Abstract
Hierin bereitgestellte Verfahren und Systeme lassen zu, dass in einem optimalen Kommunikationsnetzwerk eine Kommunikationssitzung hergestellt und anschließend an alternative Netzwerke übermittelt wird, wenn Bedingungen vorschreiben, dass eine solche Änderung notwendig oder wünschenswert ist. Die Arten der Bedingungen, die beim Identifizieren des optimalen Kommunikationsnetzwerks oder des alternativen Netzwerks in Betracht gezogen werden können, umfassen Bedingungen bezüglich des Betriebs eines Benutzergeräts, Kommunikationsprofilen des Benutzers, in anderen Netzwerken verfügbarer Ressourcen und dergleichen.
Description
- RÜCKVERWEIS AUF VERWANDTE ANMELDUNGEN
- Diese Anmeldung beansprucht den Vorteil der vorläufigen US-Anmeldung 61/235,838, eingereicht am 21. August 2009, deren gesamte Offenbarung durch Bezugnahme hierin aufgenommen ist.
- GEBIET DER ERFINDUNG
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft allgemein Kommunikationen und insbesondere die Vermittlung von Kommunikationen zwischen Netzwerken.
- STAND DER TECHNIK
- Wenn Benutzer anfangen, mehrere Netzwerke zum Kommunizieren zu benutzen, gibt es potenziell Ungleichheiten in den Fähigkeiten der Netzwerke und/oder Geräte. Zum Beispiel stellen Private-Branch-eXchange(PBX)-Vermittlungskommunikationen vielfältige netzwerkzentrierte Vermittlungsfähigkeiten bereit, während P2P(P2P)-Netzwerke eingeschränkte gerätezentrierte Fähigkeiten bereitstellen. Dies liegt daran, dass P2P-Netzwerke erfordern, dass die meisten der Verarbeitungs- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in den Kommunikationsgeräten liegen; viele Kommunikationsgeräte weisen eventuell keine dedizierte Kommunikationshardware auf, was somit zu einem Leistungsabfall führt, je mehr die Verarbeitungsressourcen aufgebraucht werden. Des Weiteren unterstützen einige Geräte nur eine begrenzte Fähigkeit, etwa nur Ton, während andere Geräte eventuell Ton-, Video- und andere Fähigkeiten unterstützen.
- Verschiedene Bedingungen, etwa Netzwerkausfälle, Geräteausfälle, das Unterschreiten eines vorbestimmten Niveaus der Dienstqualität (Quality of Service, QoS), das Fehlen von Verarbeitungsressourcen in einem Kommunikationsgerät und andere Bedingungen, können verursachen, dass Kommunikationen intolerabel werden. Folglich besteht eine Notwendigkeit, als Reaktion auf diese Probleme eine Netzwerkvermittlung zu ermöglichen. Leider berücksichtigen bestehende Lösungen nicht die aktuelle Fähigkeit eines Kommunikationsgeräts, wenn es beschließt, die Kommunikationssitzung an ein anderes Netzwerk zu vermitteln. Des Weiteren tragen bestehende Lösungen auch alternativen Netzwerken durch Identifizieren von Domänen und Dienstanbietern, zu denen der Benutzer oder der Endpunkt gehört, nicht Rechnung. Insbesondere tendieren bestehende Lösungen dazu, beim Bestimmen, ob eine Kommunikationssitzung an ein anderes Netzwerk zu vermitteln ist, netzwerkzentriert zu sein. Eine Nichtberücksichtigung anderer als der Netzwerkbedingungen kann zu suboptimalen Netzwerkauswahl- und -vermittlungsentscheidungen führen.
- KURZDARSTELLUNG
- Die hierin dargelegten Ausführungsformen wurden mit Bezug auf die obigen Aspekte und andere Probleme in Betracht gezogen. Die Ausführungsformen der vorliegenden Erfindung schlagen verbesserte Vermittlungsmechanismen vor.
- Ein Gesichtspunkt der vorliegenden Erfindung besteht darin, einen besseren Vermittlungsmechanismus zwischen netzwerkzentrierten (z. B. Enterprise-) und P2P-Lösungen bereitzustellen. Die hierin beschriebenen Vermittlungsmechanismen tragen Geräteeigenschaften wie der Verarbeitungskapazität (insgesamt und aktuell), unterstützten Protokollen, Gerätefähigkeiten, der Gerätehardware, der Domäne, für die das Gerät momentan registriert ist (d. h. aus welchem Netzwerk/welchen Netzwerken oder über welchen/welche Dienstanbieter das Gerät anruft und mit welchem Netzwerk/welchen Netzwerken oder welchem Dienstanbieter/welchen Dienstanbietern das Gerät verbunden ist), potenziellen Domänen, für die sich das Gerät registrieren kann (z. B. Netzwerke oder Dienstanbieter, für die sich ein Benutzer des Geräts als Teilnehmer angemeldet hat) und dergleichen Rechnung, wenn sie bestimmen, welches Netzwerk benutzt und/oder an welches Netzwerk vermittelt werden soll.
- Gemäß mindestens einigen Ausführungsformen der vorliegenden Erfindung kann die Vermittlung jederzeit vor und/oder während einer Kommunikation erfolgen. Eine Kommunikation kann eine Kommunikation beliebiger Art sein, etwa eine Audiokommunikation, eine Videokommunikation, eine Textkommunikation, eine Multimediakommunikation, ein Videostream, ein Audiostream und dergleichen. Die Kommunikation kann auch verschiedene Kombinationen aus dem Obigen sein und kann während der Lebensdauer der Kommunikation variieren.
- In einigen Ausführungsformen kann ein Benutzer eine vordefinierte QoS für getätigte Anrufe an eine spezielle Person oder eine spezielle QoS für alle Anrufe haben. Während des ersten Anrufs bei der Person oder nachdem der Anruf aufgebaut worden ist, können die hierin vorgeschlagenen Mechanismen nicht nur den QoS der verschiedenen Netzwerke betrachten, sondern auch Fähigkeiten der in der Kommunikation involvierten Kommunikationsgeräte betrachten. Wenn zum Beispiel eine spezielle Form eines P2P-Voice-over-Internet-Protokoll(VoIP)-Anrufs getätigt wird und eines der Kommunikationsgeräte stark belastet wird und zu einer Codierung von niedrigerer Qualität abfallen muss, können die hierin vorgeschlagenen Mechanismen die Kommunikation basierend auf den sich ändernden Merkmalen eines oder mehrerer der Kommunikationsgeräte an das Enterprise-Netzwerk (z. B. ein herkömmliches netzwerkzentriertes Netzwerk, ein VPN oder dergleichen) vermitteln. Die Vermittlung an das andere Netzwerk kann das zuvor überlastete Kommunikationsgerät von Dingen wie Mischung, Signalisierung, Codierung und dergleichen entlasten, wodurch der Bedarf an weiteren Ressourcen reduziert wird.
