しかしながら、水酸基を多く持つセルロースをナノレベルまで微細化するには、現在の技術では水中で解繊を行うか、樹脂に大量の水を混合して解繊する必要があり、解繊後のセルロースナノファイバーは水を多く含有する(特許文献1参照)。この含水解繊セルロースナノファイバーを各種樹脂へと複合化するには、製造されたセルロースナノファイバーの脱水工程が必須となっている。また、セルロースは分子間水素結合を形成しやすいため、セルロースナノファイバー脱水工程中に再凝集してしまい、樹脂中での分散が不良となっていた。
つまり、セルロースナノファイバーを、より安価でかつ簡単な工程で各種樹脂に複合化できるような技術の確立が求められている。
即ち、本発明は、水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)中でセルロースを微細化することを特徴とする、セルロースナノファイバーの製造方法を提供するものである。
本発明におけるセルロースナノファイバーは、各種セルロースを微細化する事で得られ、樹脂に含有させることで樹脂の破壊靭性値などを強化できる樹脂強化剤として使用することができる。本発明におけるセルロースは、微細化材料として利用可能なものであればよく、パルプ、綿、紙、レーヨン・キュプラ・ポリノジック・アセテートなどの再生セルロース繊維、バクテリア産生セルロース、ホヤなどの動物由来セルロースなどが利用可能である。また、これらのセルロースは必要に応じて表面を化学修飾処理をしたものであってもよい。
本発明におけるセルロースナノファイバーは、水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)中でセルロースを解繊することで、得ることができる。
本発明における水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)は、エポキシ基を含有し、水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である樹脂及び化合物である。該変性エポキシ樹脂(A)は、エポキシ樹脂(B)とカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)とを反応させることで得ることができる。
本発明で用いるエポキシ樹脂(B)は、分子内にエポキシ基を有する化合物であって、後述するカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)と反応して、水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)を生成するものであればよく、その構造等に特に制限はない。例えば、ビスフェノールA型エポキシ樹脂、ビスフェノールF型エポキシ樹脂、ビスフェノールAD型エポキシ樹脂、ビスフェノールS型エポキシ樹脂、フェノールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、クレゾールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、p-tert-ブチルフェノールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、ノニルフェノールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂、t-ブチルカテコール型エポキシ樹脂等の多価エポキシ樹脂等が挙げられ、更に1価のエポキシ樹脂としては、ブタノール等の脂肪族アルコール、炭素数11~12の脂肪族アルコール、フェノール、p-エチルフェノール、o-クレゾール、m-クレゾール、p-クレゾール、p-ターシャリブチルフェノール、s-ブチルフェノール、ノニルフェノール、キシレノール等の1価フェノール類とエピハロヒドリンとの縮合物、ネオデカン酸等の1価カルボキシル基とエピハロヒドリンとの縮合物等が挙げられ、グリシジルアミンとしては、ジアミノジフェニルメタンとエピハロヒドリンとの縮合物等、多