DESIGN FOR A LADYS COSTUME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,289, dated May 1,1888. 'Applinltion file: April 2, 1868. Serial No. 269,350.. Term of patient 3Q years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known; that I, MINXIE B..KEN1,OI the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Pattern of a Ladys Costume; and Ido hereby declare that the engraved prints accompanying this specification convey to any one accustomed to using paper patterns a clear understanding of how a. garment made up by the pattern will appear.
The design shows a basque and a round walking-skirt. The skirt displaysa fiat drapery that exhibits fan-plaits at either side; a full tablier falling straight to the edge in front of the plaits at the left side, and displaying draping-plaits at the belt, a deep looping at the right side, and a curved lower outline; a
full back drapery falling deepestat the center and in jabot folds at the sides below drapingplaits, and displaying plaits at. the top: and loopings at either side oil the center. basqneexhibits surplice fronts opening toward the shoulder overa pointed vest, and displaying fullness at the shoulders and shorbshiirriugs below the waist-line; a close-fitting postilion back that exhibits uuderfolded plaits below the waist-line of its middle three seams; coat-sleeves, and a standing collar rolling over at the top.
