbar für die Undurchsichtigkeit verantwortlich.
Die Beispiele zeigen, daß sämtliche flüssigen Bestandteile des Silikonharzgemisches ähnliche Phenylgehalte
aufweisen müssen und daß nur dann optisch klare Elastomere erhältlich sind.
Claims (1)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von optisch klaren, Dimethylsiloxan-, Diphenylsiloxan- und/oder Phenylmethylsiloxaneinheiten
und Siliciumdioxidfüllstoff aufweisenden Organopolysiloxanelastomeren
in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man zu 80 bis 95Gew.-%
eines Copolymergemisches bestehend aus dem Copolymerisat