価脂肪族エポキシ樹脂としては、例えば、大豆油、ヒマシ油等の植物油のポリグリシジルエーテルが挙げられ、多価アルキレングリコール型エポキシ樹脂としては、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、1,4-ブタンジオール、1,6-ヘキサンジオール、グリセリン、エリスリトール、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、ポリテトラメチレンエーテルグリコール、トリメチロールプロパンとエピハロヒドリンとの縮合物等、更には特開2005-239928号公報記載の水性エポキシ樹脂等が挙げられ、これらは1種類で用いても、2種類以上を併用しても良い。
本発明におけるカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)は、上記エポキシ樹脂(A)と反応して水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)を生成するものであればよく、カルボキシル基を有する化合物(C1)と、アミノ基を有する化合物(C2)と、カルボキシル基及びアミノ基を有する化合物(C3)のいずれか1種以上を用いることができる。
また、カルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)においてさらに水酸基を有するカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C4)は、エポキシ化合物(B)と反応した際に変性エポキシ樹脂(A)に高い水酸基価を付与できるため、特に好ましい。
本発明におけるカルボキシル基を有する化合物(C1)とは、カルボキシル基を一つ以上有する化合物である。カルボキシル基を一つ有する化合物として、具体的には、ギ酸、酢酸、プロピオン酸、ブタン酸、ペンタン酸、ヘキサン酸、ヘプタン酸、オクタン酸、ノナン酸、デカン酸、クロロ酢酸、トリフルオロ酢酸、イソプロピル酸、イソステアリン酸、ネオデカン酸、などの脂肪酸、安息香酸、メチル安息香酸、ジメチル安息香酸、トリメチル安息香酸、フェニル酢酸、4-イソプロピル安息香酸、2-フェニルプロパン酸、2-フェニルアクリル酸、3-フェニルプロパン酸、ケイ被酸などの芳香族カルボン酸等が挙げられる。カルボキシル基を二つ以上有する化合物として、具体的には、コハク酸、アジピン酸、テレフタレート酸、イソフタル酸、ピロメリット酸などのカルボン酸類、及びこれらの無水物を挙げることができる。さらに、マレイン酸、無水マレイン酸、フマル酸、イタコン酸、シトラコン酸、クロルマレイン酸及びこれらのエステル等があり、ハロゲン化無水マレイン酸等、アコニット酸などのα,β-不飽和二塩基酸やジヒドロムコン酸等のβ,γ-不飽和二塩基酸が挙げらる。また、飽和二塩基酸およびその無水物として、フタル酸、無水フタル酸、ハロゲン化無水フタル酸、イソフタル酸、テレフタル酸、ニトロフタル酸、テトラヒドロフタル酸、テトラヒドロ無水フタル酸、エンドメチレンテトラヒドロ無水フタル酸、ハロゲン化無水フタル酸及びこれらのエステル等があり、ヘキサヒドロフタル酸、ヘキサヒドロ無水フタル酸、ヘキサヒドロテレフタル酸、ヘキサヒドロイソフタル酸、1,4-シクロヘキサンジカルボン酸、1,3-シクロヘキサンジカルボン酸、メチルヘキサヒドロフタル酸、ヘット酸、1,1-シクロブタンジカルボン酸、シュウ酸、コハク酸、コハク酸無水物、マロン酸、グルタル酸、アジピン酸、アゼライン酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、セバシン酸、1,12-ドデカン2酸,2,6-ナフタレンジカルボン酸、2,7-ナフタレンジカルボン酸、2,3-ナフタレンジカルボン酸、2,3-ナフタレンジカルボン酸無水物、4,4’-ビフェニルジカルボン酸等が挙げられる。
