示例实施例

根据各种实施例,该系统也包括数据净化设备221。在特定的实施例中,数据净化设备221使用固定的和自适应的滤波、加权平均、高级分量提取(像PCA、ICA)、矢量和分量分离方法等滤波所采集的数据以去除噪声、人工产物以及其它不相关数据。该设备通过去除外源噪声(其源位于受检者生理学以外)和内源人工产物(其源可以为肌肉运动、眨眼等神经生理行为)两者来净化数据。
人工产物去除子系统包括一些装置,这些装置用于选择性地隔离和检查每个数据的输出并识别具有时域和/或频域属性的重要事件,其对应于诸如行频、眨眼和肌肉运动之类的人工产物。然后,人工产物去除子系统通过省略这些重要事件或者通过用基于其它净化数据的评估(例如,EEG最相邻近加权平均方法)取代这些重要事件数据,以净化掉人工产物。
根据各种实施例,数据净化设备221通过使用硬件、固件和/或软件实现。应当注意到,尽管所示数据净化设备221置于数据采集设备205之后并且在合成设备231和241之前,但是像其它单元一样,数据净化设备121的位置和功能可以随系统实现方案而变化。例如,某些系统无论如何也可以不使用任何自动的数据净化设备。在其它系统中,数据净化设备可以与数据采集设备集成在一起。
数据净化设备221传输数据至内部感觉通道响应合成器231。内部感觉通道响应合成器231被配置为在每个感觉通道内为每个个体定制和提取独立的神经学和神经生理学参数,并在感觉通道内以分析方式调合评估以引发对所呈现的刺激的增强响应。在特定的实施例中,内部感觉通道响应合成器也将来自不同受检者的数据集聚于数据集合中。根据各种实施例,各种模块以并行或串行方式执行合成,并且能操作直接从数据净化设备221输出的数据,或者操作从其它模块输出的数据。例如,EEG合成模块233可以操作EOG合成模块235的输出。GSR模块237可以操作从EEG模块233输出的数据。
根据各种实施例,跨感觉通道响应合成或融合设备241调合不同的内部感觉通道响应,包括原始信号和从合成器231输出的信号。信号的组合增强了感觉通道内的效果的测量。跨感觉通道响应融合设备241也可以集聚来自不同受检者的数据于数据集合中。
根据各种实施例,该神经分析系统还包括复合增强效果评估器(Composite Enhanced Effectiveness Estimator,CEEE),其组合来自每个感觉通道的增强的响应和评估,以提供对各种目的的营销和广告刺激的效果的调合评估。刺激效果测量在261上输出。可以将部分或全部效果测量(内部感觉通道合成器、跨感觉通道融合设备和/或CEEE)作为反馈提供至协议生成器和呈现器设备201,以进一步定制呈现给用户203的刺激。
图3示出了内部感觉通道合成装置的特定实例。在特定的实施例中,EEG响应数据被合成以提供对营销和娱乐效果的增强评估。根据各种实施例,EEG测量电学活动,该电学活动源自与脑部不同区域相关联的成千上万同时发生的神经过程。EEG数据可以以不同频带分类。根据各种实施例,脑波频率包括δ、θ、α、β和γ频率范围。δ波被分类为低于4赫兹的脑波并且在深度睡眠期凸显。θ波具有3.5到7.5赫兹的频率并且与记忆、注意、情绪、感知相关联。θ波典型地在内在聚焦状态期间凸显。
α波频率在7.5到13赫兹之间并且典型地在10赫兹左右取峰值。α波在放松状态下图像凸显。β波具有14到30赫兹的频率范围。β波在运动神经控制、脑区域之间的长程同步、解决分析问题、判断、做选择的状态下凸显。γ波发生于30-60赫兹之间并且涉及为完成某一感知或者运动神经功能而将不同的神经元群体结合在一起成为一个网络以及涉及注意和记忆。由于颅骨和真皮层削弱在该频率范围的波,因此75-80赫兹以上范围的脑波难于探测并且通常不被用于刺激响应评估。