- Die hierin vorgeschlagenen Mechanismen können auch erkennen, wann die Verarbeitungsressourcen des Kommunikationsgeräts die QoS-Anforderungen erfüllen können, und dann an das P2P-Netzwerk zurückvermitteln. Die Vermittlung von Netzwerken kann gemäß vielerlei Faktoren erfolgen, etwa Kosten, QoS, der Art der Kommunikation, Gerätefähigkeiten, Quality of Experience (QoE), Tageszeit, Benutzereinstellungen und Kombinationen davon. Zum Beispiel kann das P2P-Netzwerk billiger als die Enterprise/VPN-Lösung sein. Die Mechanismen können weitere Faktoren wie kostenoptimierten Verbindungsaufbau (Least Cost Routing), Landeskennzahlen, Dienstanbieterkosten, interne Kosten, benutzte Protokolle, Kombinationen davon und dergleichen betrachten, um besser bestimmen zu können, wann eine Kommunikation von einem Netzwerk an ein weiteres anderes Netzwerk vermittelt werden sollte.
- Eine Möglichkeit der Vermittlung zwischen Netzwerken während einer aktiven Kommunikation ist, eine zweite Kommunikation im zweiten, alternativen Netzwerk zu erzeugen und zu vermitteln, bevor die bestehende Kommunikation im ersten Netzwerk abgebaut wird. Wenn ein P2P-Konferenzanruf an ein Unternehmensnetzwerk übermittelt wird, kann die Kommunikation an eine Mischungsressource oder mehrere Ressourcen innerhalb des Unternehmens verwiesen werden, und eine Konferenz kann daraufhin im Unternehmensnetzwerk aufgebaut werden. Danach kann die Kommunikation an das Unternehmensnetzwerk vermittelt werden. Ein ähnlicher Mechanismus kann benutzt werden, um eine Konferenz von einem Unternehmensnetzwerk an ein P2P-Netzwerk zu vermitteln.
- Die hierin vorgeschlagenen Mechanismen können eine Kommunikationssitzung zwischen Netzwerken basierend auf einem Ausfall oder einer QoS-Reduzierung gemäß einer netzwerkzentrierten Lösung vermitteln. Wenn die QoS der netzwerkzentrierten Lösung einen definierten Schwellwert unterschreitet, kann eine Kommunikation an das P2P-Netzwerk vermittelt werden. Um die erforderliche QoS im P2P-Netzwerk zu erfüllen, kann das Kommunikationsgerät eine spezielle Menge von Verarbeitungsressourcen im Kommunikationsgerät zuordnen, um die QoS-Anforderungen des Benutzers zu erfüllen. Eine Möglichkeit, dies zu tun, könnte sein, der Kommunikation einen bestimmten Zeitanteil der Verarbeitungsressourcen) des Kommunikationsgeräts zuzuordnen. Der Kommunikationsprozess könnte an einen speziellen Prozessor in einem Mehrprozessorsystem oder unter Verwendung anderer bekannter Techniken abgegeben werden. Dadurch, dass einer Kommunikation spezielle Ressourcen zugeordnet werden, können eine spezielle QoS, Codierung und dergleichen bereitgestellt werden.
- Die Vermittlung von Netzwerken kann auch darauf zurückzuführen sein, dass ein Kommunikationsgerät basierend auf einer Mischung zusätzlicher Anrufteilnehmer in einem P2P-Netzwerk überlastet wird. Wenn das Kommunikationsgerät überlastet wird, weil es weitere Anrufteilnehmer mischen muss, kann das System an das Unternehmensnetzwerk vermitteln, in dem die Mischung zentral erfolgt, so dass das Kommunikationsgerät entlastet wird. Die Vermittlung kann für alle in der Kommunikation involvierten Geräte geschehen oder nur eine Untermenge der Geräte wird an ein anderes Netzwerk vermittelt. Des Weiteren kann eine Untermenge von Geräten an ein erstes alternatives Netzwerk vermittelt werden, während eine zweite Untermenge von Geräten an ein zweites alternatives Netzwerk vermittelt werden kann. Zusätzlich können Kriterien für die Vermittlung von Netzwerken darauf basieren, dass das Kommunikationsgerät bei dem Versenden von Paketen, Packet Dropping und dergleichen eine längere Verzögerung aufweist.
- Eine weitere Option wäre, ein spezielles Netzwerk basierend auf den Ortsdomänen der Geräte auszuwählen. Wenn zum Beispiel ein Gerät aus einem P2P-Netzwerk anruft und das System entscheiden kann, eine reine P2P-Verbindung basierend auf niedrigeren Kosten auszuwählen. Das System könnte basierend auf Kosten und/oder anderen Faktoren (z. B. dem Wunsch des Aufnehmens anderer Anrufmerkmale über das SIP-Netzwerk) eine P2P-SIP-Verbindung zwischen Kommunikationsgeräten auswählen.
- Die Vermittlung kann im Kommunikationsgerät, in einem Netzwerkperipheriegerät (z. B. einem Gateway, innerhalb des Netzwerks/der Netzwerke und dergleichen erfolgen. Zum Beispiel kann ein Gateway Pakete vom Kommunikationsgerät überwachen und erkennen, dass das Kommunikationsgerät anfängt, beim Verarbeiten eines Sprach-/Videoanrufs in einem P2P-Netzwerk Probleme zu haben. Das Gateway kann daraufhin das Kommunikationsgerät informieren, dass es an ein anderes Netzwerk basierend auf Netzwerkkriterien, Fähigkeiten des anderes Geräts/der anderen Geräte, das/die in der Kommunikation involviert ist/sind, und dergleichen vermittelt wird.
- Eine weitere Option wäre die Bereitstellung der Möglichkeit, Netzwerke zu Beginn einer Kommunikation durch die Verwendung von Kennungen von einem Netzwerk und die Erzeugung einer Kommunikation in einem anderen Netzwerk zu vermitteln. Zum Beispiel haben Benutzer A und Benutzer B beide Unternehmenskennungen und P2P-Kennungen (d. h. Teilnehmeranmeldungen für zwei verschiedene Netzwerke, doch jeder Benutzer meldet sich als Teilnehmer für dieselben zwei Netzwerke an). Wenn Benutzer A versucht, unter Verwendung der Unternehmenskennungen von Benutzer A und Benutzer B eine Unternehmensverbindung herzustellen, jedoch basierend auf dem Mechanismus ein Erfordernis der Vermittlung der Kommunikation an das P2P-Netzwerk erkannt wird, erhielte das System die P2P-Kennungen und würde daraufhin eine Kommunikation im P2P-Netzwerk von Benutzer A an Benutzer B erzeugen. Eine andere Alternative wäre, wenn Benutzer A versucht, Benutzer B unter Verwendung von Unternehmenskennungen anzurufen. Das System würde Benutzer A an das P2P-Netzwerk basierend darauf vermitteln, dass das System ein Erfordernis der Vermittlung von Netzwerken erkennte und das System würde daraufhin eine Kommunikation vom P2P-Netzwerk her initiieren. Die P2P-Kommunikation käme am richtigen Gateway an, um die Kommunikation an Benutzer B in das Unternehmensnetzwerk zurückzubringen. Dies beides könnte auch umgekehrt erfolgen.