本発明におけるアミノ基を有する化合物(C2)とは、アミノ基を一つ以上有する化合物である。具体的には、アミノ基を一つ有する化合物として、メチルアミン、エチルアミン、ジメチルアミン、ジエチルアミン、プロピルアミン、ブチルアミン、N,N-ジメチル-2-プロパンアミン、アニリン、トルイジン、2-アミノアントラセンなどをあげることができる。2つ以上のアミノ基を有する化合物としては、エチレンジアミン、1,3-プロパンジアミン、1,4-ブタンジアミン、1,6-ヘキサメチレンジアミン、1,4-シクロヘキサンジアミン、3-アミノメチル-3,5,5-トリメチルシクロヘキシルアミン、ピペラジン、2,5-ジメチルピペラジン、イソホロンジアミン、4,4’-シクロヘキシルメタンジアミン、ノルボルナンジアミン、ヒドラジン、ジエチレントリアミン、トリエチレントリアミン、1,3-ビス(アミノメチル)シクロヘキサン、キシリレンジアミンなどをあげることができる。
本発明におけるカルボキシル基及びアミノ基を有する化合物(C3)とは、カルボキシル基とアミノ基を一つずつ以上有する化合物である。代表的にはアミノ酸が挙げられ、さらに水酸基を有しても構わない。具体的には、アラニン、アルギニン、アスパラギン、アスオアラギン酸、システイン、グルタミン、グルタミン酸、グリシン、ヒスチジン、イソロイシン、ロイシン、リシン、メチオニン、フェニルアラニン、プロリン、セリン、トレオニン、トリプトファン、チロシン、バリン、アミノラク酸、テアニン、トリコロミン酸、カイニン酸等が挙げられる。
さらに水酸基を有する、カルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C4)とは、カルボキシル基またはアミノ基を有し、さらに水酸基を一つ以上有する化合物である。具体的には、グリコール酸、グリセリン酸、ヒドロキシプロピオン酸、ヒドロキシラク酸、リンゴ酸、2,3-ジヒドロキシブタン二酸、クエン酸、イソクエン酸、メバロン酸、バントイン酸、リシノール酸、ジメチロールプロピオン酸、ジメチロールブタン酸、ヒドロキシフェニルプロパン酸、マンデル酸、ベンジル酸、ヒドロキシメチルアミン、ヒドロキシエチルアミン、ヒドロキシプロピルアミンなどが挙げられる。
本発明における水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)は、エポキシ樹脂(B)のエポキシ基とカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)のカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を反応させることで得ることができる。水酸基価が100mgKOH/gより少ない場合、セルロースとの親和性が低くなることから、セルロースナノファイバーへの解繊は進みにくいため、好ましくない。エポキシ基とカルボキシル基又はアミノ基の反応比は、水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上生じ、かつ所望のエポキシ基量が残るように任意に設定すればよい。
使用する重合溶媒は特に制限はない。例えば、メタノール、エタノール、イソプロパノール、1 - ブタノール、第3 級ブタノール、イソブタノール、ジアセトンアルコール、アセトン、メチルエチルケトン、ジエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、シクロヘキサノン、ジブチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、エチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジエチルエーテル、ブチルセロソルブ、トルエン、キシレン、酢酸エチル、酢酸イソブチル等が挙げられる。また、これらの溶媒は単独で使用しても良いし、混合して使用しても良い。
具体的には、三フッ化ホウ素、ベンジルトリメチルアンモニウムクロリド、ジメチルアミノピリジン、ピリジン、8-ジアザビシクロ[5.4.0]ウンデカ-7-エン、トリフェニルホスフィンなどが挙げられる。
