Abstract
Un outil à bande rotative de traitement de surface est plus polyvalent que des outils connus, plus efficace tout en étant facile à manier et à entretenir, durable, sûr, compact et économique. La bande sans fin de l'outil a la forme d'un anneau étroit fermé à l'extérieur duquel sont radialement fixés des éléments tels que brosses, grains abrasifs ou produits de polissage. La bande est fixée sur toute sa circonférence sur la circonférence de l'enveloppe axiale d'un seul support rotatif. L'outil, qui convient par exemple pour structurer le bois, traiter le cuir ou dérouiller des profils en acier, peut être une brosse métallique dont les soies métalliques s'étendant radialement vers l'extérieur depuis l'axe de l'outil ou axe de rotation peuvent être par exemple être fixées à intervalles réguliers l'une de l'autre et de manière non-rotative par rapport à leur axe principal, de sorte que les soies agencées les unes derrière les autres dans le sens de la circonférence sont latéralement décalées les unes par rapport aux autres dans le sens axial; les sections terminales des soies peuvent par exemple être légèrement recourbées dans le sens de la circonférence, les extrêmités des soies peuvent être affûtées et le taux d'abrasion peut être sensiblement modifié par un changement du sens de rotation. En agençant par exemple des soies de longueurs différentes dans le sens de la longueur axiale de l'outil, on peut travailler des régions partielles du profil de la surface de barres en n'importe quel matériau ayant une section transversale profilée dans le sens longitudinal.
