Abstract
本发明的目的是提供一种粉末,即使将颗粒直径小的无机氧化物干燥后,其粉末也能易于被再分散成基本上不聚集的无机氧化物。本发明涉及通过利用硅烷偶合剂处理无机氧化物的含水分散体并且之后进行干燥而得到的粉末,所述无机氧化物的平均颗粒直径D1通过动态光散射方法测量为3nm-1μm,其中,当粉末被再分散于分散介质时,该粉末的平均颗粒直径D2满足下式(1):1≤D2/D1≤2 (1)。

发明领域
本发明涉及细颗粒的无机氧化物以及易于被再分散的无机氧化物粉末。
发明背景
通过许多无机氧化物细颗粒(一次颗粒)的聚集而形成的无机氧化物颗粒(二次颗粒)是已知的。例如,JP56-120511A公开了一种孔尺寸基本上均匀的多孔粉末及其制备方法,该粉末包括具有铝硅酸盐覆层的球形颗粒聚集体,制造该多孔粉末的方法包括:干燥含均匀尺寸的颗粒而未胶凝化的铝硅酸盐水溶胶,以形成粉末。但是,包括上述出版物中所述的那些在内的常规无机氧化物颗粒(二次颗粒)不能被再分散成形成二次颗粒的无机氧化物细颗粒(一次颗粒)。
JP08-067505A中已显示了能被再分散成无机氧化物细颗粒(一次颗粒)的无机氧化物颗粒(二次颗粒),但是这需要特定的干燥比如喷雾干燥、高温焙烧和几十分钟时间的超声处理。而且,当无机氧化物细颗粒(一次颗粒)具有100nm或更小的尺寸时,该技术不能有效地实现分散。
另外,JP05-008047B公开的那些被称为可再分散的二氧化硅分散体,但是颗粒直径大到1-20μm,并且再分散的程度仅仅至阻止致密沉积物的形成。JP02-001090B公开了能够被均匀分散于有机溶剂中的粉末二氧化硅,它由胶态下的二氧化硅颗粒组成,但是二氧化硅不能被再分散,除非硅溶胶的溶剂中的水含量被减少至10重量%或更少。再者,它不能被再分散于含水溶剂中。
Shikizai,55(9)630-636,1982公开了一种粉末,其中,利用含有氨基的硅烷偶合剂来处理分散于去离子交换水中的高度分散的硅胶粉末。为了测量粉末的表面电荷,将被处理的粉末分散于去离子水中。但是,由于形成了上清液,导致大多数聚集的颗粒没有被再分散。
本发明提供了一种粉末,即使将颗粒直径小的无机氧化物干燥后,该粉末也能够易于被再分散成基本上不聚集的无机氧化物。
发明概述
也就是说,本发明涉及如下内容:
(1)一种通过利用硅烷偶合剂处理无机氧化物的含水分散体并且之后进行干燥而得到的粉末,所述无机氧化物的平均颗粒直径D1通过动态光散射方法测量为3nm-1μm,其中,当粉末被再分散于分散介质时,该粉末的平均颗粒直径D2满足下式(1)的关系:

(2)根据以上(1)的粉末,其中利用含水溶剂合成无机氧化物。
(3)根据以上(1)或(2)的粉末,其中无机氧化物是多孔材料。
(4)根据以上(1)-(3)任何之一的粉末,其中无机氧化物具有均匀的孔直径,其颗粒的平均颗粒直径DL通过动态光散射方法测量为10-400nm,并且由DL换算的比表面积SL和通过BET方法测量的颗粒的氮吸收比表面积SB之间的差值SB-SL是250m2/g或更大。
(5)根据以上(1)-(4)任何之一的粉末,其中无机氧化物是二氧化硅。
(6)根据以上(1)-(5)任何之一的粉末,其中硅烷偶合剂含有季铵盐和/或氨基。
(7)一种制备以上(1)-(6)任何之一的粉末的方法,它包括步骤:利用硅烷偶合剂处理无机氧化物的含水分散体,随后干燥该分散体。
(8)根据以上(7)制备粉末的方法,其中根据加热干燥、真空干燥和超临界干燥中的至少任何一种方式实施干燥步骤。
(9)一种分散方法,它包括在分散介质中分散粉末的步骤,其中粉末是上述(1)-(6)任何之一的粉末,并且分散步骤中使用了超声波。
(10)一种分散方法,它包括在分散介质中分散粉末的步骤,其中粉末是上述(1)-(6)任何之一的粉末,并且在分散步骤中,调节分散体的pH为5或更低,或者是9或更高。
