Abstract
Un proceso para producir acetaldehído selectivamente mediante una reacción, en fase de vapor, de ácido acético sobre una composición catalítica hidrogenadora para formar acetaldehído. En una modalidad, la reacción de ácido acético e hidrógeno sobre platino y hierro sostenidos sobre sílice produce acetaldehído selectivamente en fase de vapor a una temperatura de alrededor de 300sC. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para formar de manera selectiva y directa acetaldehído a partir de ácido acético, caracterizado por comprender: poner un flujo de alimentación que contiene ácido acético e hidrógeno a una temperatura elevada en contacto con un catalizador hidrogenante adecuado que incluye por lo menos un metal seleccionado del grupo que consiste de hierro, cobre, oro, platino, paladio y rutenio sobre un soporte para catalizadores adecuado y opcionalmente en combinación con uno o más catalizadores de metal seleccionados del grupo que consiste de estano, aluminio, potasio, cobalto, molibdeno, tungsteno y vanadio. Reivindicación 23: Un proceso para formar de manera selectiva y directa acetaldehído a partir de ácido acético caracterizado por comprender: poner un flujo de alimentación que contiene ácido acético e hidrógeno a una temperatura elevada en contacto con un catalizador hidrogenante adecuado que contiene de 0,5 por ciento en peso a 1 por ciento en peso de platino o rutenio y de 2,5 por ciento en peso a 5 por ciento en peso de estano o hierro sobre un soporte para catalizadores adecuado.
