Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device on a spinning machine for stretching and compacting a staple fiber bandage, with a drafting system containing an upper apron with an upper apron cage, with a compression zone, with an air-permeable transport means transporting the staple fiber bandage through the compression zone, with one associated with the compression zone and covered by the means of transport a vacuum channel arranged in the suction slot and with a traversing device assigned to the drafting system and which changes the staple fiber structure transversely to its transport direction and to whose traversing drive the vacuum channel is also connected.
