It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrode material capable of obtaining the above and a composite used for the electrode material.
- the present inventor has made a specific amount of a conductive polymer having a nitrogen atom in a porous carbon material and carbon and nitrogen atoms in a spectrum measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
- the present inventors have found that an electric double layer capacitor having excellent cycle characteristics can be obtained by using a composite having a peak area ratio (nitrogen / carbon) in a specific range. That is, the present invention provides the following (1) to (8).
- an electric double layer capacitor having excellent cycle characteristics an electrode material capable of obtaining an electric double layer capacitor, and the like, and a composite used for the electrode material. it can.
- the composite of the present invention is a composite in which 0.5 to 5 parts by mass of a conductive polymer having a nitrogen atom is combined with 100 parts by mass of a porous carbon material.
- XPS also referred to as “XPS spectrum”
- the ratio of nitrogen atom-derived peak area to nitrogen atom-derived peak area (nitrogen / carbon) is 0.005 to 0.005.
- composite generally refers to a composite (two or more combined) that are integrated, but in the present invention, a conductive polymer having a nitrogen atom.
- a conductive polymer having a nitrogen atom Is a state in which at least a part of is bonded to the surface of the porous carbon material and is also adsorbed inside the pores of the porous carbon material (hereinafter also referred to as “complexed state”).
- bonded to the surface of the porous carbon material means a nitrogen atom (amino group or imino group) of the conductive polymer and an acidic group such as a hydroxyl group or a carboxy group of the surface of the porous carbon material.
- the “mass (of the conductive polymer relative to the porous carbon material)” refers to the amount of the conductive polymer constituting the composite.
- the method for measuring the mass for example, it can be calculated from the mass of the porous carbon material before and after the composite, or can be calculated from the charged amount of the conductive polymer with respect to the mass of the porous carbon material. . It can also be detected from the temperature and amount of mass loss by thermal mass measurement (TGA), and can also be calculated from elemental analysis of the complex.
- TGA thermal mass measurement
- the thermal mass measurement can be performed according to JIS K7210: 1999 “Thermogravimetric measurement of plastic”. Specifically, before the test, the porous carbon material is vacuum-dried at 200 ° C.
- the temperature is raised at 20 ° C. per minute while flowing nitrogen at 100 ml / min, and the amount of decomposition can be estimated from 700 ° C.
- some may be carbonized, but the decomposition behavior and carbonization rate differ depending on the type of conductive polymer, so the amount of composite conductive polymer is estimated from that behavior. It is possible.
- estimation from elemental analysis is possible as well.
- XPS spectrum is a spectrum measured using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and “peak area derived from carbon atom” and “peak area derived from nitrogen atom” are measured under the following conditions, respectively. The peak area calculated from the measured spectrum.
- X-ray source Monochromated Al K ⁇ (1486.6 eV) ⁇
- X-ray beam diameter 100 ⁇ m
- X-ray intensity 12.5W
- Pass energy 69eV (common to each element)
- Measurement elements C1s, N1s, O1s
- the conductive polymer has a mass of 0.5 to 5 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the porous carbon material, and in the XPS spectrum, a nitrogen atom relative to a peak area derived from a carbon atom.
- the origin peak area ratio nitrogen / carbon
- a composite electrode material from which an electric double layer capacitor having excellent cycle characteristics can be obtained. This is because the conductive polymer is not localized only on the surface of the porous carbon material and is also present inside the pores of the porous carbon material that is difficult to detect by XPS. This is thought to be because the generation of radicals that react and deactivate each other can be suppressed.
- the mass of the conductive polymer interacts with the acidic functional group present on the surface of the porous carbon material and contributes to the capacitance of the porous carbon material having a diameter of 0.5. Since it is considered that the pores of ⁇ 2 nm are not blocked and the adsorption (uptake) of the supporting salt existing in the electrolyte is not inhibited, 1.0 to 4.5 masses with respect to 100 mass parts of the porous carbon material. Part is preferable, and 1 to 3 parts by mass is more preferable.
- the ratio (nitrogen / carbon) in the XPS spectrum interacts with acidic functional groups present on the surface of the porous carbon material, and does not block the pores of the porous carbon material, for the reason that it is considered that the adsorption (uptake) of the supporting salt present in the electrolyte is not inhibited, 0.01 to 0.03 is preferable, and 0.01 to 0.02 is more preferable.
- the composite of the present invention had a total pore volume of 0.3 to 3.0 cm 3 / g of all pores having a diameter of 0.5 to 100.0 nm measured by the Horvath-Kawazoe method and the BJH method.
- the pore volume ratio (pore volume ratio) of pores having a diameter of 2.0 nm or more and less than 20.0 nm (hereinafter also referred to as “mesopores”) measured by the BJH method is Pores having a diameter of 15 nm or less with respect to the pore volume and having a diameter of 0.5 nm or more and less than 2.0 nm measured by Horvath-Kawazoe method and BJH method (hereinafter also referred to as “micropore”).
- the ratio of the pore volume is preferably 80% or more with respect to the total pore volume.
- the total pore volume and the pore volume ratio of mesopores and micropores satisfy the above-mentioned range, an electric double layer capacitor having high capacitance and better cycle characteristics can be obtained. .
- the “Horvath-Kawazoe method” is a method for calculating the pore volume of small pores having a diameter of 0.5 nm to 1 nm (J. Chem. Eng. Jpn., 1983, Vol. 16, p. 470), the “BJH method” is a method for determining the pore volume distribution with respect to the cylindrical pore diameter (diameter: 1 nm to 100.0 nm) according to the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda standard model (J. Amer). Chem. Soc., 1951, 73, pp. 373-377).
- total pore refers to all pores having a diameter of 0.5 to 100.0 nm
- “total pore volume” refers to the total value of the pore volumes of all pores.
- the conductive polymer used in the production of the composite of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as it is a polymer having a nitrogen atom that exhibits conductivity by introducing a dopant, and is a polymer doped with a dopant.

Abstract
Description
・パスエネルギー:69eV(各元素共通)