然而,本发明的技术和装置认识到,除θ、α、β和低γ频带测量外,分析高γ频带(κ频带:大于60赫兹)测量增强了神经学注意、情绪约定(engagement)和保持分量评估。在特定的实施例中,在步骤301,获得、增强并评估EEG测量,EEG测量包括难以探测的高γ或κ频带测量。在步骤303,在θ、α、β、γ和κ频带中识别针对特定受检者和任务的特征子频带(signature subbands),以提供增强的响应评估。根据各种实施例,高于80赫兹的高γ波(κ频带)(典型地借助颅下EEG和脑磁描记法可探测)可以用于对针对刺激的频率响应作反向基于模型的增强(inverse model-based enhancement)。
本发明的各种实施例认识到,每个频率范围内的特定子频带在某些活动期间具有特别的凸显。这里,特定频带中的频率子集被称为子频带。例如,子频带可以包括γ频带中的40-45赫兹范围。在特定的实施例中,从不同频带中选多个子频带,同时所余下的频率是带通滤波的。在特定实施例中,多个子频带响应可被增强,而所余下的频率响应可被削弱。
在步骤305中,确定子频带测量的区域间(inter-regional)相干性。根据各种实施例,区域间相干性利用增益和相位相干性、贝叶斯公式(Bayesian reference)、独立性和方向性的相互信息理论测量以及不同频带中EEG响应的Granger因果关系技术来确定。在特定实施例中,利用模糊逻辑确定区域间相干性以就单独的受检者评估在唤醒特定响应类型中的刺激的效果。
在步骤307中,评估大脑半球间(inter-hemispheric)的时间-频率测量。在特定实施例中,分析特定频带功率的非对称性、区域间大脑半球内相干性(inter-regional intra-hemispheric conherences)的非对称性以及区域间大脑半球内频率间耦合的非对称性,以提供情绪约定(emotionengagement)的测量。
在步骤309,确定响应的频率间耦合评估。在特定实施例中,确定耦合指数,以确定营销和广告刺激或者其子部分(sub-section)的意义,该耦合指数对应于特定频带活动的量度,该特定频带活动与其它频带活动的相位同步。在步骤313中,通过频率功能驱动模型,利用基线皮层脑电图(electrocorticogram,ECoG)功率来确定参考脑皮层功率频率曲线。将参考比例功率频率曲线与频率曲线的单个头皮记录功率相比较,从而得到营销和娱乐效果的经过定标的评估。根据各种实施例,使用模糊定标(fuzzy scaling)得到定标评估
在步骤315中,基于信息理论的频带加权模型被用于选择性的针对特定数据集合的、针对特定受检者的、针对特定任务的频带的自适应提取,以加强效果测量。自适应的提取可以使用模糊定标完成。在步骤321中,刺激可以被呈现并以确定的多次次数增强测量,以确定多个呈现上的变化或习惯化曲线。对变化和/或习惯化曲线的确定提供了对初始的响应和营销和娱乐刺激的寿命(疲劳)的增强评估。在步骤323中,测量多个个体对按照相同方式(in concert)呈现的刺激的同步响应,以确定对效果的增强的跨受检者的同步测量。根据各种实施例,对位于分离位置的多个受检者或者对位于同一位置的多个受检者,可以确定同步响应。
尽管描述了各种合成装置,但应该认识到,任何数量的装置可以在装置之间具有或不具有交互作用的情况下,以并联或者串联方式应用。在某些实例中,步骤321和323可以应用于任何感觉通道。图4示出了用于包括ERP和连续式EEG的脑电描记法(EEG)数据的合成的具体实例。
