Das Patent . . . . . (Patentanmeldung P 17 68 933 = 7-42) /betrifft wasserunempfindliche hydraulische Flüssigkeiten, "bestehend aus etv/a 44 "bis 92 Gewichtsprozent, "bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Flüssigkeit, an wenigstens einer als Schmiermittel wirkenden Borsäureester-Verbindung, 0 bis etwa 20 Gewichtsprozent, "bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Flüssigkeit, wenigstens eines Polyoxyalkylenglykols mit einem Molekulargewicht von nicht weniger als I50 bis zu etv/a 400, und etwa 3 bis etwa 50 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Flüssigkeit, an wenigstens einem Verdünnungsmittel der Formel

- 2 worin P. eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis ^l C-Atomen, R1 .Wasserstoff oder eine.Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, R" eine Alkylengruppe rnit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen und y eine ganze Zahl von 2 bis 4 bedeuten. Vorzugsweise hat R" die Bedeutung von -(CH0),, wobei χ eine ganze Zahl von 2 bis 4 ist.
Überraschenderweise wurde nunmehr, gefunden, dass sich-, der An-Wendungsbereich von v/asserunempfindlichen hydraulischen Flüssigkeiten dieses Typs wesentlich verbreitern lässt, wenn man den Bereich für den Gehalt an der Borsäureester-Vei'bindung erweitert. Insbesondere hydraulische Flüssigkeiten mit eimern Gehalt an der • borhaltigen Verbindung im Bereich von etwa 20 bis -44 Gewichtsprozent v/eisen einen niedrigeren Siedepunkt auf als die hydraulischen Flüssigkeiten des Hauptpatentes, was für bestimmte Anwendungszwecke vorteilhaft ist. Trotzdem wird aber der Siedepunkt durch die Aufnahme von Wasser während des praktischen Gebrauchs, beispielsweise als Bremsflüssigkeit in Kraftwagen, nicht in unerwünschter Weise so weit herabgesetzt, dass die vorgeschriebenen Sicherheitsgrenzen überschritten würden»
Demgemäss betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung hydraulische Flüssigkeiten, bestehend aus wenigstens einer als Schmiermittel : "wirkenden Borsäureester-Verbindung, einem Verdünnungsmittel der ■ Formel I

2 bis 4 bedeuten, und gegebenenfalls einem Polyoxyalkylenglykol

mit einem Molekulargewicht von nicht weniger als etwa 150 bis 400 nach Patent ο . » β . (Patentanmeldung P 17 68 933«7-42), welche dadurch gekennzeichnet sind, da,ss der Gehalt au der Borsäureester-Verbindung etwa 20 "bis 44. Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der flüssigkeit, beträgtG
Vorzugsweise beträgt der Gehalt an der Borsäureester-Verbindung bei den' erfindungsgemässen hydraulischen Flüssigkeiten mindestens 30 Gewichtsprozent»
Die erfindungsg'emässen Hydraulikflüssigkeiten zeichnen sich unter anderem dadurch aus, dass sie den vom US-Department of Transportation in Betracht gezogenen Standardbedingungen für Bremsflüssigkeiten entsprechen, doh., dass sie bei einem Wasserzusatz bis zu etwa 3»5 Volumenprozent einen Siedepunkt oberhalb 160°C und im praktisch wasserfreien Zustand einen Siedepunkt oberhalb 232,2°C aufweisen.
Weiterhin zeigen die erfindungsgemässen Hydraulikflüssigkeiten nur eine geringe Korrosivität, und sie sind gut mit Kautschuk verträglich, auch ohne einen Zusatz an kostspieligen Alkoholen, wie 2-Äthylhexanol, Heptanolen, Glykolbutyläthern und Glykoldiäthern«
Die Borsäureester-Verbindungen leiten sich vorzugsweise von einem Glykolmonoäther ab, insbesondere handelt es sich dabei um Triester der Borsäure der nachstehenden allgemeinen Formel

in welcher R1 einen Alkylrest rait 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet, R einen Alkylenrest mit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen darstellt und y eine ganze Zahl von 2-4 ist. Beispiele hierfür sind die folgenden Verbindungen: /CH, ('OCH2CH2 Kp/^-Bj H5(OCH2CH2)2p^-B, /C2H5(OCH2CH2)3p75-B} /C2II5(OCH2CH2)^J3-B,
E7(OGE2GE2)3q/3~B, /C4H9(OCH2CH2)2O73-B und /C4H9(OCH2CH2)3p73-B.
Derartige Borsäureester lassen sich in an sich bekannter Weise aus Borsäure und. den entsprechenden Glykoläthern in Anwesenheit eines mit Wasser azeotrop abdestillierenden Lösungsmittels herstellen»
Im Rahmen der Erfindung können aber auch andere Typen von Borsäureester-Verbindungeu eingesetzt werden, wie sie auch in dem Hauptpatent coco«, (Patentanmeldung P 1? 68 933·7-42) beschrieben sind.
Das Verdünnungsmittel der vorstehend angegebenen Formel I wird zweckmässig in Mengen bis zu 80 Gewichtsprozent', bezogen , auf das Gesamtgewicht der Flüssigkeit, eingesetzt» Wegen ihrer besonders günstigen Wirkung auf die Viskositätseigenschaften und das Wasseraufnahmevermögen v/erden die nachstehenden Glykoläther bevorzugt: Diäthylenglykolmonomethyläther, Diäthylenglykolmonoäthyläther, Diäthylenglykolmonobutyläther, Triäthylenglykolmonomethyläther, Triäthylenglykolmonoäthyläther, Triäthylenglykolmonobutyläther, Tetraäthylenglykolmonomethyläther, ■ Tetraäthylenglykolmonoäthyläther und Tetraäthylenglykolmonobutyläther. , .^

Gegebenenfalls können die erfindungsgemässen Hydraulikflüssigkeiten zusätzlich auch Polyoxyalkylenglykole enthalten, deren Molekulargewicht vorzugsweise etv/a 100 bis 300 beträgt.
Die erfindungsgemässen Hydraulikflüssigkeiten können ausserdein übliche Zusatzstoffe in Mengen bis zu 10 Gewichtsprozent -enthalten, beispielsweise Antikorrosions- und Antioxydationsmittel, Rostinhibitoreu, Antischaummittel, Stabilisatoren und Mittel zur Verbesserung des Viskositätsindex.
