Definitions
- the present disclosure relates to a laser welding method for irradiating a workpiece while scanning a laser beam in a spiral shape.
- Laser welding involves irradiating the workpiece of the two workpieces to be joined with laser light to melt and join the workpiece of the irradiated portion with the energy of the laser beam. Since laser welding does not make physical contact with the workpiece, welding can be performed at high speed. In addition, since laser welding has a high energy density of laser light, it is possible to perform welding while keeping the influence of heat within a narrow range of a workpiece.
- the width of the bead that becomes the welded area is narrow. For this reason, the tolerance of the target of the laser beam is narrow, and the accuracy of the irradiated portion of the laser beam on the workpiece is required. When the accuracy of the laser beam irradiation part on the workpiece is poor, fusion failure due to the aim of the laser beam is likely to occur. In order to cope with this, the following method is known.
- Patent Document 1 describes a laser welding method in which a V-shaped groove is formed in advance on a workpiece, and laser light is irradiated on the V-shaped groove.
- Patent Document 2 describes a laser welding method for scanning a laser beam in a spiral shape.
- Patent Document 3 describes a laser welding method in which laser light is rotationally scanned so as to draw a circular or elliptical locus.
- the laser welding method includes a step of irradiating a laser beam in a spiral shape along a welded portion of a workpiece.
- the spiral shape is a combination of a circular orbit that moves the laser light in a circular shape and a moving orbit that moves the laser light in the direction of travel along the welding location.
- the first energy of the laser light that moves so as to have a component in the traveling direction in the circular orbit is more than the second energy of the laser light that moves so as to have a component in the direction opposite to the traveling direction in the circular orbit. large.

- the spiral shape is a combination of a circular orbit that moves the laser light in a circular shape and a moving orbit that moves the laser light in the direction of travel along the welding location.
- the third energy of the laser light in the traveling direction in the circular orbit is larger than the fourth energy of the laser light in the direction opposite to the traveling direction in the circular orbit.

- the work piece is melted evenly to the left and right with respect to the center line of the region irradiated with the laser beam. Therefore, the tolerance of any target for irradiating the laser light is equal to the left and right. Moreover, since the way of melting the workpiece is equal to the left and right, the workpiece can be prevented from being melted.