通过使用脑电描记法(EEG)可以可靠地测量ERP,该EEG为测量大脑电学活动的程序。尽管EEG反映成千上万同时正在进行的大脑过程,但是使用EEG时对某个刺激的大脑响应可能是不可见的。ERP数据包括刺激呈现后出现的感知的神经生理学响应。在许多情况下,在呈现单一刺激后,难于看见ERP。在数十或者数百个单独呈现被组合后,可以看见最强的ERP。该组合去掉了数据中的噪声,并且使得对刺激的电压响应能更清晰地突显出来。除平均处理外,该实施例包括从正在进行的EEG抽取单个试验性的引发信息的技术。
在引发的电位反映了物理刺激的处理时,事件相关电位(event-related potential)是由也许包括记忆、期待、注意或者精神状态改变的相对于其它“更高级”的过程所导致的。根据各种实施例,在大脑特定区域中特定时域分量的发生或者没有发生的证据被用于测量对特定刺激的受检者响应度。
根据各种实施例,可以使用各种装置来增强ERP数据。在步骤401中,在多个频带上(例如θ、δ、α、β、γ和高κ频带(κ))对刺激响应作事件相关的时频分析,即事件相关的功率频谱扰动(eventrelated power spectral perturbation,ERPSP)。根据各种实施例,确定ERP基线。在步骤403中,评估差异事件相关电位(Differential Event RelatedPotential,DERP)以评价可归因于刺激的差异响应。
在步骤405中,可以应用各种分析技术(包括主要分量分析(principal component analysis,PCA)、独立分量分析(independentcomponent analysis,ICA)以及蒙特卡洛分析(Monte Carlos analysis))来评估多个刺激间的效果的有序等级。在特定实施例中,PCA被用于减少多维数据集以降低分析的维数。ICA典型地被用于分离信号中的多个分量。蒙特卡洛依赖于重复的随机抽样来计算结果。根据各种实施例,在步骤407中,开发ERP场景以确定针对特定受检者、会话和任务的响应基线。然后,该基线可被用于增强对所测试刺激的其它ERP响应的灵敏度。
在步骤421中,刺激可以被呈现并以确定的多重次数增强测量,以确定多个呈现上的变化或习惯化曲线。对变化和/或习惯化曲线的确定提供了对初始的响应和营销和娱乐刺激的寿命(疲劳)的增强评估。在步骤423中,测量多个个体对按照相同方式呈现的刺激的同步响应,以确定对效果的增强的跨受检者的同步测量。根据各种实施例,对位于分离位置的多个受检者或者对位于同一位置的多个受检者,可以确定同步响应。
诸如处理421、423之类的各种处理可以应用于多个感觉通道,包括EOG、眼睛跟踪、GSR、面部情绪编码等。另外,来自诸如EOG和眼睛跟踪的装置的数据合成也能从下列方式中得益:利用微观和宏观扫视模式,将感兴趣目标分组为时间上和空间上定义的实体。对凝视、踌躇、眼睛运动向所定义的感兴趣实体的主要中心周围的返回以及返回到被评估材料的新区域的被阻止进行测量,以确定刺激引发的约定和注意的程度。
尽管内部感觉通道合成装置提供增强的效果数据,但是附加的跨感觉通道合成装置也可以应用。图5示出了跨感觉通道合成装置的特定实例。诸如EEG 501、眼睛跟踪503、GSR 505、EOG 507和面部情绪编码509之类的各种装置均连接于跨感觉通道合成装置。也可以包括其它装置以及对已有装置的改变和增强。根据各种实施例,可以使用来自一个或多个其它感觉通道的数据来增强来自特定感觉通道的数据。在特定实施例中,典型地,EEG在不同的频带(例如α、β和γ)作频率测量以提供效果的评估。然而,本发明的技术认识到,进一步使用来自其它感觉通道的信息可以增强效果测量。