本発明におけるセルロースナノファイバーの製造は、前記変性エポキシ樹脂(A)中にセルロースを添加し、機械的に箭断力を与えることにより行うことができる。箭断力を与える手段としては、ビーズミル、超音波ホモジナイザー、一軸押出機、二軸押出機等の押出機、バンバリーミキサー、グラインダー、加圧ニーダー、2本ロール等の公知の混練機等を用い剪断力を与えることができる。これらの中でも高粘度の樹脂中でも安定した剪断力を得られる観点から加圧ニーダーを用いることが好ましい。
変性エポキシ樹脂(A)中で微細化されたセルロースナノファイバーは、精製工程を経ずにそのままマスタバッチとして利用することができる。また、マスタバッチに硬化剤(D)を加えたものを本発明の樹脂組成物として用い、成形体を直接製造してもかまわない。
本発明における硬化剤として、潜在性硬化剤、ポリアミン化合物、ポリフェノール化合物及びカチオン系光開始剤等が挙げられる。
セルロースナノファイバーを含有するマスタバッチと硬化物(D)とを含有する組成物に、希釈用樹脂(E)を配合することができる。マスタバッチと硬化物(D)を混合した後に希釈用樹脂(E)を添加してもよいし、マスタバッチと希釈用樹脂(E)を混合した後に硬化剤(D)を混合してもよいし、マスタバッチと硬化物(D)と希釈用樹脂(E)を同時に混合してもよい。本発明におけるセルロースナノファイバーを含有するマスタバッチを樹脂強化剤として希釈用樹脂(E)に混合することで、樹脂組成物の強度を向上させることが可能である。希釈用樹脂(E)としてはマスタバッチに混合することができれば特に制限が無く、単量体であっても重合体であってもかまわず、熱可塑性樹脂および熱硬化性樹脂のいずれも使用することができる。また、一種類を用いてもよく、複数種の樹脂を組み合わせて用いてもかまわない。
前記樹脂組成物におけるセルロースナノファイバーの配合率は、本発明の効果を損なわない範囲であれば任意であり、セルロースナノファイバーと解繊樹脂、硬化剤(D)及び希釈用樹脂(E)の合計を100質量%としたときに、好ましいセルロースナノファイバー量は0.5質量%~30質量%である。
前記樹脂組成物には、本発明の効果が損なわれない範囲であれば、その用途に応じて従来公知の各種添加剤を含有しても良く、例えば、加水分解防止剤、着色剤、難燃剤、酸化防止剤、重合開始剤、重合禁止剤、紫外線吸収剤、帯電防止剤、滑剤、離型剤、消泡剤、レベリング剤、光安定剤(例えば、ヒンダードアミン等)、酸化防止剤、無機フィラー、有機フィラー等をあげることができる。
本発明の樹脂組成物に係る成形体を成形する方法については、特に限定されない。板状の製品を製造するのであれば、押し出し成形法が一般的であるが、平面プレスによっても可能である。この他、異形押し出し成形法、ブロー成形法、圧縮成形法、真空成形法、射出成形法等を用いることが可能である。またフィルム状の製品を製造するのであれば、溶融押出法の他、溶液キャスト法を用いることができ、溶融成形方法を用いる場合、インフレーションフィルム成形、キャスト成形、押出ラミネーション成形、カレンダー成形、シート成形、繊維成形、ブロー成形、射出成形、回転成形、被覆成形等が挙げられる。また、活性エネルギー線で硬化する樹脂の場合、活性エネルギー線を用いた各種硬化方法を用いて成形体を製造する事ができる。
本発明における樹脂組成物は、各種用途に好適に利用できる。例えば、自動車部品、航空機部品、電子・電気部品、建築材料、容器・包装部材、生活用品、スポーツ・レジャー用品等が挙げられるが、これらに限定される物ではない。
(合成例1) 変性エポキシ樹脂1の製造
温度計、攪拌機、窒素導入管、冷却管、を備えたガラス製4ツ口フラスコにDIC株式会社製 EPICLON 830(ビスフェノールF型エポキシ樹脂)を1200g、Bis-TMA(ジメチロールプロピオン酸)を191g、反応触媒としてTPP(トリフェニルホスフィン)を300ppmとなるよう0.4g仕込み、140℃で3時間反応させた。室温まで冷却し、酸価1mgKOH/g以下、水酸基価169mgKOH/gの変性エポキシ樹脂1を得た。
