Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及具有连续基本记录单元的光记录介质的领域,特别涉及用于存储链接类型信息的记录介质和使用链接类型信息处理缺陷区的方法,链接类型信息指明链接方案是否应用于紧跟缺陷区之后的区域。
背景技术
由于可重写的数字通用光盘(DVD-RW)和可记录的数字通用光盘(DVD-R)的基本记录单元是位置连续的,与那些被物理标识符(PID)区域或缓冲区(分配出的对应于精确控制主轴马达要求的特殊区域)划分的随机访问存储器DVD(DVD-RAM)相反,要求精确定位DVD-RW中每个基本单元的记录开始点。所述DVD-RAM的基本记录单元可以是一个扇区而所述DVD-RW的基本记录单元可以是一个纠错码(ECC)块。
由于具有相同物理格式的DVD-R和DVD-RW的基本记录单元如上所述连续分布,用于递增记录模式,即在该模式下数据传输暂时不连续或者新数据跟在前面数据后进行记录,所以所述DVD-R和DVD-RW采用一种将下一记录开始点的预定数目的字节(例如3字节)分配为链接区的链接方案。另外,还有两种适用于递增记录的链接区大小:2k字节和32k字节。
对于DVD-RW,当一个缺陷区登记在记录管理数据(RMD)区中的缺陷表中时,类似于在登记的缺陷区之后记录实际用户数据时的递增记录模式,该DVD-RW随同链接方案一起采用一种有限重写记录模式。所以,现有的DVD-RW规范仅将链接方案应用于所述的递增记录模式和有限重写记录模式。该DVD-RW规范没有定义用于处理缺陷区的特定链接方案,例如定义缺陷区后的链接区。
图1是说明发生在一般的递增记录模式下的链接方案图,表示出旧数据4、一个32k字节的链接区2和新数据7。参考图1,当完成旧数据4的记录而没有填满一个基本数据单元(图1中的一个ECC块)时,从该基本数据单元的剩余部分记录填充数据5,其中在同步标志1之后的第一扇区没有记录数据。在用于递增记录的32k字节链接区2中,新用户数据7的记录在记录链接数据6之后开始。
同时,当诸如摆动(wobble)信号或平台前凹坑(land pre-pit)(LPP)信号等参考信号不能产生如同在不可校正误差的情况时,即,在穿过的多数轨道上存在严重缺陷的情况下,当拾取单元通过缺陷区时所有信号(摆动信号、LPP信号等等)均不能生成。在这种情况下,连续记录是不可能的,并且由于数据必须记录在缺陷区之后,所以应采用与递增记录模式中使用的链接方案类似的链接方案。
在DVD-RW中,数据记录在凹槽轨道中,而表示物理ECC块数量的信息用前凹坑的形式记录在平台轨道中,并作为LPP信号被引用。另外,凹槽轨道以预定频率摆动。
由于如上所述紧跟缺陷区之后发生仅为一般递增记录模式或有限重写记录模式定义的链接方案,所以需要定义一种新的链接方案。因为由DVD-RW规范定义的链接方案仅适用于递增记录模式和有限重写记录模式,所以新的链接方案应该应用于紧跟缺陷区之后的区域。
紧跟缺陷区之后链接的类型需要与用于一般递增记录模式和有限重写记录模式中的链接类型区分开。即,当停止记录如一次能够记录的数据那么多的数据之后记录新数据时,发生一般递增记录模式和有限重写记录模式中的链接。在一次写记录模式(write-at-once recording mode)中不定义这种链接。
然而,根据本发明,紧跟在缺陷区之后发生链接,以及在没有完全进行一次能够记录那么多的记录数据的情况下发生链接。
发明内容
因此,本发明的一个目的是提供一种记录介质,用于存储链接类型信息,该链接类型信息指明是否紧跟在缺陷区之后发生链接,该记录介质中基本记录单元位置连续分布。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种记录介质,其中紧跟在缺陷区之后分配与链接区有相同作用的预定数目的纠错码(ECC)块,该记录介质中基本记录单元位置连续分布。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种处理缺陷区的方法,其中根据指明记录时是否紧跟在缺陷区之后发生链接的链接类型信息,在紧跟缺陷区后分配预定的链接区之后记录用户数据。
本发明还有一个目的是提供一种处理缺陷区的方法,其中在跟随缺陷区的预定数目的ECC块之后开始用户数据的记录。

为了实现本发明的上述目的和其它目的,本发明提供了一种用于记录和/或再现记录介质上的数据的记录和/或再现装置,包括:拾取器件,用于在记录介质上记录数据和/或从记录介质中再现数据;和处理单元,用于在记录介质的缺陷管理区中登记缺陷区列表,并且分配紧跟在该缺陷区中的一个之后的链接区。