实施本发明的最好方式
以下将详细描述本发明。
本发明无机氧化物的平均颗粒直径通过动态光散射方法测量优选为3nm-1μm,更优选3-300nm,进一步优选3-200nm。当无机氧化物被分散于分散介质或粘结剂中时,只要颗粒直径是200nm或更小,则可得到更透明的产物。特别是,当将其用作喷墨记录介质的油墨吸收层时,由于高透明性,使得得到的印刷物品具有好的显色性和高的色密度。当直径大于200nm时,透明性降低,并且当直径大于1μm时,颗粒趋于沉淀。由此其应用决定了此时不是优选情况。
在本发明中,用于无机氧化物的含水分散体的分散介质可以是任意介质,只要它含有20重量%或更多的水并且不产生沉淀即可。优选利用水和选自一种或多种醇的溶剂的混合溶剂。对于醇,低级醇比如乙醇和甲醇是优选的。
本发明中,可通过任何方法来实施无机氧化物的分散体的干燥,只要该方法可除去分散介质即可。但是,比如加热干燥、真空干燥和超临界干燥的方法是优选的,并且从方便的角度出发,加热干燥是更优选的。优选温度是40℃或更高,更优选是40℃-100℃。
本发明的特征在于:在干燥之前和干燥之后,无机氧化物满足下式(1),其中D1是利用硅烷偶合剂对无机氧化物处理之前该化合物的平均颗粒直径,而D2是将其干燥后、再分散于分散介质中时的平均颗粒直径。利用动态光散射方法测量平均颗粒直径。可利用水、醇或甲苯作为测量D2时的分散介质。这些分散介质中的至少一种介质充分满足式(1)。

当D2/D1=1时,则意味着可再分散性非常令人满意。另一方面,D2/D1超过2则意味着可再分散性差,并且即使当无机氧化物被用于例如各种添加剂比如除臭剂和膜填充剂、化妆品、颜料、漆料、塑料填料等时,不能得到理想的效果。
本发明中,不对无机氧化物作特别的限定,它包括硅,碱土金属比如镁和钙以及属于第二族的锌,属于第三族的铝、镓、稀土等,属于第四组的钛和锆等,属于第五组的磷和钒等,属于第七组的锰和碲等,属于第八组的铁和钴等的氧化物。特别是,使用硅基无机细颗粒是有利的。
对于本发明的无机氧化物,一些氧化物是利用含水溶剂(含水量为20重量%或更多的溶剂)合成的。含水溶剂中合成的无机氧化物通常在颗粒上具有许多羟基基团,并且当不进行任何处理就对其进行干燥时,羟基之间彼此反应。由此使得无机氧化物不能再分散于分散介质中。根据本发明,至今在溶剂中仅以分散态处理的无机氧化物可被处理成粉末。因此,本发明的粉末具有优良的处理性能、运输成本和稳定性,并且可容易制备具有理想浓度的分散体。胶态二氧化硅,比如Nissan Chemical Industries制造的SNOWTEX是无机氧化物的实例。
而且,当无机氧化物为多孔材料时,它具有更多数目的羟基基团,并且由此使得影响更大。作为多孔材料的实例,有通过以下制备方法制备的材料,该方法包括下列步骤:使含有金属氧化物和/或其前体的金属源与模板(template)和水混合,以制造金属氧化物/模板复合物的溶胶,以及从复合物除去模板。例子为如WO02-00550中所示的多孔材料。
具体而言,优选的无机氧化物具有均匀的细孔直径,其颗粒的平均颗粒直径DL通过动态光散射方法测量为10-400nm,并且由DL换算的比表面积SL和通过BET方法测量的颗粒的氮吸收比表面积SB之间的差值SB-SL是250m2/g或更大。下面将详细描述这些无机氧化物。
具有均匀孔直径的无机氧化物代表这样的无机氧化物,其中,由氮吸收等温曲线确定孔直径和总孔隙体积(由氮吸收方法测量的孔径为50nm或更小的细孔体积),总孔隙体积的50%或更多包括在平均孔隙直径的±50%范围内。而且,通过TEM观察可以确定细孔是均匀的。
