Abstract

uma composição de ácido purificado compreendendo ácido 2,5-furandicarboxílico é preparada por um processo compreendendo a) prover uma solução de composição ácida de uma composição ácida bruto em um solvente polar, a composição ácida bruto compreende ácido 2,5-furandicarboxílico (fdca) e ácido 2-formil-furan-5-carboxílico (ffca); b) colocar a solução de composição ácida em contato com hidrogênio na presença de um catalisador de hidrogenação para hidrogenar ffca em produtos de hidrogenação, de maneira que os produtos de hidrogenação contenham uma pequena quantidade de ácido 2-metil-furan-5-carboxílico (mfa) ou não mfa, produzindo uma solução hidrogenada; c) separar pelo menos uma porção do fdca da solução hidrogenada por cristalização.
