Abstract

uma composição de ácido purificado compreendendo ácido 2,5-furancarboxílico é preparada em um processo, compreendendo (i) oxidar uma matéria ?prima contendo 5-alcóximetilfurfural em um produto de oxidação compreendendo ácido 2,5-furandicarboxílico (fdca) e ácido 2-formil-furan-5-carboxílico (ffca) e ésteres de fdca e, opcionalmente, ésteres de ffca; (ii) opcionalmente, dissolver pelo menos parte do produto de oxidação em um solvente polar para obter uma solução do produto de oxidação, compreendendo fdca, ffca e ésteres de fdca e, opcionalmente, ésteres de ffca; (iii) hidrolisar a pelo menos uma parte do produto de oxidação na presença de água, assim, hidrolisando pelo menos ésteres de fdca e, opcionalmente, ésteres de ffca para obter uma solução aquosa de uma composição ácida compreendendo fdca, ffca e éster de fdca em uma quantidade abaixo da quantidade de éster de fdca na solução do produto de oxidação; (iv) colocar pelo menos uma parte da solução da composição ácida obtida na etapa (iii) em contato com hidrogênio na presença de um catalisador de hidrogenação para hidrogenar ffca em produtos de hidrogenação, produzindo uma solução hidrogenada; e (v) separar pelo menos uma porção do fdca de pelo menos parte da solução hidrogenada por cristalização.
