Re it known that I, ET'IA L. JENKINS, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original 5 Design for a Pattern of a Girls Costume; and I do hereby declare that the engraved prints accompanying this speciiication convey to any 011e accustomed to using paper patterns a clear understanding of how a garment made up by the pattern will appear.
rlhe design shows a dress and basque. The dress displays a Waist that exhibits a standing collar, and a skirt exhibiting a broad cluster of side plaits at the center of the front, a boxplait at each side and gathers back of the plaits, and a drapery that appears to extend back ward in ilatcross-plaitsfrom u n derthe b0x plait at each side and fall in a full point nearly to the edge at each side of the center of the back,
the front edges of the points describing a roundingontline. The basque displays short, loose-fitting fronts that are straight across their lower edges and appear to he reversed in lapels at their front edges, w here they Hare to the tops of the shoulders; a close-fitting back that displays an opening at the center below the Waistline,straight lower edges, and curved side edges; a turn-down collar that appears to form notches with the lapels, and coat-sleeves.
