Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una célula no diferenciada o progenitora neural humana expandible, aislada, donde la célula es una célula progenitora o célula no diferenciada, mantiene su capacidad de diferenciarse en neuronas, astrocitos, y oligodendrocitos, mantiene su capacidad para diferenciarse de células de linaje oligodendrocítico eficientemente a través de pasos subsecuentes, y la célula expresa al menos los antígenos de la superficie celular CD133 y CD140a. También se proporciona un método de cultivo in vitro de una célula progenitora o no diferenciada neural de mamífero aislada de un sistema nervioso central de mamífero, y el cultivo en sí, donde la célula conserva su capacidad para diferenciarse en neuronas, astrocitos, y oligodendrocitos y su capacidad para diferenciarse en células de linaje oligodendrocítico eficientemente. Además, se proporciona un método para tratar una condición causada por una pérdida de mielina o pérdida de oligodendrocitos como lo es una composición que comprende una célula no diferenciada neural expandible aislada o cultivada por los métodos de la invención.
