Abstract
用于将物质自动递送给动物的系统和方法,包括将每只动物单独放置的配置系统,检测动物身上预定目标区域位置的传感器和图像处理器。该系统还包括具有用于将物质递送至目标区域的多个递送出口的递送装置。传感器、图像处理器和递送装置与计算机处理器通信。传感器启动图像处理器,该图像处理器拍摄单独放置的动物的至少一张图像。该图像被发送给计算机处理器并进行分析。计算机处理器启动靠近动物身上预定目标区域的递送出口,其能将有效剂量物质递送至预定目标区域。
Description
优先权
本申请要求了2015年11月13日提交的美国临时专利申请序列号62/254,737和2016年6月14日提交的美国临时专利申请序列号62/349,981的优先权。每个专利的内容整体并入本申请中。
背景技术
通常可以通过接种疫苗或向受试者递送药物预防或治疗细菌、病毒和真菌感染以及其他疾病。在所有动物中,尤其是脊椎动物或鱼以及无脊椎动物,比如甲壳类动物,疫苗、生物制品以及其他药物的递送通常用于预防疾病、死亡或保持总体健康。在对很多牲畜和鱼类进行操作时,确保所有动物得到有效治疗变成一个挑战。受试者的数目和尺寸变化使向每个受试者进行疫苗接种和其他药物递送变得困难。
下面专门讨论养禽业,目前有若干种方法来用药物处理受精卵或小鸡。这些方法包括:
1)在第18或19天在孵化场进行“卵内”(鸡蛋内)自动疫苗接种;
2)在孵化场进行“孵化后”自动疫苗接种;
3)在孵化场进行“孵化后”人工疫苗接种;
4)在“养殖场”(Growth Farm)将疫苗/药物添加到饲料或水中;以及
5)将疫苗/药物通过人工或大型喷雾器喷洒到小鸡身上。
尽管每年养禽行业投入超过30亿美元在疫苗和其他药物上,由于在递送疫苗或其他物质的方式上存在困难,这些投资的回报并不能得到保证。前面提到的每种方法都表现出明显且重大的缺陷。最常使用的是在孵化场在E18/19天卵内进行自动疫苗接种。但是,这种方法也存在多种缺陷。尤其是很多目标疫苗要么不能用于卵内应用,要么由于疾病本身和/或卵内应用中需要的携带活性分子/颗粒的缀合物而不能使用。此外,卵内接种疫苗的实践需要在第18或19天在鸡蛋上穿孔或刺一个洞。递送疫苗时需要采用一些机械装置将鸡蛋固定不动,同时将细针插入鸡蛋内并注射疫苗/药物。该做法会使病原体和细菌进入鸡蛋内并给胚胎带来不好的影响。在卵内疫苗接种过程中,不理想的鸡蛋(坏的鸡蛋或含有死胎的鸡蛋)也会与在穿孔或刺洞之前将鸡蛋保持在静止位置的机械装置以及细针接触。因此,会有很大概率将不期望的污染传播到其他鸡蛋和免疫系统中。由此会导致在进一步的处理过程中将污染转移到后续的鲜鸡蛋中。
为降低这种污染转移的影响,行业中开始向鸡蛋内注入抗生素,并将其作为卵内疫苗接种的一部分。但是消费者并不喜欢用抗生素处理过的家禽。因此,本行业人员认为需要开发替换方法以不同方式治疗相同疾病,该方法能在保持鸡群健康的同时不再使用抗生素。
在孵化场中“孵化后”自动接种疫苗是在小鸡孵化后、进行统计并送到养殖场前进行的。现有的孵化后疫苗接种方法使用各种类型的大型喷雾器系统,其能同时将疫苗和其他药物喷洒到一大群日龄雏鸡身上。这些系统经证明并不适合给所有小鸡递送疫苗和药物。喷嘴将抽出的剂量喷洒到一群小鸡的头部上方,大多数液滴落到小鸡头部和身体表面上,这使得小鸡并没有吸收到有效剂量。此外,一些小鸡藏在其他小鸡的身体下面。其结果是,这些小鸡根本没有暴露在喷雾下,也因此没有被有效接种。没有得到有效接种的小鸡不仅自己有携带特殊疾病的风险,并且也给它们周围的其他小鸡带来风险。单独的一只未接种的小鸡会把疾病传遍整个农场,感染鸡群中未接种或未得到有效接种的任何其他小鸡。
虽然人们认为在孵化场“孵化后”人工接种疫苗比其他方法更可靠,但研究表明该种做法也缺乏可靠性并且会导致小鸡受伤和死亡。孵化场面对的困难是找到可靠的接种员以及随日生产能力增加需要的人工成本。这提高了保证所有小鸡得到有效接种的困难,因为增加了总体成本。此外,由于必须在疫苗接种过程中对小鸡进行处理,在处理过程中对小鸡造成伤害的事件中有给小鸡带来损伤和死亡的风险。另外,由于工作人员必须给许多小鸡接种,他们易受重复性劳损伤害。这会给家禽饲养者带来经济及生产力上的损失。
