Abstract

Estas composiciones se pueden emplear para atenuar o revertir los efectos de la deshidratación u otros efectos adversos del ejercicio, calor u otra actividad que produzca la pérdida de fluidos corporales. Las composiciones comprenden carbohidratos, electrolitos y agua junto con agentes saborizantes. Método para preparar dicha composición. Reivindicación 1: Una composición que comprende: (a) de alrededor de 4 a alrededor de 10% en peso de un carbohidrato, basado en el peso total de la composición; (b) al menos alrededor de 30 mEq/I de sodio; (c) al menos alrededor de 10 mEq/I de cloruro; (d) al menos alrededor de 3 mEq/I de potasio; y (e) agua; en la cual, en solución, la osmolalidad de la composición se encuentra en el rango de alrededor de 250 a alrededor de 350 mOsm/Kg.