- the control unit 2 includes an output switching unit 7 that switches the energy of the laser beam output from the laser oscillator 3.
- the laser oscillator 3 outputs a laser beam 8 based on a command from the control unit 2.
- the optical fiber 4 is connected to the laser oscillator 3 and the laser irradiation head 5, and transmits the laser light 8 from the laser oscillator 3 to the laser irradiation head 5.
- the laser irradiation head 5 is attached to the tip of the arm of the robot 6 and irradiates the workpiece 9 with laser light 8 based on a command from the control unit 2.
- the robot 6 moves the laser irradiation head 5 based on a command from the control unit 2.
- the laser beam 8 output from the laser oscillator 3 enters the laser irradiation head 5 through the optical fiber 4.
- the laser irradiation head 5 condenses the laser beam 8 by a lens (not shown) provided inside and irradiates the workpiece 9. Further, the laser irradiation head 5 can rotate and move the laser light 8 so as to form a circular orbit by rotating a prism (not shown) provided therein.
- the laser irradiation head 5 is moved by the robot 6. Thereby, in the welding area
- the control unit 2 simultaneously controls the laser oscillator 3, the laser irradiation head 5, and the robot 6, so that the irradiation position of the laser light 8 can be moved spirally on the workpiece 9.
- the irradiation position of the laser beam 8 is moved by the laser irradiation head 5 and the robot 6.
- the present embodiment can be used even if a galvano scanner or the like is used.
- the disclosed laser welding method can be performed.
- FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a locus in which the laser beam 8 is spirally irradiated in the present embodiment.
- the laser irradiation head 5 of the laser welding apparatus 1 can move the laser beam 8 in a circular shape. That is, the laser beam 8 can be moved to draw a “circular orbit”.
- the laser beam 8 is moved in a circular shape with a radius R, and is moved clockwise (clockwise).
- the circular moving speed of the laser beam 8 is r (m / min).
- the robot 6 of the laser welding apparatus 1 can move the laser beam 8 along a welding location in a straight line or a curved line. That is, the laser beam 8 can be set in the welding progress direction so as to draw a “moving trajectory”. In FIG. 2, the irradiation position of the laser beam 8 is moved upward along the linear center line 21. The linear moving speed of the laser beam 8 is assumed to be v (m / min).
- the irradiation position of the laser beam 8 can be moved spirally as shown in FIG.
- the region irradiated with the laser beam 8 is between the left boundary line 22 on the left side in the traveling direction and the right boundary line 23 on the right side in the traveling direction.
- the irradiation position of the laser light 8 (hereinafter simply referred to as the irradiation position) proceeds in the welding progress direction while drawing a semicircle by a circular orbit. That is, the drawn locus becomes an elliptical arc obtained by extending a circular orbit having a radius R in the welding progress direction.
- the speed of the irradiation position on the left boundary line 22 is v + r (m / min) obtained by adding a circular moving speed to a linear moving speed.
- the circular movement speed r includes a component in the same direction as the linear movement speed v.
- the irradiation position returns to the direction opposite to the welding progress direction while drawing a semicircle by a circular orbit. That is, the drawn locus is an elliptical arc obtained by reducing a circular orbit having a radius R in the welding progress direction.
- the speed of the irradiation position on the right boundary line 23 is vr (m / min) obtained by subtracting the circular movement speed from the linear movement speed.
- the circular movement speed r includes a component in the direction opposite to the linear movement speed v.
- the trajectory of the irradiation position becomes a large elliptical arc, and the workpiece by the laser beam 8 is deformed.
- the molten pool is easy to cool.
- the trajectory of the irradiation position becomes a small elliptical arc, and heat by the laser beam 8 is likely to be trapped. Therefore, the work piece 9 is more likely to be burned out on the right side with respect to the welding progress direction. Therefore, the target tolerance of the laser beam 8 is narrower on the right side with respect to the welding progress direction.
- the A part and the B part are also on the right side with respect to the welding progress direction as described above, the heat is easily trapped and easily melted off.
- the C and D portions are on the left side with respect to the welding progress direction, and therefore, the molten pool generated by irradiating the laser beam 8 once is easy to cool and hardly burns down. That is, the A part, the B part, and the E part are more likely to be burned out than the C part and the D part. Further, it has been found that the absorption rate of the laser beam 8 is higher in the liquid phase than in the solid phase. Therefore, once the laser beam 8 is irradiated again onto the molten pool generated by irradiating the laser beam 8, energy is easily absorbed and burnout is likely to occur.
- the workpiece 9 is irradiated while scanning the laser beam 8 in a spiral shape, and the energy given to the workpiece 9 by the laser beam 8 is changed accordingly.
- FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the energy in the circular orbit of the laser beam 8 in the present embodiment. That is, the moving track that is the movement in the welding direction along the welding location is removed from the spiral track.
- the parameters of the irradiation pattern of the laser beam 8 in the circular orbit are the rotation direction, the radius R of the circle, the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ for clarifying the irradiation position of the laser beam 8, and the rotation speed (in the circular orbit). Welding speed).
- the present embodiment an example is shown in which laser welding is performed by irradiating the workpiece 9 with laser light 8 in a spiral shape while moving the laser irradiation head 5 by the robot 6.
- the movement is not limited to the laser irradiation head 5 and the robot 6, and a galvano scanner may be used.

- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ indicated by the solid line from 270 ° to 90 ° (through 180 ° because it is clockwise) is on the left side with respect to the welding progress direction.
- the total amount of energy from the laser beam 8 (second energy) in the trajectory indicated by the dotted line is indicated by a solid line. What is necessary is just to make it smaller than the total amount (1st energy) of the energy from the laser beam 8 in the track.
- the trajectory in which the irradiation position of the laser beam 8 is indicated by a solid line is a state in which a component in the welding progress direction is included in the moving speed of the laser beam 8 in the circular trajectory.
- the trajectory in which the irradiation position of the laser beam 8 is indicated by a dotted line is a state in which the moving speed of the laser beam 8 in the circular trajectory includes a component in the direction opposite to the welding progress direction.

