Abstract
Una célula madre o progenitora neural humana aislada expandible, donde la célula es una célula progenitora o una célula madre, que conserva su capacidad para diferenciarse en neuronas, astrocitos y oligodendrocitos, conserva su capacidad para diferenciarse en células del linaje de oligodendrocitos de manera eficaz durante todos los pasajes subsiguientes, y la célula expresa por lo menos los antígenos de la superficie celular, CD133 y CD140a. También se provee un método de cultivo in vitro de una célula progenitora o madre neural expandible aislada de un sistema nervioso central de mamífero, y el propio cultivo, en donde dicha célula conserva su capacidad para diferenciarse en neuronas, astrocitos y oligodendrocitos y su capacidad para diferenciarse en células del linaje de oligodendrocitos de una manera eficiente. Además, se provee un método de tratamiento de una condición causada por la pérdida de mielina o la pérdida de oligodendrocitos, así como una composición que comprende una célula madre neural aislada expandible o una célula cultivada mediante los métodos divulgados.
