Abstract

a invenção fornece um processo para a produção de alquileno glicóis, em que o dito processo compreende fornecer uma alimentação que compreende pelo menos 10% em peso de lignocelulose e/ou um ou mais sacarídeos, com base na alimentação geral, em água para um reator; fornecer também uma alimentação que compreende uma ou mais espécies de solvente orgânico doador de hidrogênio para o reator; colocar a lignocelulose e/ou um ou mais sacarídeos no reator em contato com uma composição de catalisador retroaldólico em uma temperatura na faixa de pelo menos 160 a, no máximo, 270 °c, em que o sistema de solvente combinado no reator compreende na faixa de pelo menos 5 a, no máximo, 95% em peso de uma ou mais espécies de solvente orgânico doador de hidrogênio e na faixa de pelo me-nos 5 a, no máximo, 95% em peso de água.