替换方法是在养殖场中将疫苗/药物加入到饲料或水中。但是事实上,对大部分细菌来说,该方法经证明仅部分有效,小鸡消化系统中的病原体和寄生虫会对药物产生抗性。其他造成该方法部分有效的因素包括饮水线不统一、由于不等量的饮食或饮水造成不等量的给药剂量,以及一些疫苗在水或饲料中半衰期非常短。
将现有疫苗接种方法与在禽类生产中免去抗生素使用(包括药物饲料添加剂(“MFA”))的新市场趋势结合起来的不足是本申请描述的实施方式的主要发明动机。当采用合适方法递送时,通过粘膜或黏膜进行物质递送是有效且高效的。而在大规模递送中的困难在于要保证每只动物都接收到有效的剂量。
发明内容
本申请描述的实施方式涉及用于将物质自动递送至动物预定区域的系统和方法。该系统包括将动物单独放置的配置装置和捕获动物至少一张图像的图像捕获装置。该系统还包括接收和发送数据的计算机处理器和将物质递送至预定区域的递送装置。所述图像捕获装置将图像共享给计算机处理器,该计算机处理器启动递送装置,将物质递送至目标区域。

具体实施方式
本公开涉及用于将物质递送给动物的自动化系统和方法。下面将参考附图对本公开的各个方面进行更详细的描述,其中示出了本公开的一些方面,但并非所有方面。实际上,本公开可以以很多不同的形式表现,其不应理解为是对本申请阐述的各方面的限制。
一个实施例涉及向已与蛋壳分离但尚未离开孵化场的刚孵化出的小鸡递送物质。此外,根据本公开涉及小鸡的方法和系统可以用于任何类型的家禽,包括但不限于鸡、火鸡、鸭、鹅、鹌鹑、野鸡、鸵鸟、珍稀鸟类等等。
图1示出了第一实施例10的整体系统的简化示意俯视图。该简化视图不包括设置在第一实施例10的各区域的一些设备,其将在下文其他更详细的视图中进行详细描述。类似地,图2示出了第一实施例10的整体系统的简化示意侧视图。
第一实施例10适于放置在小鸡孵化场的孵化室。第一实施例10包括雏鸡/蛋壳分离器12。所述雏鸡/蛋壳分离器12提供一装置,用于使刚孵化的小鸡与其蛋壳分离。第一传送机14通过在隔墙16上的开口将小鸡从雏鸡/蛋壳分离器12运送到沿箭头15方向的第二、更宽的传送机18上。隔墙16将蛋壳分离工序与物质递送工序分隔开。
第二、更宽的传送机18开始将小鸡分散开,从而能够更容易的处理每一单只小鸡。沿箭头15的方向,小鸡从第二传送机18分别被运送到第三、第四传送机20、22上,这两个传送机都比传送机18宽。第五传送机24具有分隔板26,其从传送工具顶部悬挂下来。分隔板26形成通道27(图3、4和5中示出),其有助于使小鸡移动形成狭窄的行列,并最终变成单列纵队(图1)。
如图3所示,在第六传送机带28上沿每个通道27设置有多个第一存在传感器33。在第六传送机带28上沿每个通道27还设置有第一照相机35,其位于沿第一存在传感器33和第一照相机35的方向的下游。此外,在第六传送机带28的路径上的每个通道27中设置有第一喷头37A-D。第一喷头37A-D高度和位置不同。具体来说,如图4中详细示出的,37A安装在通道27的右手边上更高位置处。喷头37B安装在通道27的右手边上较低位置处。相反地,喷头37C安装在通道27的左手边上更高位置处,喷头37D安装在左手边上较低位置处。这样设置使得不管通道27上小鸡姿势如何,第一喷头37A-D都能喷到预定目标。
应当注意,图4中的喷头37A-D设计用于喷射出锥形的喷雾流。因此,当小鸡通过喷头37A-D时,或者更高的37A和C,或者更低的37B和D,小鸡之间将设有安装的喷头,喷雾区域能确保有效递送物质。图3和5示出了喷雾流覆盖的宽阔区域。
靠近第六传送机带28还设置有第一闪光灯39。第一闪光灯39使得小鸡叽喳鸣叫,从而使它们张开嘴。因此,疫苗或其他药物可以通过粘膜递送,可以启动第一闪光灯39来辅助口服给药。