- Gemäß mindestens einigen Ausführungsformen der vorliegenden Erfindung wird ein Verfahren bereitgestellt, das allgemein Folgendes beinhaltet:
Überwachung von Merkmalen eines Benutzergeräts, das involviert oder kurz vor einer Involvierung in einer Kommunikationssitzung mit einem anderen Benutzergerät ist;
basierend auf den überwachten Merkmalen des Benutzergeräts Identifizieren eines zweiten Netzwerks zum Befördern der Kommunikationssitzung; und
Durchführen - (i) des Herstellens der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; und/oder
- (ii) des Vermittelns der Kommunikationssitzung von einem ersten Netzwerk an das zweite Netzwerk.
- Die Wortverbindungen „mindestens einer/eine/eines”, „einer/eine/eines oder mehrere” und „und/oder” sind offene Ausdrücke, die bei Verwendung sowohl konjunktiv als auch disjunktiv sein können. Zum Beispiel bezeichnet jeder der Ausdrücke „mindestens einer von A, B und C”, „mindestens einer von A, B oder C”, „einer oder mehrere von A, B und C”, „einer oder mehrere von A, B oder C” und „A, B und/oder C” A allein, B allein, C allein, A und B zusammen, A und C zusammen, B und C zusammen oder A, B und C zusammen.
- Der Begriff „Stalking” bezeichnet den Prozess des Bestimmens, dass eine Person derzeit ein Social-Media-Netzwerk benutzt und in diesem Social-Media-Netzwerk in Echtzeit kontaktiert werden kann.
- Der Begriff ein oder „eine” Entität bezieht sich auf eine oder mehrere dieser Entität. Demzufolge können die Begriffe „ein” (bzw. „eine” oder „eines”), „ein/eine/eines oder mehrere” und „mindestens ein/eine” unterschiedslos benutzt werden. Ferner ist zu beachten, dass die Begriffe „beinhaltend”, „umfassend” und „aufweisend” unterschiedslos benutzt werden können.
- Der Begriff „automatisch” und Variationen davon, wie hierin benutzt, beziehen sich auf beliebige Prozesse oder Operationen, die ohne wesentlichen menschlichen Aufwand erfolgen, wenn der Prozess oder die Operation durchgeführt wird. Jedoch kann ein Prozess oder eine Operation automatisch sein, auch wenn die Durchführung des Prozesses oder der Operation einen wesentlichen oder unwesentlichen menschlichen Aufwand benutzt, falls der Aufwand vor der Durchführung des Prozesses oder der Operation empfangen wird. Menschlicher Aufwand gilt als wesentlich, wenn ein solcher Aufwand beeinflusst, wie der Prozess oder die Operation durchgeführt werden wird. Menschlicher Aufwand, der die Durchführung des Prozesses oder der Operation genehmigt, gilt nicht als „wesentlich”.
- Der Begriff „computerlesbares Medium”, wie hierin benutzt, bezieht sich auf einen beliebigen Realspeicher, der an der Bereitstellung von Befehlen für einen Prozessor zur Ausführung beteiligt ist. Ein solches Medium kann in vielen Formen auftreten, insbesondere als nicht flüchtige Medien, flüchtige Medien und Übertragungsmedien. Nicht flüchtige Medien umfassen zum Beispiel NVRAM-Speicher oder magnetische oder optische Platten. Flüchtige Medien umfassen dynamischen Speicher, etwa Arbeitsspeicher. Häufige Formen computerlesbarer Medien umfassen zum Beispiel eine Floppy-Disk, eine Diskette, eine Festplatte, ein Magnetband oder ein beliebiges anderes magnetisches Medium, ein magneto-optisches Medium, eine CD-ROM, ein beliebiges anderes optisches Medium, Lochkarten, Lochstreifen, ein beliebiges anderes physikalisches Medium mit Lochmustern, ein RAM, ein PROM und EPROM, ein FLASH-EPROM, ein Festkörpermedium wie eine Speicherkarte, einen beliebigen anderen Speicherchip oder eine beliebige andere Speicherkassette oder ein beliebiges anderes Medium, das ein Computer lesen kann. Wenn die computerlesbaren Medien als Datenbank konfiguriert sind, sollte es sich verstehen, dass die Datenbank eine Datenbank beliebiger Art sein kann, etwa relational, hierarchisch, objektorientiert und/oder dergleichen. Folglich wird angenommen, dass die Erfindung ein Realspeichermedium und im Stand der Technik anerkannte Äquivalente und Nachfolgemedien umfasst, in denen die Software-Implementierungen der vorliegenden Erfindung gespeichert sind.
- Die Begriffe „bestimmen”, „kalkulieren” und „berechnen” und Variationen davon, wie hierin benutzt, werden unterschiedslos benutzt und umfassen Methodologien, Prozesse, mathematische Operationen oder Techniken beliebiger Art.
- Der Begriff „Modul”, wie hierin benutzt, bezieht sich auf eine beliebige bekannte oder später entwickelte Hardware, Software, Firmware, künstliche Intelligenz, Fuzzylogik oder Kombination von Hardware und Software, die in der Lage ist, die mit diesem Element assoziierte Funktionalität durchzuführen. - Die folgende Beschreibung stellt nur Ausführungsformen bereit und soll nicht den Schutzumfang, die Anwendbarkeit oder die Konfiguration der Ansprüche begrenzen. Vielmehr wird die folgende Beschreibung dem Fachmann eine Beschreibung an die Hand geben, die ihn dazu befähigt, die Ausführungsformen zu implementieren. Dabei versteht es sich, dass verschiedene Änderungen hinsichtlich der Funktion und der Anordnung der Elemente vorgenommen werden können, ohne vom Geist und Schutzumfang der beiliegenden Ansprüche abzuweichen.