由动态光散射方法测量的平均颗粒直径DL(nm)换算得到的比表面积SL是根据以下方程式确定的:SL=6×103/(密度(g/cm3)×DL,此时假定多孔物质的颗粒是球形。该值与通过BET方法测量的氮吸收比表面积SB之间的差值SB-SL是250m2/g或更大,这一事实意味着多孔物质的颗粒是高度多孔的。当该值小时,多孔物质内部吸收物质的能力降低,并且由此使得例如当该颗粒被用作油墨吸收层时,吸收油墨量降低。优选SB-SL是1500m2/g或更小。当该值大时,有时处理性质会变差。
本发明中,利用硅烷偶合剂处理无机氧化物。当无机氧化物含有羟基时,硅烷偶合剂与羟基反应,从而降低了无机氧化物颗粒之间的反应性,由此易使颗粒分散。而且,酸化或加入阳离子物质或有机溶剂也有利于稳定分散。
所使用的硅烷偶合剂优选是下式(2)代表的化合物:

其中,X代表具有1-12个碳原子的烃基、被季铵基团和/或氨基取代并且具有1-12个碳原子的烃基、或被季铵基团和/或氨基取代并且具有1-12个碳原子的烃基与一个或多个氮原子交联的基团,R代表氢原子或具有1-12个碳原子的烃基,并且n是1-3的整数。
R的具体实例包括甲基、乙基、丙基、异丙基、丁基、异丁基、叔丁基、戊基、异戊基、新戊基、己基、异己基、环己基和苯甲基等。优选具有1-3个碳原子的烷基,并且最优选甲基和乙基。
而且,X基团中,具有1-12个碳原子的烃基的具体实例包括甲基、乙基、丙基、异丙基、丁基、异丁基、环己基和苯甲基等。优选是甲基、乙基、丙基、丁基、环己基和苯甲基。
再者,X基团中,具有1-12个碳原子并且被季铵基团和/或氨基取代的烃基的具体实例包括氨甲基、氨乙基、氨丙基、氨异丙基、氨丁基、氨异丁基、氨环己基和氨苯甲基等。优选是氨乙基、氨丙基、氨环己基和氨苯甲基。
另外,X基团中,被季铵基团和/或氨基取代并且具有1-12个碳原子的烃基与一个或多个氮原子交联而成的具有1-12个碳原子的烃基与上述基团相同。优选与被季铵基团和/或氨基取代的烃基交联的氮原子数目是1-4。
由以上通式(2)所代表的化合物的具体实例包括甲基三乙氧基硅烷、丁基三甲氧基硅烷、二甲基二甲氧基硅烷、氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷、(氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷、氨丙基三乙氧基硅烷、氨丙基二甲基乙氧基硅烷、氨丙基甲基二乙氧基硅烷、氨丁基三乙氧基硅烷、3-(N-十八酰甲基-2-氨乙基氨基)-丙基三甲氧基硅烷氢氯化物、氨乙基氨甲基苯乙基三甲氧基硅烷和3-[2-(2-氨乙基氨乙基氨基)丙基]三甲氧基硅烷等。
以硅烷偶合剂与无机氧化物的重量比计,优选硅烷偶合剂的量是0.002-2,更优选是0.01-0.7。当硅烷偶合剂含有氮原子时,处理后无机氧化物的干重中的氮原子的重量比(以下称之为含量)优选是0.1-10%,更优选是0.3-6%。当该含量太低时,有时难以得到本发明的优点。当该含量超过10%时,产品有时缺乏可加工性以及工业化所需的其它性能。
对于利用硅烷偶合剂处理的方法,可将偶合剂直接加入无机氧化物的含水分散体中。或者,事先将无机氧化物分散于有机溶剂,之后在水和催化剂存在的条件下水解,然后加入偶合剂。优选的处理条件是:在室温至含水分散体的沸点温度下处理几分钟至几天,更优选在25℃-55℃的温度下处理2分钟至5小时。
有机溶剂可以是醇、酮、醚和酯等。所使用的更具体实例包括醇比如甲醇、乙醇、丙醇和丁醇,酮比如甲基乙基酮和甲基异丁基酮,乙二醇醚比如甲基溶纤剂、乙基溶纤剂和丙二醇一丙基醚,二醇比如乙二醇、丙二醇和己二醇,酯比如乙酸甲酯、乙酸乙酯、乳酸甲酯以及乳酸乙酯。对有机溶剂的量没有特别的限定,但是有机溶剂与硅烷偶合剂的重量比优选是1-500,更优选是5-50。
对于催化剂,可以使用无机酸比如盐酸、硝酸或硫酸,有机酸比如乙酸、草酸或甲苯磺酸,或表现出碱性的化合物比如氨、胺或碱金属氢氧化物。
