- the invention relates to a ring spinning machine with drafting systems, the drafting rollers of which are mounted in punches and which are followed by compaction devices, each of which has a bottom roller, a top roller pressed against the bottom roller and a flexible compression strap which loops around a suction shoe under suction and one of the rollers , wherein the compression straps have a perforation track and the suction shoe has a suction opening assigned to the perforation track.
- Such a ring spinning machine is known, for example, from DE 197 08 410 A1. It has common drafting systems with, for example, three pairs of drafting rollers and double straps, which deliver stretched fiber slivers to the desired fineness. These drafting systems are preferably followed by pneumatic compaction devices, which have, for example, flexible straps, which wrap around a roller and a suction shoe that is under suction. The straps are provided with a perforation track, which are guided through a suction opening of the suction shoe and are sucked onto the fibers of the fiber slats supplied by the drafting devices with compression. A counter-pressure roller is assigned to the roller wrapped by the perforated strap. The perforated strap can be arranged above or below the plane of the fiber run.

- this solution is limited to very small compaction devices, in particular for short-staple fibrous materials, in which the compression strap is pressed by means of a small pressure roller onto the top roller of the pair of output rollers of the drafting system and can be driven from there.
- the object of the invention was therefore to provide a possibility for upgrading ring spinning machines with compaction devices, in which as little intervention as possible was made in the structure of the drafting units of the ring spinning machines and their warping work is accordingly adversely affected as little as possible.
- the punch can be lengthened by inserting a correspondingly elongated punch or preferably by attaching an extension part containing these bearings. If the - short - upper roller support and loading arm is maintained, a separate loading device is provided for the upper roller of the compacting device.