现在详细引用本发明的优选实施例,在附图中示出了这些例子,其中相同的参考标号指相同的单元。为了解释本发明,参考附图描述优选实施例如下。
图2说明根据本发明处理缺陷区方法的一个例子。在确认过程中,在记录管理数据(RMD)区中登记缺陷区列表之后,就在缺陷区后分配一个链接区,并且新的用户数据记录在链接区后。
所述RMD区存储在使用记录介质时找到的缺陷区列表以及在确认过程中找到的缺陷区列表。按照本发明,RMD区存储在用户数据记录前与记录中找到的缺陷区列表。同时,例如当记录用户数据时,在包括缺陷数据或缺陷数据所位于的扇区的开头(可以是ECC块或扇区)的数据标识符(DID)区,存储链接类型信息,该链接类型信息指明是否在缺陷区之后应用链接。然后,对紧跟在缺陷区后的区域应用链接方案之后,记录新的用户数据。在另一个例子里,基本记录单元将链接类型信息作为附加信息存储,该信息说明是否紧跟在缺陷区之后应用链接以及链接类型信息是否能被应用或访问。使用链接类型信息,能够识别链接数据和用户数据。
即,当在记录用户数据4时发现登记在RMD区的缺陷区列表中的缺陷区3时,则不记录用户数据而跳过缺陷区3。这时,对于缺陷区3,从诸如激光设备的光源射出的光束功率降低到不能进行记录的程度,例如在读取光束功率以下。所以,在记录用户数据期间发射写光束的光源,在检测到缺陷区3时降低写光束功率,以使降低功率的光束不能进行记录。紧跟在缺陷区3之后的链接区8用链接数据9填充,并且开始记录新数据7。紧跟在缺陷区3后出现的链接区8的容量可以是2KB或32KB,但2KB的容量在实时读/写(RTRW)操作中是有利的。
同时,由于按照本发明的链接能够通过确认期间缺陷区的检测而被发现,所以根据预定链接方案,紧跟检测到的缺陷区之后可提前记录链接数据(2KB或32KB)。这时,表示记录链接数据的信息记录在DID中的数据类型信息中,如图3所示,并且表示紧跟在缺陷区后发生链接的链接类型信息记录在DID中的链接类型信息中,如图3所示。
由于当基本数据单元没有被用户数据填满时,在基本记录单元的剩余部分中记录在紧靠缺陷区之前的填充数据区中的填充数据(例如00h),所以填充数据能够被提前记录在紧靠缺陷区之前的基本记录单元中。当记录实际用户数据时可以重写该填充数据区。
当在确认后记录用户数据时,在紧跟缺陷区之后提前记录链接数据,以使用户数据能紧跟在链接区之后记录。因此,记录链接数据所需的时间缩短了,并且因为用户数据紧跟在缺陷区和链接区之后记录,这在实时记录中是有利的。
图3表示一个根据本发明在DID区中存储链接类型信息的例子,该DID区被分配用于每个扇区且有4个字节。数据标识信息包括扇区信息和扇区号,而扇区信息包括扇区格式类型、跟踪方法、反射率、链接类型、区域类型、数据类型和层号。