理想的是,对于组成硅烷偶合剂的每摩尔Si-OR基团而言,上述硅烷偶合剂水解所必需的水量是0.5-50mol,优选1-25mol。理想的是,每摩尔硅烷偶合剂加入0.01-1mol、优选0.05-0.8摩尔的催化剂。
通常在常压和溶剂的沸点或更低的温度下进行上述硅烷偶合剂的水解,更优选的温度是低于沸点约5℃或10℃的温度。当使用耐热压力容器比如高压釜时,可在高于上述温度的温度下进行。
本发明中,在无机氧化物被干燥之后,使其分散体再分散的方法可利用搅拌器搅拌的方法,或利用带有超声波的分散器、球磨或高压分散器的方法等。鉴于可在短时期内,例如大约1分钟内达到分散效果并且可保持无机氧化物的颗粒结构的观点出发,优选利用超声波。可根据本发明无机氧化物的分散体的具体用途来合适地选择分散介质,但是优选利用选自水和醇的一种溶剂、或它们中的两种或两种以上的混合溶剂。对于醇,低级醇比如乙醇和甲醇是优选的。当硅烷偶合剂含有季铵盐和/或氨基时,优选将分散体的pH调节至5或更低,或者是9和更高,从而增大利用硅烷偶合剂处理的无机氧化物的表面电荷绝对值。
实施例
将参考以下的实施例对本发明进行更详细的描述。
利用Otsuka Electronics Co.,Ltd制造的激光ζ电位静电计ELS-800、根据动态光散射法来测量平均颗粒直径。
利用Quantachrome制造的AUTOSORB-1和氮来测量孔分布和比表面积。通过BJH方法来计算平均孔分布。通过BJH方法确定的孔分布微分曲线的中孔区域中的峰值来计算平均孔直径。通过BET方法计算比表面积。
实施例1
将2.9g 3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷加入100g硅溶胶中,所述硅溶胶(Nissan Chemical Industries,Ltd.制造的ST-N)具有15nm的平均颗粒直径并且被调节至20重量%的固体质量浓度。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,在搅拌条件下加入6N盐酸直至pH达到2.1。将所得到的溶胶在80℃加热进行干燥,以得到粉末。将42.5g蒸馏水加入所得到的7.5g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,由此得到透明的溶胶。pH是2.5,再分散之后的平均颗粒直径是15nm,并且D2/D1是1.0。
实施例2

实施例3
将1.8g 3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷加入200g珍珠项链状硅溶胶中,所述硅溶胶(Nissan Chemical Industries,Ltd.制造的ST-PSSO)具有140nm的平均颗粒直径并且被调节至13重量%的固体质量浓度。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,在搅拌条件下加入6N盐酸直至pH达到2.3。将所得到的溶胶在80℃加热进行干燥,以得到粉末。将33.8g蒸馏水加入所得到的14.5g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,由此得到透明的溶胶。pH是3.0,再分散之后的平均颗粒直径是155nm,并且D2/D1是1.1。
实施例4
