Abstract

Un método para la fluorOmetilacion de alcoholes halogenados. El método incluye el paso de proporcionar un alcohol alfa-halogenado de la formula: R1C(CX3)2OH, donde R1 es seleccionado a partir del grupo formado por hidrogeno y grupos alquilo. El alcohol alfa-halogenado se hace reaccionar con un primer compuesto de la formula: CH2(OR2)2 en presencia de un catalizador ácido para formar un acetal. El acetal resultante es luego clorado con un reactivo de cloracion para formar un compuesto del tipo cloruro de la formula: R1C(CX3)2OCH2Cl. El compuesto del tipo cloruro se convierte luego a un compuesto del tipo fluoruro de la formula: R1C(CX3)2OCH2F usando un reactivo de fluoracion. El sustituyente X es seleccionado de fluor, bromo, cloro y yodo.