温度計、攪拌機、窒素導入管、冷却管、を備えたガラス製4ツ口フラスコにDIC株式会社製 EPICLON 830(ビスフェノールF型エポキシ樹脂)を1200g、バーサティック酸(ネオデカン酸)を597g、反応触媒としてTPP(トリフェニルホスフィン)を300ppmとなるよう0.5g仕込み、140℃で3時間反応させた。室温まで冷却し、酸価1mgKOH/g以下、水酸基価112mgKOH/gの変性エポキシ樹脂2を得た。
温度計、攪拌機、窒素導入管、冷却管、を備えたガラス製4ツ口フラスコにDIC株式会社製 EPICLON 830(ビスフェノールF型エポキシ樹脂)を1000g、トール油脂肪酸を871g、反応触媒としてTPP(トリフェニルホスフィン)を300ppmとなるよう0.6g仕込み、140℃で24時間反応させた。室温まで冷却し、酸価1mgKOH/g以下、水酸基価88mgKOH/gの比較変性エポキシ樹脂を得た。
温度計、攪拌機、窒素導入管、冷却管、を備えたガラス製4ツ口フラスコにDIC株式会社製 EPICLON 850(ビスフェノールA型エポキシ樹脂)を1400g、Bis-TMA(ジメチロールプロピオン酸)を203g、反応触媒としてTPP(トリフェニルホスフィン)を300ppmとなるよう0.48g仕込み、140℃で3時間反応させた。室温まで冷却し、酸価1mgKOH/g以下、水酸基価155mgKOH/gの変性エポキシ樹脂3を得た。
温度計、攪拌機、窒素導入管、冷却管、を備えたガラス製4ツ口フラスコにDIC株式会社製 EPICLON 830(ビスフェノールF型エポキシ樹脂)を1400g、Bis-TMA(ジメチロールプロピオン酸)を334g、反応触媒としてTPP(トリフェニルホスフィン)を300ppmとなるよう0.52g仕込み、140℃で5時間反応させた。室温まで冷却し、酸価1mgKOH/g以下、水酸基価300mgKOH/gの変性エポキシ樹脂4を得た。
酸価は、変性エポキシ樹脂1gを中和するのに必要な水酸化カリウムの重量(mg)を示しており、単位はmgKOH/gである。
メチルエチルケトンに変性エポキシ樹脂を溶解して、0.1規定の水酸化カリウムメタノール溶液で滴定して求めた。
水酸基価は、変性エポキシ樹脂1g中のOH基のモル数と同じモル数の水酸化カリウムの重量(mg)を示しており、単位はmgKOH/gである。
13C-NMRスペクトルにおける、水酸基に由来するピークの面積値から求めた。測定装置は、日本電子製JNM-LA300を用い、試料の10wt%重クロロホルム溶液に緩和試薬としてCr(acac)3 10mgを加え、ゲートデカップリング法による13C-NMRの定量測定を行なった。積算は4000回行なった。
(実施例1)
合成例1で合成した変性エポキシ樹脂1を450g、日本製紙ケミカル社製のセルロースパウダー製品「KCフロックW-50GK」を550g、森山製作所製加圧ニーダー(DS1-5GHH-H)に投入し、60rpmで240分間加圧混練を行ってセルロースの微細化処理を行い、変性エポキシ樹脂1とセルロースナノファイバーの混合物であるマスタバッチ1を得た。得られたマスタバッチ1を0.1g量り取り、0.1%の濃度となるようにアセトンに懸濁し、特殊機械工業(株)製TKホモミキサーA型を用いて15000rpm20分間分散処理を行い、ガラス上に広げてアセトンを乾燥し、走査型電子顕微鏡にてセルロースの微細化状態を確認した。ほとんどのセルロースにおいて、繊維の短軸方向の長さが100nmより細かく解れていることから、セルロースの微細化が良好であることが分かった。
合成例2で合成した変性エポキシ樹脂2を350g、日本製紙ケミカル社製のセルロースパウダー製品「KCフロックW-50GK」を650g、森山製作所製加圧ニーダー(DS1-5GHH-H)に投入し、60rpmで240分間加圧混練を行ってセルロースの微細化処理を行い、変性エポキシ樹脂2とセルロースナノファイバーの混合物であるマスタバッチ2を得た。得られたマスタバッチ2を0.1g量り取り、0.1%の濃度となるようにアセトンに懸濁し、特殊機械工業(株)製TKホモミキサーA型を用いて15000rpm20分間分散処理を行い、ガラス上に広げてアセトンを乾燥し、走査型電子顕微鏡にてセルロースの微細化状態を確認した。ほとんどのセルロースにおいて、繊維の短軸方向の長さが100nmより細かく解れていることから、セルロースの微細化が良好であることが分かった。