将3.6g 3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷加入200g珍珠项链状硅溶胶中,所述硅溶胶(Nissan Chemical Industries,Ltd.制造的ST-PSSO)具有140nm的平均颗粒直径并且被调节至13重量%的固体质量浓度。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,在搅拌条件下加入6N盐酸直至pH达到2.4。将所得到的溶胶在80℃加热进行干燥,以得到粉末。将33.8g蒸馏水加入所得到的14.5g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,由此得到透明的溶胶。pH是3.1,再分散之后的平均颗粒直径是150nm,并且D2/D1是1.1。
实施例5
将利用666.7g水稀释的333.3g水玻璃No.3(SiO2=29重量%,Na2O=9.5重量%))溶液加入1000g阳离子交换树脂(Amberlite,IR-120B)的1000g水的分散体中,所述树脂已预先被转化为H+-型。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,过滤出阳离子交换树脂,以得到2000g活性二氧化硅水溶液。活性二氧化硅水溶液中SiO2的浓度是5.0重量%。
将Asahi Denka Co.,Ltd制造的100g Pluronic P103溶解在8700g水中,并且在搅拌条件下,将1200g上述活性二氧化硅水溶液加入35℃的温水浴中。混合物的pH是4.0。此时,水/P103的重量比是98.4,并且P103/SiO2的重量比是1.67。将该混合物在35℃下搅拌15分钟后,将其保持在95℃并且使反应进行24小时。将预定量的乙醇加入该溶液,并且利用超滤装置除去P103,以得到透明的无机氧化物溶胶(A),其SiO2浓度是8.2重量%。
溶胶(A)样品的平均颗粒直径通过动态光散射方法测量为200nm,并且换算的比表面积是13.6m2/g。在105℃下干燥该溶胶,以得到无机氧化物。样品的平均孔直径是10nm,而孔体积是1.11ml/g。通过BET方法测量的氮吸收比表面积是540m2/g,并且与换算的比表面积之差是526.4m2/g。
将0.6g 3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷加入100g溶胶(A)中。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,在搅拌条件下加入6N盐酸直至pH达到2.1。将所得到的溶胶在80℃加热进行干燥,以得到粉末。将28.5g蒸馏水加入所得到的4.3g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,由此得到透明的溶胶。pH是2.6,再分散之后的平均颗粒直径是220nm,并且D2/D1是1.0。
实施例6
将利用200g水稀释的100g水玻璃No.3(SiO2=30重量%,Na2O=9.5重量%))溶液加入300g阳离子交换树脂(Amberlite,IR-120B)的300g水的分散体中,所述树脂已预先被转化为H+-型。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,过滤出阳离子交换树脂,以得到600g活性二氧化硅水溶液。溶液的SiO2浓度是5.0重量%。利用1675g纯化水稀释该溶液。另外,将其中溶解有50g Pluronic P103的500g水溶液、200g的0.015mol/l氢氧化钠水溶液、以及25g三甲基苯混合,并且将该混合物在60℃下加热1小时,以得到白色的透明溶液。将溶液滴加至稀释的活性二氧化硅水溶液之后,将它们整体混合,使该混合物在80℃下加热24小时。将预定量的乙醇加入该溶液,并且利用超滤装置除去P103,以得到无机氧化物溶胶(B),其SiO2浓度是8.2重量%。
