To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ELLEN MORAN, of the (-ity, county, aud State of New York, have invented and produced a new and originel Design for a Pattern of a Ladys Costume; and I do hereby declare that the engraved prints accompanying this specicatioo convey to any one accustomed to using paper patterns a clear understanding of bow a garment made up by the pattern will appear.

The design shows a round walk ingskirt and a polonaise. The skirt displays n kilted drapery reaching to the edge ofthe gores, along oval tablier exhibiting draping plaits in its side edges, und a. full back drapery falling even with the edge of the skirt and displaying bournous loops :1nd backward-turning plaits. The polonaise exhibits elose-tting fronts opening over a. short pointed vest and falling in long' tabs at the sides nearly tothe edge of tbe skirt; n close-fitting basque-back displaying underfolded plaits below the waist line ofthe middle three seams; revers turning from the front edges of the fronts above the waistline, a standing collar, and contsleeves.