合成例3で合成した比較変性エポキシ樹脂を400g、日本製紙ケミカル社製のセルロースパウダー製品「KCフロックW-50GK」を600g、森山製作所製加圧ニーダー(DS1-5GHH-H)に投入し、60rpmで240分間加圧混練を行ってセルロースの微細化処理を行い、マスタバッチとセルロースの混合物である比較マスタバッチを得た。得られた比較マスタバッチを0.1g量り取り、0.1%の濃度となるようにアセトンに懸濁し、特殊機械工業(株)製TKホモミキサーA型を用いて15000rpm20分間分散処理を行い、ガラス上に広げてアセトンを乾燥し、走査型電子顕微鏡にてセルロースの微細化状態を確認した。繊維の短軸方向の長さが100nmより細かく解れているセルロースは少なく、ほとんどの繊維が1μm以上であったことから、セルロースの微細化が進んでいないことがわかった。
〔樹脂組成物の製造〕
実施例1で得られたマスタバッチ1を3.5g、DIC株式会製エポキシ樹脂 EPICLON830を100.0g、とを混合した。混合は、プライミクス社製撹拌装置ラボリューションに同社製ネオミクサー撹拌翼4-2.5型を装着して12000回転で30分間撹拌することによって行った。室温まで冷却した後、硬化剤としてメチルテトラヒドロフタル酸無水物(DIC株式会社製 EPICLON B-570H)を100.0gと、東京化成工業製 N,N-ジメチルベンジルアミンを1.0g、とを添加し、さらに撹拌を行い、樹脂組成物1を得た。樹脂組成物1中のセルロースナノファイバーの含有率は1.0質量%となる。
〔成形板及び試験片の作製〕
上記樹脂組成物1を真空チャンバーにて脱気を行い、型に注いで110℃で3時間加熱し硬化させた。その後、175℃で5時間アフターキュアを行い、厚み6mmの注型成形板を得た。成形板に凝集物は見られなかった。
この成形板より、ASTM D-5045(3点曲げ試験片(SENB))に規定される試験片(今回の試験片高さW=12.7mm、奥行きB=6mm ノッチと予亀裂の大きさa=0.45~0.55W)をN=8で作製した。
〔破壊靱性試験〕
インストロン社製万能試験機を用い、ASTM D-5045に準拠し、スパン50.8mm、ヘッドスピード10mm/minの条件で3点曲げ試験を実施し、所定の方法から荷重-変位曲線が線形内であることを確認の上、破壊靭性値を算出した。破壊靭性値の平均値(試験数8)は0.8296(MPa・√m)であった。
実施例3において、実施例1で得られたマスタバッチ1を3.5gを、実施例2で得られたマスタバッチ2を3.0gに変更する以外は実施例3と同様の操作を行い、樹脂組成物2を得た。樹脂組成物2中のセルロースナノファイバーの含有率は1.0質量%となる。
成形板及び試験片の作製、破壊靱性試験を実施例3と同様に行った。樹脂組成物3から得られた成形板に凝集物は見られなかった。成形板の破壊靭性値は、0.8012(MPa・√m)であった。
DIC株式会製エポキシ樹脂 EPICLON830を100.0gと、メチルテトラヒドロフタル酸無水物(DIC株式会社製 EPICLON B-570H)を100.0g、東京化成工業製 N,N-ジメチルベンジルアミンを1.0g、とを混合し樹脂組成物3を得た。混合は、プライミクス社製撹拌装置ラボリューションに同社製ネオミクサー撹拌翼4-2.5型を装着して行った。
成形板及び試験片の作製、曲げ試験を実施例3と同様に行った。樹脂組成物3から得られた成形板に凝集物は見られなかった。成形板の破壊靭性値は、0.6869(MPa・√m)であった。
実施例3において、実施例1で得られたマスタバッチ1を3.5gを、比較例1で得られた比較マスタバッチを3.2gに変更する以外は実施例3と同様の操作を行い、樹脂組成物4を得た。樹脂組成物4中のセルロースナノファイバーの含有率は1.0質量%となる。
成形板及び試験片の作製、曲げ試験を実施例3と同様に行った。樹脂組成物4から得られた成形板に凝集物があった。成形板の破壊靭性値は、0.7239(MPa・√m)であった。