溶胶(B)样品的平均颗粒直径通过动态光散射方法测量为195nm,并且换算的比表面积是15m2/g。在105℃下干燥该溶胶,以得到无机氧化物。其平均孔直径是18nm,而孔体积是1.67ml/g。通过BET方法测量的氮吸收比表面积是413m2/g,并且与换算的比表面积之差是398m2/g。
将80g乙醇和2.4g 3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷加入100g的溶胶(B)中。在将该混合物充分搅拌之后,在搅拌条件下加入6N盐酸直至pH达到2.5。将所得到的溶胶在70℃加热进行干燥,以得到粉末。将47.5g蒸馏水加入所得到的2.5g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,由此得到透明的溶胶。pH是2.5,再分散之后的平均颗粒直径是230nm,并且D2/D1是1.2。
对比实施例1
除了省略实施例1中加入3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷的操作之外,按照同样的方式重复进行了实施例1。尽管将42.5g蒸馏水加入所得到的7.5g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,但是没有得到溶胶。平均颗粒直径是990nm,并且D2/D1是66.0。
对比实施例2
除了省略实施例6中加入3-(2-氨乙基)氨丙基三甲氧基硅烷的操作之外,按照同样的方式重复进行了实施例6。尽管将28.5g蒸馏水加入所得到的4.3g粉末中,并且利用超声分散器将该粉末分散1分钟,但是没有得到溶胶。平均颗粒直径是1800nm,并且D2/D1是9.0。
尽管参考具体的实施例对本发明进行了描述,但是很显然对本领域的技术人员而言,在不背离本发明实质和范围的情况下可对本发明作出各种变化和修正。

工业实用性
本发明的无机氧化物的可再分散性非常令人满意,因此,它适合用于例如各种添加剂,比如除臭剂和膜填充剂,化妆品、颜料、漆料和塑料填料等。
而且,由于至今在溶剂中仅以分散态处理的无机氧化物可被处理成粉末,因此,该粉末具有优良的处理性能、运输成本和稳定性,并且可容易制备具有所需浓度的分散体。
Claims (11)
1.一种粉末,它是通过利用硅烷偶合剂处理无机氧化物的含水分散体并且之后进行干燥而得到的,所述无机氧化物的平均颗粒直径D1通过动态光散射方法测量为3nm-1μm,其中,当粉末被再分散于分散介质时,该粉末的平均颗粒直径D2满足下式(1):
1≤D2/D1≤2 (1)。
2.根据权利要求1的粉末,其中利用含水溶剂合成无机氧化物。
3.根据权利要求1或2的粉末,其中无机氧化物是多孔材料。
4.根据权利要求1-3任何之一的粉末,其中无机氧化物具有均匀的孔直径,其颗粒的平均颗粒直径DL通过动态光散射方法测量为10-400nm,并且由DL换算的比表面积SL和通过BET方法测量的颗粒的氮吸收比表面积SB之间的差值SB-SL是250m2/g或更大。
5.根据权利要求1-4任何之一的粉末,其中无机氧化物是二氧化硅。
6.根据权利要求1-5任何之一的粉末,其中硅烷偶合剂含有季铵盐和/或氨基。
7.一种制备权利要求1-6任何之一粉末的方法,它包括下列步骤:利用硅烷偶合剂处理无机氧化物的含水分散体,随后干燥该分散体。
8.根据权利要求7的制备粉末的方法,其中根据加热干燥、真空干燥和超临界干燥中的至少任何一种方式实施干燥步骤。
9.一种分散方法,它包括在分散介质中分散粉末的步骤,其中粉末是权利要求1-6任何之一的粉末,并且分散步骤中使用了超声波。
10.一种分散方法,它包括在分散介质中分散粉末的步骤,其中粉末是权利要求1-6任何之一的粉末,并且在分散步骤中,调节分散体的pH为5或更低,或者是9或更高。
