DESIGN FOR A LADYS COSTUME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,023, dated January 24, 1888.
Applieallon filed December 9, 1887. Serial No. 257,465. Term of patent 3 years.

Beit known that I, HENRIETTA F. DUKE, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Pattern of a Ladys Costume; and I do hereby declare that the engraved prints ac eompanying this specification convey to any one accustomed to using paper patterns a clear understanding of how a garment made up by the pattern Will appear.
The design shows a round Walking skirt and a close-fitting basque. The skirt displays a kiltplaited panel ou the left-side gore, along front drapery that exhibits a broad revers down its left-side edge, which falls nearly to the edge of the skirt, and plaits in its top and also in its rightside edge, the lower outline being curved, and a full back drapery that falls nearly to the edge at the left side, curves shorter at the right side, where it displays a group of plats near the lower edge, and exhibits two long bournous loops falling over plaits and loopings. The basque extends but a short distance below the waist-line, and displays fronts folding baek iu revers all the Way down over aslightly-longervest that is pointed at the closing, a back that is slightly pointed at the center, a standing collar, and coatsleeves.