- Ein Kommunikationssystem
100 zum Ermöglichen von Kommunikationssitzungen zwischen Benutzergeräten ist in1 gezeigt. Das Kommunikationssystem100 kann ein oder mehrere Benutzergeräte108 in Kommunikation über ein oder mehrere Kommunikationsnetzwerke104a –N umfassen. - Die Benutzergeräte
108 können ein beliebiges geeignetes leitungs- oder paketvermitteltes oder digitales (z. B. TDM-fähiges) Kommunikationsgerät sein. Beispiele umfassen drahtgebundene und drahtlose Telefone, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), Personal-Computer oder PCs, Laptops, paketbasierte H.320-Videotelefone und -konferenzanlagen, paketbasierte Voice Messaging und Response Units, Peer-to-Peer-basierte Kommunikationsgeräte, Mobiltelefone, Smartphones, paketbasierte traditionelle Computertelefonie-Zubehörteile und Kombinationen davon. - Die Netzwerke
104a –N können Kommunikationsmedien und -geräte beliebiger Art und in beliebiger Anzahl beinhalten, die zum Unterstützen von Kommunikationssitzungen in der Lage sind, etwa Sprachanrufe, Videoanrufe, Chats, E-Mails, Chats, TTY-Anrufe, Multimedia-Sitzungen oder dergleichen. Jedes der Netzwerke104a –N kann von anderen Netzwerkdienstanbietern bereitgestellt und unterhalten werden. Als Alternative können zwei oder mehr der Netzwerke104a –N von einem gemeinsamen Netzwerkdienstanbieter oder einem gemeinsamen Unternehmen im Fall eines verteilten Unternehmensnetzwerks bereitgestellt und unterhalten werden. - Als ein Beispiel kann das erste Netzwerk
104a einem P2P-Netzwerk entsprechen oder eine Kommunikation von einem P2P-Kommunikationsanbieter wie Skype bereitgestellt werden. Ein solches Netzwerk kann über das Internet gemäß bekannten Verfahren und Protokollen direkt zwischen zwei Benutzergeräten108 hergestellt werden. Ein P2P-Netzwerk kann auch genutzt werden, um einen Konferenzanruf zwischen drei, vier, fünf oder mehr Benutzergeräten108 zu ermöglichen. In einer solchen Ausführungsform kann das Mischen des Tons von den verschiedenen Benutzergeräten108 an einem oder mehreren Benutzergeräten108 durchgeführt werden, statt von einem Netzwerkgerät, etwa einem Konferenzserver. - Als weiteres Beispiel kann das zweite Netzwerk
104b einem Unternehmensnetzwerk entsprechen. Ein Netzwerk oder Netzwerke der Art, die die LANs des Unternehmensnetzwerks miteinander verbinden, können das Internet und/oder das öffentliche Fernsprechwählnetzwerk (Public Switched Telephone Network, PSTN) und/oder ein diensteintegrierendes Digitalnetzwerk (Integrated Serviced Digital Network, ISDN) oder dergleichen umfassen. Zusätzlich ist ersichtlich, dass das Unternehmensnetzwerk nicht auf eine beliebige einzige Netzwerkart begrenzt sein muss und sich stattdessen aus einer Anzahl verschiedener Netzwerke und/oder Netzwerkarten zusammensetzen kann. - Eines oder mehrere der Netzwerke
104a -N können als Alternative oder zusätzlich ein IP-Multimedia-Subsystem(IMS)-Netzwerk oder ein Netzwerk einer beliebigen anderen Art umfassen, das den Zugriff auf das Internet und/oder ein standardmäßiges analoges Telefonsystem (Plain Old Telephone System, POTS) und/oder ein ISDN und/oder das PSTN und/oder ein bekanntes zellulares Kommunikationsnetzwerk einer beliebigen Art (z. B. 3G, 4G etc.) oder Kombinationen davon gewährt. - Ein Netzwerk einer weiteren Art, das die Netzwerke
104a -N umfassen kann, ist das Internet. Ein Benutzergerät108 kann mit dem Internet entweder über eine drahtgebundene oder eine drahtlose Verbindung durch Nutzung einer oder mehrerer Internetzugriffspunkte verbunden sein. Als Alternative kann ein Benutzergerät108 mit einem Netzwerk einer anderen Art wie einem Unternehmensnetzwerk über einen Zugriffspunkt verbunden sein. -
2 stellt weitere Einzelheiten eines beispielhaften Kommunikationssystems200 dar. Das Kommunikationssystem200 ist ähnlich dem in1 dargestellten Kommunikationssystem100 , außer dass weitere Einzelheiten eines Unternehmensnetzwerks204 dargestellt sind. Wie in2 ersichtlich ist, kann ein Unternehmensnetzwerk204 als ein Mechanismus dienen, um zwei Benutzergeräte108 miteinander zu verbinden. Obwohl die Benutzergeräte108 über das erste Kommunikationsnetzwerk104a miteinander verbunden sein können, stellt das Unternehmensnetzwerk204 eine Alternative zum Miteinanderverbinden der Benutzergeräte108 bereit. - In einigen Szenarios können Benutzergeräte
108 über ein zweites Kommunikationsnetzwerk104b , ein drittes Kommunikationsnetzwerk104c und das Unternehmensnetzwerk204 miteinander verbunden sein. In einem solchen Szenario kann die Kombination von Netzwerken gemeinsam als ein alternatives Netzwerk zum ersten Kommunikationsnetzwerk104a bezeichnet werden. - Als Alternative kann ein Benutzergerät

208 kann als sicheres LAN aufgrund der Tatsache angesehen werden, dass das Netzwerkperipheriegerät216 und/oder der Zugriffspunkt236 Sicherheitsmechanismen umfasst, die möglich machen, dass nur vertrauenswürdige Kommunikationen in das Unternehmensnetzwerk204 gelangen. Beispielsweise kann das Netzwerkperipheriegerät216 eine Firewall umfassen, die darin programmierte Regeln zum Filtern von Paketen und anderen Formen von Kommunikation aufweist, die am Netzwerkperipheriegerät216 empfangen werden. Wenn elf empfangenes Paket den Firewall-Regeln nicht genügt oder anderweitig durch die Firewall-Regeln ausgeschlossen wird, dann wird dieses empfangene Paket nicht dem LAN208 zugeführt. Ebenso kann der Zugriffspunkt236 durch einen Verschlüsselungscode oder einen ähnlichen Sicherheitsmechanismus gesichert sein, der den Zugriff durch den Zugriffspunkt236 auf vertrauenswürdige Benutzergeräte108 mit dem Verschlüsselungscode begrenzt. Beispielsweise kann der Zugriffspunkt236 mit Codes für Wi-Fi-geschützten Zugriff (WAP- und WPA2-Codes), Wired-Equivalent-Privacy(WEP)-Codes, Temporal-Key-Integrity-Protocol(TKIP)-Codes, privaten Schlüsseln, Paaren öffentlicher/privater Schlüssel und dergleichen gesichert sein. Dem Benutzergerät108 , das die erforderlichen Codes für den Zugriffspunkt236 nicht bereitstellen kann, wird der Zugriff auf das LAN208 verweigert. - Wie oben diskutiert, kann das Netzwerkperipheriegerät