根据本发明,链接类型信息定义如下并用b28记录,b28是常规方法中扇区信息区的一个保留位。

如果链接类型信息是二进制数“0”,则表示用于递增记录模式的链接,而如果是二进制数“1”,则表示紧跟缺陷区之后的链接。在此,发生在递增记录模式或有限重写模式中的链接类型可称为链接类型I,而紧跟在缺陷区之后发生的链接类型可称为链接类型II。
因此,通过在DID链接类型信息中指明链接类型,可以区分开一般链接类型与按照本发明的链接类型。如果表示紧跟缺陷区之后链接的信息包含在扇区的DID中,其中,在该扇区中发生链接,那么当在该扇区发生链接时,就能示出其是发生在递增记录模式期间还是有限重写模式的链接,以及是否是紧跟在缺陷区之后发生的链接。另外,链接类型信息可用于驱动器中的高速数据处理,因为有了链接类型信息,就能立即显示出记录数据是连续记录还是被缺陷区分开。
根据本发明,随同缺陷区的链接方案能够应用于DVD-RW的所有记录模式,即,一次写记录模式、有限重写模式和递增记录模式。
图4表示根据本发明处理缺陷区方法的另一个例子。参考标号11是记录旧数据的一个用户数据区,参考标号12是一个缺陷的ECC块,参考标号13是紧跟在缺陷ECC块之后分配的预定数目的ECC块,以便与链接区具有相同的作用,而参考标号14是记录新数据的一个用户数据区。
根据本发明,通过使用在确认时检测到的缺陷区后分配的等于或大于一个ECC块(32KB)的区域,其中新数据记录开始的数据区不使用链接方案就能检测到。这时,紧跟缺陷区之后ECC块的预定数目可在RMD区中登记,并且根据预定的规则规定新用户数据区列在紧跟缺陷区之后预定数目的ECC块之后。
另外,为了高速搜索,具有预定的型式并起链接数据作用的参考信号,诸如测试信号、数据或记录标志等,可提前记录紧跟在缺陷区之后的预定数目的ECC块区域中。
在确认后记录实际用户数据中,遇到缺陷区后,判定例如是否检测到一个测试信号。如果在紧跟在缺陷区之后分配的、并具有与链接区同样作用的ECC块中检测到测试信号,则在新用户数据区中开始新数据记录,该新用户数据区在跟随缺陷区的预定数目ECC块之后,且有利于实时记录。
如上所述,除了发生在递增记录或有限重写记录中的链接之外,本发明还采用了表示链接紧跟在缺陷区之后发生的链接类型信息。通过这样做,即使记录介质中发生了严重缺陷并且不能生成记录/再现所需的参考信号,该链接方案也应用于紧跟缺陷区之后的区域,而且新用户数据记录可以开始,这增加了用户数据的可靠性,并且进行更可靠的再现。
此外,根据本发明,诸如测试信号、数据、凹槽摆动模式或记录标志的具有检测型式并作为链接数据起作用的参考信号,提前记录在在确认时检测到的缺陷区之后的块中。例如,如果在缺陷区后检测到测试信号,则新用户数据不使用链接就能在跟随缺陷区的预定数目ECC块之后记录,缩短了记录链接数据的时间,有利于实时记录。
此外,一个重放装置读出根据本发明记录的信息。
此外,图5是用于实现本发明的一个记录/再现装置的方块图。记录/再现装置采用可记录和可重写的记录介质,如DVD-RW、DVD-R和DVD-RAM,来记录/再现A/V(音频/视频)数据的功能主要被分为记录和再现。
在记录的过程中,一个AV编码解码器和/或一个主机接口110根据预定的压缩方案对外部输入的AV信号进行压缩编码,并为压缩数据提供大小信息。数字信号处理器(DSP)120接收从AV编码解码器和/或主机接口110提供的压缩的A/V数据,向其添加附加数据用于纠错码(ECC)处理,并采用预定的调制方案执行调制。射频放大器(RF AMP)130将来自DSP的调制数据转换成射频(RF)信号。然后,一个拾取器140将从RF AMP 130提供的RF信号记录到安装在拾取器140转动台上的光盘上。伺服单元150从系统控制器160接收伺服控制需要的信息并对安装的光盘稳定地执行伺服功能。
在重放存储在盘中的信息数据的过程中,拾取器140从其中存有信息数据的光盘中拾取光信号,并且从光学信号中提取信息数据。RF AMP 130将光学信号转换成一个RF信号,提取用于执行伺服功能的伺服信号和调制数据。DSP 120解调从RF AMP 130提供的对应于调制过程中的调制方案的调制信号,执行纠错的ECC处理,并除掉添加的数据。伺服部件150从RF AMP 130和系统控制器160接收伺服控制所需的信息,并稳定地执行伺服功能。AV编码解码器和/或主机接口110对从DSP 120提供的压缩A/V数据进行解码以输出一个A/V信号。系统控制器160控制整个系统,用于从安装在拾取器140转动台上的光盘中再现信息数据和将所述信息数据记录到光盘上。
DSP 120和系统控制器160在记录和再现过程中处理数据,包括执行与记录和再现相关的链接方案以及执行在记录和再现期间当处理介质上的缺陷时的链接方案。简而言之,当在确认后记录用户数据时,系统控制器160识别一个在缺陷区列表中登记的缺陷区,并控制在跟随一个缺陷区的链接区(由预定链接方案指定)之后记录由DSP 120处理的用户数据。
尽管本发明是参照其特定的优选实施例来描述的,但本领域的技术人员应该理解,在不脱离由所附权利要求限定的本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可以对其进行形式和细节的各种修改。

Claims (9)

1.一种用于记录和/或再现记录介质上的数据的记录和/或再现装置,包括:
拾取器件,用于在记录介质上记录数据和/或从记录介质中再现数据;和
处理单元,用于在记录介质的缺陷管理区中登记缺陷区列表,并且分配紧跟在该缺陷区中的一个之后的链接区。
2.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,拾取器件包括一个光源,在数据记录期间发射写光束,并且一旦检测到一个缺陷区,降低写功率,以便降低功率的光束不影响在记录介质上进行记录。
3.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,处理单元给链接区分配2k字节。
4.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,处理单元给链接区分配32k字节。
5.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,处理单元在记录数据前的确认过程中分配链接区,并且在确认过程中在该链接区提前记录链接数据。
6.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,处理单元在记录介质的数据标识区中记录表示紧跟在一个缺陷区后发生的链接的链接类型信息和表示在链接区中记录的链接数据的数据类型信息。
7.如权利要求5所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,在确认过程中,处理单元在紧靠缺陷区之前的一个基本记录单元中提前记录填充数据。
8.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,处理单元将紧跟在缺陷区之后的所指定的链接方案应用到在可重写的数字通用光盘中的所有三种模式:一次写记录模式,有限重写记录模式和递增记录模式。
9.如权利要求1所述的记录和/或再现装置,其中,记录介质是可重写的数字通用光盘,而缺陷管理区是该记录介质的记录管理数据区。