例如,可以用面部情绪编码测量来增强EEG情绪约定测量的诱发力。可以采用目标实体的EOG和眼睛跟踪扫视测量来增强效果的EEG评估,包括但不限于注意、情绪约定以及记忆保持。根据各种实施例,跨感觉通道合成装置完成数据的时间和相位偏移,以使来自不同感觉通道的数据能对齐。在某些实例中,认识到在面部情测量改变前的数百毫秒,常发生EEG响应。可以提取相关性并且对个体以及成组地作时间和相位偏移。在其它实例中,扫视的眼睛运动可以被确定为发生在特定EEG响应之前和之后。根据各种实施方式,使用时间校正的GSR测量来定标和增强包括注意、情绪约定和记忆保持测量的效果的EEG评估。
特定区域内发生或未发生特定时域差异的事件相关的电位分量(例如DERP)的证据与对特定刺激的受检者响应度相关。根据各种实施例,利用响应于营销和娱乐刺激的呈现的EEG时间-频率测量(ERPSP)来增强ERP测量。提取特定的部分并隔离出来以识别要执行的ERP、DERP和ERPSP分析。在特定实施例中,注意、情绪和记忆保持的EEG频率评估(ERPSP)在增强ERP、DERP和时域响应分析中被用作辅助因子。
EOG测量扫视以确定对刺激的特定目标的注意的存在。眼睛跟踪测量受检者对刺激的特定目标的凝视路径、位置和踌躇。根据各种实施例,通过测量枕骨和外部带条纹区域中的正在进行的EEG中的λ波(扫视效果的神经生理学指数)的存在来增强EOG和眼睛跟踪,该λ波由扫视-开始(saccade-onset)的斜率触发以评估EOG和眼睛跟踪测量的效果。在特定实施例中,测量活动的特定EEG特征(例如缓慢电位偏移和扫视-开始前在眼睛正面区域(Frontal Eye Field,FEF)的时间-频率响应中的相干性测量)以增强扫视活动数据的效果。
典型地,GSR测量响应于所呈现刺激的普通唤醒中的变化。根据各种实施例,通过使EEG/ERP响应和GSR测量相关来增强GSR,以获得对受检者约定的增强评估。在构建对刺激的时间校正的GSR响应中采用GSR潜伏状态基线(latency baselines)。时间校正的GSR响应是随EEG测量的辅助因子以增强GSR效果测量。
根据各种实施例,面部情绪编码采用模板,这些模板通过在测试会话之前测量个体表达各种情绪的面部肌肉位置和运动而生成。这些个体的特定面部情绪编码模板与个体响应匹配从而识别受检者的情绪响应。在特定的实施例中,通过评估特定频带内EEG响应中的大脑半球间的非对称性并测量频带的交互作用来加强这些面部情绪编码测量。本发明的技术认识到,不仅特定的频带在EEG响应中是重要的,而且用于大脑特定区域之间交流的特定频带也是重要的。因此,这些EEG响应增强了基于EMG、图形和视频的面部情绪识别。
图6是表示用于获得神经和神经生理学数据的技术的流程示意图。在步骤601,生成协议并向一个或者多个受检者提供刺激。根据各种实施例,刺激包括流视频、媒体片断、印刷材料、单个产品等。协议确定围绕刺激呈现的参数,例如显示次数、暴露间隔、暴露顺序、所呈现刺激的分组等。受检者在暴露期间可以被隔离,或可以在有或没有监视的成组环境中被呈现材料。在步骤603,使用各种感觉通道(例如EEG、ERP、EOG、GSR等)采集受检者响应。在某些实例中,也可以采集口头的和书面的响应并使之与神经学和神经生理学响应相关联。在步骤605,数据经数据净化器传送以去除可能使数据更难以解释的噪声和人工产物。根据各种实施例,数据净化器去除涉及眨眼和其它内源的/外源的人工产物的EEG电学活动。