- the total amount of energy given to the front in the welding direction (third energy) can be made larger than the total amount of energy given to the rear (fourth energy).
- the upper and lower limits of the energy of the laser beam 8 and the upper and lower limits of the rotation speed are not limited to these values.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is 45 ° and 225 ° where the laser output and the rotation speed of the laser beam change, the present invention is not limited to this.
- the energy relationship described above may be used in the left-right direction and the front-rear direction with respect to the forward welding progress direction.
- the energy is changed at positions where the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is 45 ° and 225 °.
- the asymmetry of the energy in the left-right direction with respect to the welding direction is greatly influenced by the moving speed in the welding direction. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 21, when the moving speed in the welding progress direction is fast, it is preferable that the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ for changing the energy is 45 ° to 90 ° and 225 ° to 270 °. In other words, control that emphasizes suppression of energy asymmetry in the horizontal direction with respect to the welding progress direction is preferable.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ for changing the energy is preferably set to 0 ° to 45 ° and 180 ° to 225 °. That is, control that places importance on the balance of energy in the front-rear direction with respect to the welding direction is preferable.
- the workpiece 9 is, for example, a galvanized steel sheet
- zinc vapor is blown out to generate large spatters or cause internal defects such as pits and blowholes.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is greater than the energy (third energy) of the laser beam from 180 ° to 0 ° (through 90 ° because it is clockwise).
- FIG. 22 is a diagram showing the energy in the circular orbit of the laser light 8 in the present embodiment.
- the energy of the laser beam is increased at the rear of the welding progress direction and on the left side of the welding progress direction.
- the laser beam 8 in a solid line with a coordinate rotation angle ⁇ from 315 ° (E in FIG. 22) to 135 ° (F in FIG. 22) (through 225 ° because it is clockwise) Is higher than the energy of the laser beam 8 on the dotted line when the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is from 135 ° to 315 ° (through 45 ° because it is clockwise).
- the laser output and the rotational speed may be controlled as shown in the first and second embodiments.
- the total amount of energy (first energy) given to the left machining region 24 on the left side with respect to the welding progress direction is made larger than the total amount of energy (second energy) given to the right machining region 25 on the right side.
- the total amount of energy given to the rear in the welding direction (fourth energy) can be made larger than the total amount of energy given to the front (third energy).
- the upper limit and lower limit of the laser output of the laser light 8 and the upper limit and lower limit of the rotation speed are not limited to these numerical values.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is 315 ° and 135 ° where the laser output or the rotation speed of the laser light changes
- the present invention is not limited to this.
- the energy relationship described above may be used in the left-right direction and the front-rear direction with respect to the forward welding progress direction.
- the energy is changed at the positions where the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is 315 ° and 135 °.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ for changing the energy is preferably 90 ° to 135 ° and 270 ° to 315 °. In other words, control that emphasizes suppression of energy asymmetry in the horizontal direction with respect to the welding progress direction is preferable.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ for changing the energy is preferably set to 135 ° to 180 ° and 315 ° to 0 ° (360 °). That is, control that places importance on the balance of energy in the front-rear direction with respect to the welding direction is preferable.
- FIG. 23 is a diagram showing energy in the circular orbit of the laser light 8 in the present embodiment.
- the energy by the laser beam is increased only in front of the welding progress direction.
- the laser output and the rotational speed may be controlled as shown in the first and second embodiments.
- the total amount (third energy) of energy given forward in the welding direction can be made larger than the total amount of energy (fourth energy) given backward.
- the upper limit and lower limit of the laser output of the laser light 8 and the upper limit and lower limit of the rotation speed are not limited to these numerical values.
- the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is set to 0 ° and 180 ° in the place where the laser output and the rotation speed of the laser light change, the present invention is not limited to this. As a result, it does not matter as long as the above-described energy relationship is established in the front-rear direction with respect to the forward welding progress direction.
- FIG. 24 is a diagram showing energy in a circular orbit of the laser beam 8 in the present embodiment.
- the energy by the laser beam is increased only in the rear of the welding progress direction.
- the energy by the laser beam 8 in the solid line when the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is 0 ° to 180 ° (through 270 ° because it is clockwise) the coordinate rotation angle ⁇ is 180 ° to 0 °. It is higher than the energy of the laser beam 8 on the dotted line (through 90 ° because it is clockwise).
- the laser output and the rotational speed may be controlled as shown in the first and second embodiments.
- the total amount of energy (fourth energy) given to the rear in the welding progress direction can be made larger than the total amount of energy given to the front (third energy).
As a result, it does not matter as long as the above-described energy relationship is established in the front-rear direction with respect to the welding progress direction.
- the circular orbit at the irradiation position of the laser beam 8 has been described as rotating clockwise (clockwise), but may be rotating counterclockwise (counterclockwise).
- the total amount of energy by the laser beam 8 on the side where the component of the welding direction is included in the moving speed of the laser beam 8 in the circular orbit is the laser beam. It is only necessary that the moving speed of the circular orbit 8 is larger than the total amount of energy by the laser beam 8 on the side containing the component in the direction opposite to the welding progress direction.
- the laser output or the rotation speed of the laser beam 8 is changed to change the total amount of energy by the laser beam 8, but both may be combined. Further, in the case where the laser output and the rotation speed of the laser beam 8 are combined, as a result, if the total amount of energy is controlled to the above-described relation, the magnitude relation of the laser output or the relation of the rotation speed is the embodiment.
- the reverse relationship to 1 to 3 may be used. For example, in the first embodiment, even if the rotation speed in the left machining area 24 is higher than the rotation speed in the right machining area 25, the laser output in the left machining area 24 is made larger than the laser output in the right machining area 25. As a result, it is only necessary that the total amount of energy given to the left machining area 24 is larger than the total amount of energy given to the right machining area 25.
- the work piece is melted evenly to the left and right with respect to the center line of the region irradiated with the laser beam. Therefore, the tolerance of any target for irradiating the laser light is equal to the left and right. Moreover, since the method of melting the workpiece is equal to the left and right, the workpiece can be prevented from being melted and is industrially useful.