216 einem Gateway oder einem ähnlichen Protokollübersetzungsgerät entsprechen. Ein Netzwerkperipheriegerät einer anderen beispielhaften Art216 umfasst einen Session Border Controller (SBC), der ein an den Grenzen von Domänen genutztes Gerät ist. SBCs können die Funktionalität umfassen, die ausreichend ist, um zuzulassen, dass eine Domäne Kontrolle über das Signalisieren einer Kommunikationssitzung und gewöhnlich auch die in der Einrichtung, der Leitung und dem Abbau von Kommunikationssitzungen involvierten Medienstreams ausübt. SBCs können auch Mess-, Zugriffskontroll- und Datenkonvertierungseinrichtungen für die Kommunikationen bereitstellen, die sie kontrollieren. - Das Netzwerkperipheriegerät
216 , sei es als Gateway, SBC oder Peripheriegerät anderer Art, kann eine Funktionalität beinhalten, die Kommunikationen zwischen Computer- oder Kommunikationsnetzwerken, die unterschiedliche Kommunikationsprotokolle benutzen, möglich macht. Beispielsweise kann das Netzwerkperipheriegerät216 möglich machen, dass ein SIP-basiertes Unternehmensnetzwerk204 und ein nicht-SIP-basiertes Kommunikationsnetzwerk wie das zweite oder dritte Kommunikationsnetzwerk104b ,104c miteinander verbunden werden. Als Alternative kann das Netzwerkperipheriegerät216 möglich machen, dass ein paketbasiertes Kommunikationsnetzwerk und ein leitungsbasiertes Kommunikationsnetzwerk miteinander verbunden werden. - Der VPN-Server

108 und dem LAN208 kann durch Nutzung von VPN-Software auf dem Benutzergerät108 und/oder durch Nutzung des VPN-Servers212 ermöglicht werden. Folglich ist der VPN-Server212 unter Umständen nicht notwendig, falls das Benutzergerät108 richtig mit VPN-Software ausgestattet ist. Der VPN-Server212 kann einer Computersoftware und/oder -hardware entsprechen, die als Gateway für das Benutzergerät108 in das LAN208 fungiert. Folglich können das Netzwerkperipheriegerät216 und der VPN-Server212 dasselbe Gerät sein oder können als verschiedene Module darin auf demselben Server betrieben werden. Beispiele für solche Sprachen umfassen insbesondere Point-to-Point-Tunneling-Protocol (PPTP), Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP), Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) und Kombinationen davon. - Der Kommunikationsserver
220 ist ein Server, der genutzt werden kann, um Kommunikationen zwischen Benutzergeräten108 zu ermöglichen, verschiedene Features in eine Kommunikationssitzung aufzunehmen oder Konferenzdienste zu ermöglichen. Der Kommunikationsserver220 ist bevorzugt konfiguriert, um Telekommunikationsanwendungen auszuführen, etwa die Suite der MultiVantageTM- oder Avaya-AuraTM-Anwendungen von Avaya, Inc., einschließlich Communication ManagerTM, Aura Communication ManagerTM, Avaya IP OfficeTM und MultiVantage ExpressTM. - Der Kommunikationsserver
220 umfasst in einigen Ausführungsformen eine oder mehrere Konferenzanwendungen und assoziierte Hardware, etwa MultiPoint Conferencing UnitsTM (MCU), Unified ConferencingTM, Web ConferencingTM, IP Office ConferencingTM und/oder Meeting ExchangeTM von Avaya, Inc. Die Produkte können gestreamte Videos von Referenten möglich machen, etwa die Nutzung einer Webcam, und eine Listenanzeige von Teilnehmern bereitstellen, ein Diskussionsfenster, das Keyboard Chats bereitstellt, die zwischen Teilnehmern privat sein oder rundgesendet werden und für alle Teilnehmer sichtbar sein können, eine Fähigkeit, die einen Host befähigt, einen Teilnehmer in den Host-Status zu befördern, damit der Teilnehmer die Konferenzsitzung kontrollieren kann, Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe von Audio- und Webabschnitten der Konferenzsitzung und Integration des Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) aus Unternehmensverzeichnissen und -datenbanken (d. h. Echtzeitzugriff auf die Unternehmensdatenbank240 ). Wie ersichtlich ist, werden ein oder mehrere der vom Kommunikationsserver220 bereitgestellten Features eventuell nicht unbedingt von einem Benutzergerät108 allein bereitgestellt. Damit wird ein Grund dafür geliefert, warum es wünschenswert sein kann, für eine Kommunikationssitzung statt eines P2P-Netzwerks das Unternehmensnetzwerk204 zu nutzen; das Unternehmensnetzwerk kann für Kommuntkationssitzungsteilnehmer Feature-Angebote bereitstellen, die ansonsten nicht verfügbar sind. - Während einige der Feature-Angebote des Unternehmensnetzwerks
204 vom Kommunikationsserver220 bereitgestellt werden können, können andere Features von einer oder mehreren auf einem Anwendungsserver228 liegenden Anwendungen232 bereitgestellt werden. Beispiele für solche Anwendungen232 umfassen insbesondere eine EC-500-Anwendung (Extension to Cellular), eine Anrufaufbauanwendung, eine Voicemail-Anwendung, eine E-Mail-Anwendung, eine Sprachanwendung, eine Videoanwendung, eine Textanwendung, eine Konferenzanwendung, eine Anrufaufzeichnungsanwendung, eine Kommunikationsprotokollanwendung, eine Sicherheitsanwendung, eine Verschlüsselungsanwendung, eine Zusammenarbeitsanwendung, eine Whiteboard-Anwendung, Mobilitätsanwendungen, Präsenzanwendungen, Medienanwendungen, Messaging-Anwendungen, Bridging-Anwendungen und Anwendungen beliebiger anderer Art, die Kommunikationen ergänzen oder verbessern können. Zusätzlich können ein, zwei, drei oder mehr Anwendungen einer vorgegebenen Art in eine einzelne Kommunikationssitzung aufgenommen werden, ohne vom Schutzumfang der vorliegenden Erfindung abzuweichen. - Der Netzwerkvermittlungsserver
224 kann mit einer Funktionalität versehen sein, die die Echtzeitvermittlung einer Kommunikationssitzung von einem Netzwerk zu einem anderen Netzwerk möglich macht. Des Weiteren kann der Netzwerkvermittlungsserver224 ein oder mehrere Module beinhalten, die ihn dazu befähigen, die QoS eines aktuell für eine Kommunikationssitzung verwendeten Netzwerks sowie möglicher alternativer Kommunikationsnetzwerke zu analysieren. Der Netzwerkvermittlungsserver224 kann auch Module zur Überwachung der Merkmale von Benutzergeräten108 und der damit assoziierten Benutzer beinhalten, um ein optimales Netzwerk zum Befördern einer Kommunikationssitzung zu identifizieren sowie zu bestimmen, ob die Vermittlung einer Kommunikationssitzung von einem Netzwerk an ein anderes Netzwerk gewünscht und/oder möglich ist. Zusätzliche Einzelheiten der Komponenten, die der Netzwerkvermittlungsserver224 umfassen kann, werden in Verbindung mit dem in3 dargestellten Benutzergerät108 beschrieben, obwohl es für einen Fachmann ersichtlich sein wird, dass die im Benutzergerät108 dargestellte Netzwerkvermittlungsfunktionalität teilweise oder gesamt in den Netzwerkvermittlungsserver224 aufgenommen werden kann. - Das in