在步骤611,执行内部感觉通道响应合成以增强效果测量。在步骤613,执行跨感觉通道响应合成以进一步增强效果测量。应该注意到,在某些特定的情况下,一种类型的合成可以在没有执行另一种类型合成的情况下执行。例如,跨感觉通道响应合成可以在有或者没有内部感觉通道合成的情况下执行。在步骤615,提供复合增强效果评估。在步骤621,提供反馈至协议生成器和呈现器设备用于额外的评估。该反馈可以由跨感觉通道响应合成器或者其它装置提供。
根据各种实施例,各种装置(诸如数据采集装置、内部感觉通道合成装置、跨感觉通道合成装置等)在多种设备上实现。然而,各种装置也可能以单个系统内的硬件、固件和/或软件实现。图7提供可以用于实现一个或多个装置的系统的实例。例如,图7所示系统可以用来实现数据净化设备或者跨感觉通道响应合成设备。
根据特定的实例实施例,适合于实现本发明特定实施例的系统700包括处理器701、存储器703、接口711以及总线715(例如,PCI总线)。当在合适的软件或固件的控制下运行时,处理器701负责诸如模式生成之类的任务。各种专门配置的设备可以用来替代处理器701或除处理器701之外被添加。也可以在定制硬件中实现完整的实现方案。典型地,接口711被配置为通过网络发送和接收数据包或者数据段。设备支持的接口的特定实例包括主总线适配器(Host Bus Adapter,HBA)接口、以太网接口、帧中继接口、有线接口、DSL接口、令牌环接口等。
另外,可以提供极高速接口,例如快速以太网接口、千兆位以太网接口、ATM接口、HSSI接口、POS接口、FDDI接口等。通常地,这些接口可以包括适于与合适的介质通信的端口。在某些情况下,它们也可以包括独立的处理器,并且在某些情况下还包括易失性随机存储器。独立的处理器可以控制通信量大的任务,例如数据合成。
根据特定实例实施例,系统700使用存储器703来存储数据、算法和程序指令。例如,程序指令可以控制操作系统和/或一个或多个应用程序的运行。一个或多个存储器也可以配置为存储所接收的数据和处理所接收的数据。
由于可以采用这样的信息和程序指令来实现这里所述的系统/方法,因此本发明涉及有形的、机器可读的介质以实现这里所述的各种操作,该介质包括程序指令、状态信息等。例如,机器可读介质的例子包括但不限于,磁性介质(例如硬盘、软盘、磁带);诸如CD-ROM盘和DVD之类的光学介质;诸如光盘之类的磁光介质;以及特别配置为存储和执行程序指令的硬件设备(例如只读存储器(ROM)和随机访问存储器(RAM))。程序指令的例子包括机器码(例如通过编译器产生的)以及包含可由计算机利用编译器执行的更上层代码的文件。

Claims (32)

1.一种系统,包括:
呈现器设备,可操作的用于提供营销刺激;
数据采集装置,可操作的用于利用多个感觉通道获得响应数据,多个感觉通道包括脑电描记法(EEG)和眼动电图描记法(EOG);
数据净化设备,可操作用于对响应数据进行滤波;
内部感觉通道响应合成器,可操作用于增强与多个感觉通道的每个通道相关联的响应数据;
跨感觉通道响应合成器,可操作用于组合与多个感觉通道的每个通道相关联的响应数据,以使多个感觉通道的每个通道内的响应数据有效;
复合增强效果评估器,可操作用于生成营销刺激的复合增强效果测量。
2.如权利要求1所述的系统,其中多个感觉通道进一步包括皮肤电反应(GSR)。
3.如权利要求1所述的系统,其中多个感觉通道进一步包括心电图(EKG)。

滤波响应数据;
增强与多个感觉通道的每个通道相关联的响应数据;
组合与多个感觉通道的每个通道相关联的响应数据以使多个感觉通道的每个通道的响应数据有效;
生成营销和/或娱乐刺激的复合增强效果测量。
25.如权利要求24所述的方法,其中多个感觉通道进一步包括皮肤电反应(GSR)。