合成例4で合成した変性エポキシ樹脂3を500g、日本製紙ケミカル社製のセルロースパウダー製品「KCフロックW-50GK」を500g、森山製作所製加圧ニーダー(DS1-5GHH-H)に投入し、60rpmで360分間加圧混練を行ってセルロースの微細化処理を行い、変性エポキシ樹脂3とセルロースナノファイバーの混合物であるマスタバッチ3を得た。得られたマスタバッチ3を0.1g量り取り、0.1%の濃度となるようにアセトンに懸濁し、特殊機械工業(株)製TKホモミキサーA型を用いて15000rpm20分間分散処理を行い、ガラス上に広げてアセトンを乾燥し、走査型電子顕微鏡にてセルロースの微細化状態を確認した。ほとんどのセルロースにおいて、繊維の短軸方向の長さが100nmより細かく解れていることから、セルロースの微細化が良好であることが分かった。
合成例5で合成した変性エポキシ樹脂4を500g、日本製紙ケミカル社製のセルロースパウダー製品「KCフロックW-50GK」を500g、森山製作所製加圧ニーダー(DS1-5GHH-H)に投入し、60rpmで240分間加圧混練を行ってセルロースの微細化処理を行い、変性エポキシ樹脂3とセルロースナノファイバーの混合物であるマスタバッチ4を得た。得られたマスタバッチ4を0.1g量り取り、0.1%の濃度となるようにアセトンに懸濁し、特殊機械工業(株)製TKホモミキサーA型を用いて15000rpm20分間分散処理を行い、ガラス上に広げてアセトンを乾燥し、走査型電子顕微鏡にてセルロースの微細化状態を確認した。ほとんどのセルロースにおいて、繊維の短軸方向の長さが100nmより細かく解れていることから、セルロースの微細化が良好であることが分かった。
実施例3において、実施例1で得られたマスタバッチ1を3.5gを、実施例5で得られたマスタバッチ3を4.1gに変更する以外は実施例3と同様の操作を行い、樹脂組成物5を得た。樹脂組成物5中のセルロースナノファイバーの含有率は1.0質量%となる。
成形板及び試験片の作製、破壊靱性試験を実施例3と同様に行った。樹脂組成物5から得られた成形板に凝集物は見られなかった。成形板の破壊靭性値は、0.7649(MPa・√m)であった。
実施例3において、実施例1で得られたマスタバッチ1を3.5gを、実施例6で得られたマスタバッチ4を4.1gに変更する以外は実施例3と同様の操作を行い、樹脂組成物5を得た。樹脂組成物5中のセルロースナノファイバーの含有率は1.0質量%となる。
成形板及び試験片の作製、破壊靱性試験を実施例3と同様に行った。樹脂組成物5から得られた成形板に凝集物は見られなかった。成形板の破壊靭性値は、0.7560(MPa・√m)であった。
Claims (8)
- 水酸基価が100mgKOH/g以上である変性エポキシ樹脂(A)中でセルロースを微細化することを特徴とする、セルロースナノファイバーの製造方法。
- 前記変性エポキシ化合物(A)が、エポキシ樹脂(B)とカルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)とを反応させて得られるものである、請求項1に記載のセルロースナノファイバーの製造方法。
- 前記カルボキシル基又はアミノ基を有する化合物(C)が、さらに水酸基を有する化合物である、請求項1または2に記載のセルロースナノファイバーの製造方法。
- 請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の製造方法で得られることを特徴とする、セルロースナノファイバー。
- 請求項4に記載のセルロースナノファイバーと、上記変性エポキシ樹脂(A)とを含有することを特徴とする、マスタバッチ。
- 請求項5に記載のマスタバッチと、硬化剤(D)とを含有することを特徴とする、樹脂組成物。
- さらに希釈用樹脂(E)を含有することを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 請求項6または7に記載の樹脂組成物を成形してなる成形体。