5 wird ein beispielhaftes Kommunikationsverfahren gemäß mindestens einigen Ausführungsformen der vorliegenden Erfindung beschrieben. Das Verfahren wird initiiert, wenn eine Kommunikationsinitiierungsnachricht von einem Benutzergerät108 oder irgendeinem anderen Netzwerkgerät empfangen wird, das verantwortlich für das Herstellen eines Kommunikationswegs zwischen zwei oder mehr Benutzergeräten108 (z. B. dem Netzwerkvermittlungsserver224 ) ist (Schritt504 ). Die Kommunikationsinitiierungsnachricht kann in Form einer SIP-INVITE-Nachricht oder irgendeiner anderen Nachricht empfangen werden, die Informationen enthält, die das initiierende Benutzergerät108 , ein als Ziel gesetztes Benutzergerät108 , eine als Ziel gesetzte Gruppe von Benutzergeräten108 oder einen gemeinsamen Berührungspunkt für mehrere Benutzergeräte108 identifizieren (z. Die Arten von Merkmalen, die bei diesem Schritt überwacht und bestimmt werden können, umfassen insbesondere die Verarbeitungslast des Benutzergeräts108 , die Mischungslast des Benutzergeräts108 , die Speicherauslastung des Benutzergeräts108 , Benutzerkommunikationsprofile, vom Nutzer bevorzugte Netzwerke, Netzwerk-QoS, Jitter, Netzwerkkosten, Paketverzögerung, Paketverlust und andere Netzwerkmerkmale, die bisher zum Auswählen eines optimalen Kommunikationsnetzwerks genutzt wurden. - Danach übersendet das Netzwerküberwachungsmodul

Das anfänglich genutzte Netzwerk wird nachfolgend als erstes Netzwerk bezeichnet. Das erste Netzwerk kann einem P2P-Netzwerk, einem VPN, einem PSTN (z. B. einer SIP-Verbindungsleitung oder einer Nicht-SIP-Verbindungsleitung), einem LAN, einem WAN, einem SIP-Netzwerk, einem H.323-Netzwerk oder einem Netzwerk einer beliebigen anderen Art entsprechen, das in der Lage ist, Pakete in Verbindung mit einer Kommunikationssitzung zu befördern. - Als Alternative zum Obigen kann die Kommunikationsinitiierungsnachricht anfänglich über ein Standardnetzwerk ankommen, ohne je einer Optimierungsentscheidung unterzogen zu werden. In diesem Szenario kann das Standardnetzwerk als das erste Netzwerk bezeichnet werden. Wenn dies geschieht, kann die in Schritt
512 getroffene Entscheidung zum Optimieren der Netzwerke vor der Anrufherstellung als Umleitung statt eine anfängliche Sitzungsherstellung charakterisiert werden. - Sobald die Kommunikationssitzung hergestellt ist, wird das Verfahren fortgesetzt, indem das Netzwerküberwachungsmodul
324 Merkmale des Benutzergeräts/der Benutzergeräte108 , das/die in die Kommunikationssitzung involviert ist/sind, den Benutzer des Benutzergeräts/der Benutzergeräte108 , das/die in die Kommunikationssitzung involviert ist/sind, potenzielle andere Geräte (z. B. Unternehmensnetzwerkgeräte), die zur Beteiligung an der Kommunikationssitzung verfügbar sind, das erste Netzwerk, potenzielle andere Netzwerke, die zur Beteiligung an der Kommunikationssitzung verfügbar sind, und die Kommunikationssitzung selbst überwacht (Schritt516 ). - Wenn diese verschiedenen Entitäten überwacht werden, kann das Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul
328 kontinuierlich oder periodisch bestimmen, ob es notwendig oder wünschenswert ist, die Kommunikationssitzung an ein alternatives Netzwerk zu vermitteln. Diese Entscheidung kann getroffen werden, indem als Erstes bestimmt wird, ob sich eine oder mehrere der überwachten Merkmale geändert haben (Schritt520 ). Wenn diese Frage bejahend beantwortet wird, dann kann das Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul328 ferner bestimmen, ob die Änderungen in den Kriterien vordefinierte Kriterien erfüllen, die festgesetzt wurden, um zu identifizieren, dass eine Netzwerkvermittlung wünschenswert ist (Schritt524 ). Wie ersichtlich ist, kann sich das Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul328 auf die Datenstruktur332 beziehen, um zu bestimmen, ob die Kommunikationssitzung an ein alternatives Netzwerk vermittelt werden soll. - Wenn diese Frage auch bejahend beantwortet wird, dann identifiziert das Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul
328 das am besten geeignete alternative Netzwerk zum Rosten der Kommunikationssitzung (Schritt528 ). Dieses alternative Netzwerk kann einem P2P-Netzwerk, einem VPN, einem PSTN oder einem Netzwerk einer beliebigen anderen Art entsprechen, das in der Lage ist, Pakete in Verbindung mit einer Kommunikationssitzung zu befördern. Darüber hinaus kann ein gleiches physikalisches Netzwerk für das alternative Netzwerk genutzt werden, das für das erste Netzwerk genutzt wurde. Der Unterschied zwischen dem ersten Netzwerk und dem alternativen Netzwerk kann sein, dass unterschiedliche Dienstanbieter benutzt werden, um die Kommunikationssitzung zu befördern. Zum Beispiel kann das erste „Netzwerk” einer über einen ersten P2P-Anbieter hergestellten P2P-Kommunikation entsprechen und das alternative Netzwerk kann einer über einen anderen P2P-Anbieter hergestellten P2P-Kommunikation entsprechen. Als Alternative kann das erste Netzwerk einem VPN mit einem ersten Untemehmensnetzwerk204 entsprechen und das alternative Netzwerk kann einem VPN mit demselben Unternehmensnetzwerk204 entsprechen, jedoch wird ein anderer Zugriffspunkt236 oder ein anderes Kommunikationsprofil benutzt, um das VPN herzustellen. - Die Identifikation einer P2P-Kommunikation als das alternative Netzwerk kann im Vergleich zum Identifizieren eines bestehenden Netzwerks als das alternative Netzwerk ein paar zusätzliche Schritte erfordern, weil ein „P2P-Netzwerk”, wie hierin verwendet, nicht unbedingt ein physikalisches Netzwerk per se ist. Vielmehr wird, wenn zwischen zwei oder mehr Benutzern eine P2P-Verbindung hergestellt wird, ein WAN, das Internet oder irgendeine andere bestehende Netzwerkinfrastruktur ausgenutzt, um eine P2P-Kommunikation zwischen den Benutzern herzustellen. Deshalb muss, damit ein P2P-Netzwerk als ein mögliches alternatives Netzwerk analysiert werden kann, ein 2-stufiger Prozess durchgeführt werden. Als Erstes wird eine P2P-Kommunikationssitzung hergestellt und als Qualitätsprüfkommunikationssitzung markiert. Diese Kommunikationssitzung kann im Hintergrund von den bereits in der Kommunikationssitzung im ersten Netzwerk involvierten Benutzergeräten hergestellt werden, wodurch Benutzerverwirrung minimiert wird. Nachdem die Qualitätsprüfkommunikationssitzung hergestellt worden ist, werden über die Qualitätsprüfkommunikationssitzung Prüfpakete übertragen, um die Qualität des P2P-Netzwerks zu bestimmen und ob es ein geeignetes alternatives Netzwerk ist.