如图6所示,第一存在传感器33、第一照相机35、第一喷头37A-D和第一闪光灯39都能与自动化物质递送网络36进行通信。网络36包括计算机处理器38,其能使网络组件,比如第一存在传感器33、第一照相机35、第一喷头37A-C,相互进行通信。网络36的功能将在下文中更加详细地描述。
多个第二存在传感器34位于第六传送机带28的末端并沿有角度的传送机带30设置。每个第二存在传感器34设置用于感应在有角度的传送机带30的任一边上沿由分隔板26隔出的通道27移动的小鸡的存在。沿有角度的传送机带30的路径29还设置有第二照相机40和第二喷头42A-D。第二存在传感器34、第二照相机40、第二喷头42A-D都能与自动化物质递送网络36进行通信。
如上述对喷头37的讨论(图5),每个第二喷头42(图7)具有喷雾范围,在该范围内递送喷雾流。当小鸡沿有角度的传送机带前进时会遭遇喷雾流,被施用到有效剂量的喷雾溶液。每个第二喷头42设置用于将喷雾流聚集到沿有角度的传送机带30的路径前进的小鸡身上。可以沿有角度的传送机带30的路径设置多个第二喷头42A-D,以确保不论小鸡姿势如何,至少一个喷头42能够将喷雾流递送给每只小鸡。例如,如图7所示,沿有角度的传送机带30的路径安装有四个第二喷头42:42A、42B、42C和42D。两个第二喷头42A、42B安装在路径右侧,剩余的两个42C、42D安装在左侧。若小鸡以站立姿势沿所述路径前进,在右侧的一个第二喷头42A对着小鸡身体的右侧上半部。若小鸡以站立姿势沿所述路径前进,在右侧的另一个第二喷头42B对着小鸡身体的右侧下半部。类似地,若小鸡以站立姿势沿所述路径前进,安装在左侧的第二喷头42C对着小鸡身体的左侧上半部;若小鸡以站立姿势沿所述路径前进,左侧安装的另一个喷头42D对着小鸡身体的左侧下半部。这种安装设计使得能将喷雾溶液递送至沿有角度的传送机带前进的小鸡的至少一只眼睛、鼻腔和/或嘴巴中,而不论小鸡姿势如何。
有角度的传送机带30下方设置有单独的运载装置32。如图7和8示出的,每个单独的运载装置32类似杯子、笼子或篮子,其大小为能接收单独一只小鸡。所述单独的运载装置32相互连接在一起并由传送机系统推动向前沿单独的运载路径前进。每个运载装置32相对于所述传送机系统铰接安装,这样每个装置能如图8所示绕其铰接连接旋转或枢转。
如图8所示,第三组照相机沿单独的运载装置32的路径设置。沿单独的运载装置32的路径还安装有第三组喷头44。与上述讨论的第一喷头37和第二喷头42类似,每个第三喷头44具有喷雾范围,在该范围内递送喷雾流。每个第三喷头44被设置朝向所述单独的运载路径和运载装置32,这样在操作时,喷雾流可以在预定区域接触小鸡。
应当理解,如图8和9所示,可推测每只小鸡在进入单独的运载装置32并沿单独的运载路径移动时有各种姿势。其结果是,第三喷头44必须以以下方式布置,能确保喷头44的总范围能覆盖每只小鸡身上的预定目标区域,而不论其在单独的运载装置32中的姿势如何。
为确保所有小鸡都能从第三喷头44A-D接收到有效剂量,第三组喷头沿所述单独的运载路径以不同的高度和/或角度固定安装。如图9所示,在第一实施例10中,第三喷头44固定安装在相对于单独的运载装置32的更高位置44A、44C和更低位置44B、44D。在下文详细讨论该系统的操作时,这种布置的目的将变得更加显而易见。
如图1、2和8所示,在所述单独的运载装置32下方是第七传送机带46。第七传送机带46运送小鸡,同时小鸡被从单独的运载装置32中倒出并放入容器48(图2),用于将小鸡运送至养殖场,小鸡将在养殖场长大用于消费。
下面讨论上述描述的第一实施例10的操作,小鸡从雏鸡/蛋壳分离器12被运送到第一传送机14(图1)。在小鸡沿第一传送机14移动时,小鸡通过隔墙16,该隔墙将孵化工序与物质递送工序分隔开。
