このように、パーセルシェルフはバッテリーや高電圧の補機類から通常の使用空間を隔離する隔離機能を有しているが、車幅方向にわたって水平に置かれ、両端の支持部でのみ支えられるために、パーセルシェルフはある程度の剛性のある板厚と材質で形成されている。
一方、バッテリーの後面を覆うリアカバーは、できるだけ薄くて軽い素材で成形されて軽量化が図られている。
従って、従来のリアカバーはパーセルシェルフに比べると柔らかくて撓みやすくなっていた。
本発明は上記実状に鑑みて成されたもので、その目的は、パーセルシェルフの周部から下方に延びるフランジとバッテリーカバーの上端部との連結作業の作業性を向上させることができる車体後部構造を提供する点にある。
シートバックの後方にバッテリーが搭載され、
前記バッテリーの少なくとも後面を覆うバッテリーカバーが設けられ、
前記シートバックの上端部側から車両後方側に延びて前記バッテリーの上方を覆うパーセルシェルフが設けられ、
前記パーセルシェルフの周部から下方に延びるフランジと前記バッテリーカバーの上端部とが連結部材で連結されている車体後部構造であって、
前記パーセルシェルフのフランジに、前記フランジのフランジ面との間に間隔を空けてリテーナが固定され、
前記フランジとリテーナの間に前記バッテリーカバーの上端部が挿入されて、前記フランジとバッテリーカバーの上端部とリテーナが前記連結部材で連結されている点にある。(請求項1)
前記リテーナが前記パーセルシェルフのフランジのコーナー部に沿うように形成されて前記フランジに固定され、
前記バッテリーカバーの車幅方向の端部は車両前方側に折曲され、
前記バッテリーカバーのコーナー部の上端部が前記パーセルシェルフのフランジのコーナー部とリテーナの間に挿入されていると、次の作用を奏することができる。(請求項2)
前記バッテリーカバーの上端部を前記フランジとリテーナの間にガイドするガイド部が前記リテーナに設けられていると、次の作用を奏することができる。(請求項3)
前記パーセルシェルフの後端部に、バックドアに圧縮されるクッション材が設けられていると、次の作用を奏することができる。(請求項4)
パーセルシェルフの周部から下方に延びるフランジとバッテリーカバーの上端部との連結作業の作業性を向上させることができる車体後部構造を提供することができた。
図1(a)~図1(c),図5に電気自動車の車体後部構造を示してある。この電気自動車はシートバックの後方のフロアパネルに大型のバッテリー1(電池、図5参照)を搭載し、上側の横軸芯O(図5参照)周りに揺動開閉自在なバックドア2を備えている。図1(a)の符号3はリアバンパである。
図2(a),図2(b)に示すように、パーセルシェルフ6は、全周部から下方に延びるフランジ16を備えた横長の長方形のトレイ状に形成され、長手方向及び幅方向(車両前後方向)の中間部が下側に凹の凹部47(図5参照)に構成されている。そして、図5に示すように、このパーセルシェルフ6が車両前後方向でシートバックの上端部の近傍からバックドア2のバックドアトリム7の近傍まで延びている。
バッテリー1の後面を覆う前記リアカバー5は、薄くて軽い素材で成形されて軽量化が図られており、一例として、板厚2mmのPP(ポリプロピレン)材で成形されている。
図2(b),図2(d)に示すように、パーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の後ろ側フランジ16Aと左側フランジ16Bで形成される左側コーナー部16Dの内面16D1(フランジ面に相当)に、この内面16D1との間に間隔(一例として2mm)を空けて帯板状の左側リテーナ21が連結されている。
(1) 図6(a)に示すように、パーセルシェルフ6をバッテリー1の真上から降ろして、
(1a) パーセルシェルフ6の軸受け部14(図6(c)参照)をクォータトリム11の横軸部11Bに上方から嵌合させ、
(1b) リアカバー5のフランジ15の左側コーナー部15Dを、パーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の左側コーナー部16Dと左側リテーナ21との間に挿入するとともに、リアカバー5のフランジ15の右側コーナー部15Eを、パーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の右側コーナー部16Eと右側リテーナ22との間に挿入する。
この場合、上記(1a)と(1b)を同時に行う。
(2a) パーセルシェルフ6の軸受け部14をクォータトリム11の横軸部11Bに車両前方側Fr(又は前上方側)から嵌合させ、
(2b) パーセルシェルフ6を横軸部11Bの軸芯周りに車両後方側Rrに回転させて、リアカバー5のフランジ16の左側コーナー部16Dを、パーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の左側コーナー部16Dと左側リテーナ21との間に挿入するとともに、リアカバー5のフランジ15の右側コーナー部15Eを、パーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の右側コーナー部16Eと右側リテーナ22との間に挿入する。
連結作業の際にリアカバー5のフランジ15がクリップ23に押されてもリアカバー5のフランジ15を左側リテーナ21と右側リテーナ22で受止めることができ、リアカバー5がパーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16から逃げる方向に撓むのを防止することができる。これにより、連結作業の作業性を向上させることができる。
(1) 前記リテーナをパーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の左側コーナー部16D又は右側コーナー部16E以外に、パーセルシェルフ6のフランジ16の後面中央などに設けてあってもよい。
(2) 前記フロントカバー4はリアシートの裏側に隠れるためにリアカバー5に比べて外観を考慮する必要が無く、フロントカバー4側を上側にしてパーセルシェルフ6の上側からとめても良いが、リアカバー5のようにリテーナを設けて、外観をさらに向上させても良い。

- シートバックの後方にバッテリーが搭載され、
前記バッテリーの少なくとも後面を覆うバッテリーカバーが設けられ、
前記シートバックの上端部側から車両後方側に延びて前記バッテリーの上方を覆うパーセルシェルフが設けられ、
前記パーセルシェルフの周部から下方に延びるフランジと前記バッテリーカバーの上端部とが連結部材で連結されている車体後部構造であって、
前記パーセルシェルフのフランジに、前記フランジのフランジ面との間に間隔を空けてリテーナが固定され、
前記フランジとリテーナの間に前記バッテリーカバーの上端部が挿入されて、前記フランジとバッテリーカバーの上端部とリテーナが前記連結部材で連結されている車体後部構造。 - 前記リテーナが前記パーセルシェルフのフランジのコーナー部に沿うように形成されて前記フランジに固定され、
前記バッテリーカバーの車幅方向の端部は車両前方側に折曲され、
前記バッテリーカバーのコーナー部の上端部が前記パーセルシェルフのフランジのコーナー部とリテーナの間に挿入されている請求項1記載の車体後部構造。 - 前記バッテリーカバーの上端部を前記フランジとリテーナの間にガイドするガイド部が前記リテーナに設けられている請求項1又は2記載の車体後部構造。
- 前記パーセルシェルフの後端部に、バックドアに圧縮されるクッション材が設けられている請求項1~3のいずれか一つに記載の車体後部構造。