- Sobald das alternative Kommunikationsnetzwerk identifiziert worden ist, wird das Verfahren fortgesetzt, indem das Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul
328 das Kommunikationsmodul336 dazu aufruft, im alternativen Netzwerk eine doppelte Kommunikationssitzung herzustellen (Schritt532 ). Sobald die doppelte Kommunikationssitzung hergestellt worden ist, vermittelt das Kommunikationsmodul336 die Kommunikationssitzung an das alternative Netzwerk (Schritt536 ). Nachdem das Kommunikationsmodul336 bestätigt hat, dass die Kommunikationssitzung erfolgreich an das alternative Netzwerk vermittelt worden ist, kann das Kommunikationsmodul336 die Kommunikationssitzung im ersten Netzwerk optional fallen lassen, obwohl dieser Schritt unter Umständen nicht notwendig ist, falls die Kommunikationseinstellungen des Benutzers anzeigen, dass eine schnelle Rückvermittlung an das erste Netzwerk gewünscht wird, falls möglich und falls es die Bedingungen erlauben (Schritt540 ). - Danach, oder wenn eine der Fragen in den Schritten
520 oder524 verneinend beantwortet wird, wird das Verfahren bis Schritt544 fortgesetzt, um zu bestimmen, ob die Kommunikationssitzung abgeschlossen ist (Schritt544 ). Wenn die Kommunikationssitzung nicht abgeschlossen ist, dann kehrt das Verfahren zu Schritt516 zurück. Ansonsten wird die Kommunikationssitzung beendet und die verschiedenen, zuvor benutzten Ressourcen zum Ermöglichen der Kommunikationssitzung werden für andere Benutzungszwecke freigegeben (Schritt548 ). - Das Verfahren kann dann entweder enden oder zu Schritt
504 zurückkehren, sobald eine weitere Kommunikationsinitiierungsnachricht empfangen wird. - In der vorangehenden Beschreibung wurden Verfahren zu Zwecken der Veranschaulichung in einer bestimmten Reihenfolge beschrieben. Es sollte ersichtlich sein, dass die Verfahren in alternativen Ausführungsformen in einer anderen als der beschriebenen Reihenfolge durchgeführt werden können. Auch sollte ersichtlich sein, dass die oben beschriebenen Verfahren von Hardware-Komponenten durchgeführt werden oder in Sequenzen maschinenausführbarer Befehle ausgebildet sein können, die benutzt werden können, um zu verursachen, dass eine Maschine, etwa ein Vielzweckprozessor oder ein Spezialzweckprozessor oder Logikschaltungen, die mit den Befehlen programmiert sind, die Verfahren durchführt. Diese maschinenausführbaren Befehle können auf einem oder mehreren maschinenlesbaren Medien gespeichert sein, etwa CD-ROMs oder einer anderen Art von optischen Platten, Disketten, ROMs, RAMs, EPROMs, EEPROMs, Magnet- oder Optikkarten, Flash-Speichern oder anderen Arten maschinenlesbarer Medien, die zum Speichern elektronischer Befehle geeignet sind. Als Alternative können die Verfahren über eine Kombination von Hard- und Software durchgeführt werden.
- In der Beschreibung wurden spezielle Einzelheiten genannt, um ein eingehendes Verständnis der Ausführungsformen zu bewirken. Es versteht sich jedoch für den Durchschnittsfachmann, dass die Ausführungsformen ohne diese speziellen Einzelheiten praktisch ausgeführt werden können. Zum Beispiel können Schaltungen in Blockschemata gezeigt werden, um die Verständlichkeit der Ausführungsformen nicht durch unnötige Einzelheiten zu beeinträchtigen. In anderen Fällen können bekannte Schaltungen, Prozesse, Algorithmen, Strukturen und Techniken ohne unnötige Einzelheiten gezeigt werden, um zu vermeiden, dass die Verständlichkeit der Ausführungsformen beeinträchtigt wird.
- Auch wird darauf hingewiesen, dass die Ausführungsformen als Prozess beschrieben wurden, der als Ablaufschema, Flussdiagramm, Datenflussdiagramm, Strukturdiagramm oder Blockdiagramm dargestellt ist. Obwohl ein Ablaufschema die Operationen eventuell als sequenziellen Prozess beschreibt, können viele der Operationen parallel oder gleichzeitig durchgeführt werden. Zusätzlich können die Operationen in einer neuen Reihenfolge angeordnet werden. Ein Prozess wird beendet, wenn dessen Operationen abgeschlossen sind, könnte jedoch zusätzliche Schritte aufweisen, die die Figur nicht umfasst. Ein Prozess kann einem Verfahren, einer Funktion, einer Prozedur, einer Unterroutine, einem Unterprogramm etc. entsprechen. Wenn ein Prozess einer Funktion entspricht, entspricht seine Beendigung einer Rückkehr der Funktion zu der aufrufenden Funktion oder der Hauptfunktion.
- Darüber hinaus können Ausführungsformen durch Hardware, Software, Firmware, Middleware, Mikrocode, Hardware-Beschreibungssprachen oder eine beliebige Kombination davon implementiert werden. Der Programmcode oder Programmcodesegmente zum Durchführen der notwendigen Aufgaben, wenn er/sie in Software, Firmware, Middleware oder Mikrocode implementiert ist/sind, kann/können in einem maschinenlesbaren Medium, etwa einem Speichermedium, gespeichert sein. Ein Prozessor/Prozessoren kann/können die notwendigen Aufgaben durchführen. Ein Codesegment kann eine Prozedur, eine Funktion, ein Unterprogramm, ein Programm, eine Routine, eine Unterroutine, ein Modul, ein Software-Paket, eine Klasse oder eine beliebige Kombination von Befehlen, Datenstrukturen oder Programmanweisungen darstellen. Ein Codesegment kann durch Übersenden und/oder Empfangen von Informationen, Daten, Argumenten, Parametern oder Speicherinhalten an ein anderes Codesegment oder eine Hardwareschaltung gekoppelt sein. Informationen, Argumente, Parameter, Daten etc. können über ein beliebiges geeignetes Mittel, einschließlich gemeinsamer Speichernutzung, Nachrichtenübersendung, Token Passing, Netzwerkübertragung etc., übersendet, weitergeleitet oder übertragen werden.
- Während veranschaulichende Ausführungsformen der Erfindung hierin ausführlich beschrieben wurden, sollte es sich verstehen, dass die Erfindungsgedanken ansonsten anders ausgebildet und gebraucht werden können und dass die beiliegenden Ansprüche so auszulegen sind, dass sie diese Änderungen umfassen, außer sie sind durch den Stand der Technik begrenzt.