沿箭头15的方向,小鸡分别从第一传送机14被运送到第二、第三、第四传送机18、20、22上。这些传送机18、20、22设计用于沿处理路径运送小鸡并将小鸡分散开,从而使小鸡预备形成按引导通道的单列纵队,这将在下文进行解释。小鸡从第四传送机22被运送到逐渐加宽且包括分隔板26的第五传送机24。逐渐变化的宽度和分隔板26有助于使小鸡进一步散开并有助于形成单列纵队。小鸡以单列纵队从第五传送机24移动到第六传送机28上。在第六传送机28上的分隔板26形成单列纵队,在该分隔板的任意给定点仅有单只小鸡能通过。该过程显示在图10中。
如图3、4和5所示,一旦小鸡到第六传送机28上,第一存在传感器33感应给定通道27中的小鸡的存在。第一存在传感器33向自动化物质递送系统36发送信号,自动化物质递送系统36向第一照相机35发送信号(图4)。第一照相机35在小鸡沿第六传送机28的通道27前进时拍摄至少一张小鸡图像。该图像被传回自动化物质递送系统36中的计算机处理器38,其对图像进行处理,确定小鸡身上的目标区域的相关位置。根据处理器确定的目标区域的位置,递送系统36向第一喷头37中的一个发送信号,使其启动。例如,若从第一照相机35发送给计算机处理器38的图像指示小鸡是仰面躺着的,目标区域被预定在面部粘膜上,然后计算机处理器将给最近的第一喷头37C发送信号,使其启动。该最近的第一喷头37C将喷雾流递送至小鸡的面部区域,从而使有效剂量的物质可以被递送至小鸡的眼睛、嘴巴和/或鼻腔中。
此外,计算机处理器38可以启动第一闪光灯39(图4)。这会使小鸡在看到强脉冲光时叽喳鸣叫。小鸡张开的嘴巴可以从一个或多个喷头37直接或间接接收到一定量的物质。
如图7所示,小鸡沿第六传送机带28前进到头后,掉落在有角度的传送机带30上。小鸡在由分隔板26形成的有角度的传送机带30的单个通道路径上的存在由第二存在传感器34发送信号给计算机处理器38。来自第二存在传感器34的信号启动第二照相机40。照相机40在小鸡通过有角度的传送机带30的路径时捕获至少一张小鸡图像。该图像被传送至计算机处理器38并经处理以确定小鸡的姿势。
一旦计算机处理器38确定小鸡的姿势,会将信号发送给在特定位置的第二喷头42中的一个,使其在特定时间启动。如图7A所示,启动是定时的,这样第二喷头42可以在小鸡通过有角度的传送机的路径时将物质流(比如疫苗或其他药物)递送至小鸡的面部粘膜上。例如,若小鸡沿有角度的传送机带30站立前进,在确定小鸡的姿势以及前进速度后,计算机处理器38可以在特定时间启动右侧较高的第二喷头42A。这样会在小鸡通过时将喷雾流递送至小鸡的右眼中。
定时启动图7A中的第二喷头42可以将有效剂量的物质喷洒在所有面部粘膜上,包括眼睛、鼻腔和嘴巴,而不会有大量的浪费。此外,定时启动第二喷头42能保证通过有角度的传送机带30的每只小鸡都接收到有效剂量的物质。
可以预想的是,可以设置其他第二喷头42,以在需要时向沿有角度的传送机带30前进的小鸡递送超过一种物质。例如,前文描述的喷头42A、42B、42C和42D向小鸡递送第一种疫苗。如图6所示,可以如前文描述类似地设置其他喷头42E、42F、42G和42H,以在小鸡沿有角度的传送机带30的路径前进时向小鸡递送第二种疫苗或其他药物。
一旦小鸡通过有角度的传送机带30,则如图8所示,小鸡会被放入一个单独的运载装置32。第三照相机50靠近小鸡进入运载装置32的位置安装。该照相机50拍摄单独的运载装置32中的小鸡的图像。该图像被传送至计算机处理器38并经处理以确定小鸡的姿势。一旦计算机处理器确定位于单独的运载装置中的小鸡面部粘膜的相应位置,计算机处理器38则会启动最佳位置的第三喷头44,以实现有效递送。例如,若小鸡在单独的运载装置32中的姿势是头朝下,计算机处理器可以在特定时间启动第二喷头44A。通过这种方式,在小鸡的运载装置32通过喷头44A时,小鸡的一只眼睛会接收到喷雾流(图8)。
与前面的递送相同,第三喷头44能通过该系统将有效剂量递送至每只小鸡的面部粘膜。通过这种方式,每只小鸡将接收到适宜的剂量,鸡群整体也将更健康、强壮。与前文描述类似,可以预想的是,当小鸡位于运载装置32中时,可以采用其他第三喷头将其他物质递送给小鸡。例如,可以分别通过相对于运载装置32有高有低的第三喷头44A和44B将药物递送给小鸡,通过其他第三喷头44C和44D将疫苗或其他物质递送给小鸡。
应当理解的是,虽然第一实施例10用于沿第六传送机带28、有角度的传送机带30和单独的运载装置32递送物质,但是所有这些都不是必需的。例如,在一种情况下,可能适合的是沿有角度的传送机带30向小鸡递送物质,在另一种情况下,更适合的是在小鸡在运载装置32中时向其递送物质。相反地,在处理的不同阶段可能适合的是递送不同物质。例如,可能需要的是当小鸡沿第六传送机带28前进时向小鸡递送第一物质或疫苗,当小鸡沿有角度的传送机带30前进时向小鸡递送第二物质或疫苗,当小鸡在单独的运载装置32中前进时向小鸡递送第三物质或疫苗。
在运载装置32的前进路径末尾,该装置绕其铰接连接枢转,小鸡被倒出并放到第七传送机带46上。该第七传送机带46将小鸡放入容器48中。容器48沿第八传送机带49前进,接着它们被集中起来运送到不同位置,进行进一步处理。
还应当注意,前文描述的第一实施例针对的是将物质自动递送至鸟类的粘膜。本申请描述的实施例还可以用于将物质自送递送至任意其他动物(比如人或其他家畜)的粘膜。可以预想的是,根据具体应用的需要,可以将用于牛或羊的某些药物以自动化方式递送至其面部粘膜,或者通过阴道递送,或者通过直肠递送。
可以预测的是,通过喷雾施用于粘膜的用于小鸡的疫苗或其他物质的类型可以包括但不限于以下这些:抗鸡新城病、传染性支气管炎病毒、大肠杆菌、沙门氏菌、球虫和弯曲杆菌的疫苗。
还可以预测的是,本申请的实施例可用于将物质自动递送至其他动物和哺乳动物(包括人)的粘膜。特别地,可能有某些应用适用于将物质自动递送至婴儿或儿童或残疾人的面部粘膜。此外,本申请所述的自动化递送系统适用于其他动物,例如家畜、啮齿动物和其他商业饲养的动物。
可以预期的是,本申请所阐释的本公开的许多修改和其他方面对本领域技术人员而言是可以想到的,对此本公开保留前文描述以及相关附图给出的教导的权益。因此,应该理解的是,本公开不旨在限于所公开的具体方面,那些修改和其他方面包括在所附权利要求的范围内。尽管本申请使用了特定术语,但它们仅以一般性和描述性的意义来使用,而不是为了限制的目的。
Claims (21)
1.用于将物质自动递送至动物眼睛的系统,包括:
沿多个移动平台放置动物的配置装置,所述配置装置是用于形成通道的一系列分隔板和至少一个移动平台;
图像捕获装置;
沿移动平台路径具有至少一个递送出口的物质递送系统;以及
与图像捕获装置和递送系统通信的计算机处理器,借此图像捕获装置捕获动物的至少一张图像并将该图像共享给计算机处理器,计算机处理器处理该图像,确定动物相关姿势并启动递送系统,将有效剂量物质递送至动物眼睛。
2.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述配置装置包括用于容纳单只动物的容器。

15.根据权利要求10所述的系统,其中所述图像捕获装置包括照相机。
16.用于将物质自动递送至动物眼睛的系统,包括:
沿多个移动平台放置动物的配置装置,所述配置装置是用于形成通道的一系列分隔板和至少一个移动平台;
感应沿移动平台移动的动物存在的感应装置;
沿移动平台路径设置的物质递送系统;以及
与感应装置和递送系统通信的计算机处理器,从而感应装置将移动平台上动物的存在发送给计算机处理器,计算机处理器启动物质递送系统,将有效剂量物质递送至动物眼睛。
17.根据权利要求16所述的系统,还包括至少一种刺激,以使动物朝特定方向看。
18.根据权利要求16所述的系统,其中所述物质是生物制品。
19.根据权利要求16所述的系统,其中所述物质是药物。
20.根据权利要求16所述的系统,其中所述物质是疫苗。
21.根据权利要求16所述的系统,其中所述物质旨在用于治疗以下一种或多种疾病:鸡新城病、传染性支气管炎、球虫病、沙门氏菌、弯曲杆菌或大肠杆菌病。