Claims (21)
- Ein Verfahren, das umfasst: Überwachung von Merkmalen eines Benutzergeräts, das involviert oder kurz vor einer Involvierung in einer Kommunikationssitzung mit einem anderen Benutzergerät ist; basierend auf den überwachten Merkmalen des Benutzergeräts Identifizieren eines zweiten Netzwerks zum Befördern der Kommunikationssitzung; und Durchführen: (i) des Herstellens der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; oder (ii) des Vermittelns der Kommunikationssitzung von einem ersten Netzwerk an das zweite Netzwerk.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei das zweite Netzwerk ein VPN und/oder ein P2P-Netzwerk und/oder ein PSTN und/oder ein LAN und/oder ein WAN und/oder ein SIP-Netzwerk und/oder ein H.323-Netzwerk beinhaltet.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei (ii) durchgeführt wird und wobei das Vermitteln beinhaltet: als Erstes Herstellen der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; als Zweites Vermitteln der in der Kommunikationssitzung im ersten Netzwerk involvierten Benutzergeräte an die Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; und als Drittes Bestätigen, dass die Benutzergeräte an die Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk vermittelt wurden.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, wobei die im zweiten Netzwerk hergestellte Kommunikationssitzung als Erstes für die Zwecke hergestellt wird zu bestimmen, dass das zweite Netzwerk eine geeignete Alternative zum ersten Netzwerk ist, und wobei das Vermitteln der Benutzergeräte als Reaktion auf das Bestimmen erfolgt, dass das zweite Netzwerk eine geeignete Alternative zum ersten Netzwerk ist.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei das erste Netzwerk und das zweite Netzwerk dasselbe physikalische Netzwerk nutzen, jedoch ein anderes Protokoll und/oder eine andere Netzwerkentität nutzen.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die überwachten Merkmale eine Benutzergerät-Verarbeitungslast und/oder eine Benutzergerät-Mischungslast und/oder eine Benutzergerät-Speicherauslastung beinhalten.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, wobei die Merkmale aller in der Kommunikationssitzung involvierten Benutzergeräte überwacht werden.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, wobei die überwachten Merkmale ferner Benutzerkommunikationsprofile und/oder Benutzernetzwerkeinstellungen beinhalten.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, wobei Eigenschaften des ersten Netzwerks und des zweiten Netzwerks zusätzlich zur Überwachung der Merkmale des Benutzergeräts überwacht werden.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, wobei die Merkmale des ersten und des zweiten Netzwerks Netzwerk-QoS und/oder Jitter und/oder Netzwerkkosten und/oder Paketverzögerung und/oder Paketverlust beinhalten.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei (i) durchgeführt wird, wobei das Verfahren ferner beinhaltet: Überwachen von Merkmalen des in der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk involvierten Benutzergeräts; Bestimmen basierend auf den überwachten Merkmalen des Benutzergeräts, dass die Kommunikationssitzung an ein drittes Netzwerk zu vermitteln ist; und Vermitteln der Kommunikationssitzung vom zweiten Netzwerk an das dritte Netzwerk.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, wobei das dritte Netzwerk entweder das erste Netzwerk oder ein anderes als das erste und das zweite Netzwerk ist.
- Ein computerlesbares Medium, auf dem Befehle gespeichert sind, die verursachen, dass ein Computersystem ein Kommunikationsverfahren ausführt, wobei die Befehle beinhalten: Befehle, die konfiguriert sind, um eine Überwachung von Merkmalen eines Benutzergeräts zu implementieren, das involviert oder kurz vor einer Involvierung in einer Kommunikationssitzung mit einem anderen Benutzergerät ist; Befehle, die konfiguriert sind, um basierend auf den überwachten Merkmalen des Benutzergeräts ein zweites Netzwerk zum Befördern der Kommunikationssitzung zu identifizieren; und Befehle, die konfiguriert sind, um zu verursachen, dass eine der folgenden Aktionen erfolgt: (i) Herstellen der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; oder (ii) Vermitteln der Kommunikationssitzung von einem ersten Netzwerk an das zweite Netzwerk.
- Computerlesbares Medium nach Anspruch 13, wobei das zweite Netzwerk ein VPN und/oder ein P2P-Netzwerk und/oder ein PSTN und/oder ein LAN und/oder ein WAN und/oder ein SIP-Netzwerk und/oder ein H.323-Netzwerk beinhaltet.
- Computerlesbares Medium nach Anspruch 13, wobei die überwachten Merkmale eine Benutzergerät-Verarbeitungslast und/oder eine Benutzergerät-Mischungslast und/oder eine Benutzergerät-Speicherauslastung beinhalten.
- Computerlesbares Medium nach Anspruch 15, wobei die überwachten Merkmale ferner Benutzerkommunikationsprofile und/oder Benutzernetzwerkeinstellungen beinhalten, wobei zusätzlich zum Überwachen der Merkmale des Benutzergeräts Merkmale des ersten Netzwerks und des zweiten Netzwerks überwacht werden und wobei die Merkmale des ersten und des zweiten Netzwerks Netzwerk-QoS und/oder Jitter und/oder Netzwerkkosten und/oder Paketverzögerung und/oder Paketverlust beinhalten.
- Computerlesbares Medium nach Anspruch 13, wobei (ii) durchgeführt wird und wobei das Vermitteln der Kommunikationssitzung vom ersten Netzwerk an das zweite Netzwerk beinhaltet: als Erstes Herstellen der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; als Zweites Vermitteln der in der Kommunikationssitzung im ersten Netzwerk involvierten Benutzergeräte an die Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; und als Drittes Bestätigen, dass die Benutzergeräte an die Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk vermittelt wurden.
- Ein Kommunikationssystem, das beinhaltet: ein Netzwerküberwachungsmodul, das konfiguriert ist, um Merkmale eines Benutzergeräts zu überwachen, das involviert oder kurz vor einer Involvierung in einer Kommunikationssitzung mit einem anderen Benutzergerät ist; ein Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul, das konfiguriert ist, um basierend auf den überwachten Merkmalen des Benutzergeräts ein zweites Netzwerk zum Befördern der Kommunikationssitzung zu identifizieren; und ein Kommunikationsmodul, das konfiguriert ist, um zu verursachen, dass eine der folgenden Aktionen erfolgt: (i) Herstellen der Kommunikationssitzung im zweiten Netzwerk; oder (ii) Vermitteln der Kommunikationssitzung von einem ersten Netzwerk an das zweite Netzwerk.
- Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 18, wobei das zweite Netzwerk entweder ein VPN oder ein P2P-Netzwerk beinhaltet und wobei das erste Netzwerk das andere des VPN oder des P2P-Netzwerks beinhaltet.
- Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 18, wobei das zweite Netzwerk entweder ein VPN oder ein PSTN beinhaltet und wobei das erste Netzwerk das andere des VPN oder des PSTN beinhaltet.
- Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 18, wobei das Netzwerküberwachungsmodul und/oder das Netzwerkvermittlungsmodul und/oder das Kommunikationsmodul auf dem Benutzergerät liegen.
