The basque displays jacketfronts with folded back lapels nearly to the waist-line and exhibits a full vest between 15 them, a close-fitting back that displays under folded plaits below the waist-line of the mid dle three seams, a standing collar crossing the vest, a standing collar that exhibits its ends lapped upon the vest-eollar, a turn-over collar 20 falling from its upper edge, and eoatsleeves.
The lower outline of the vest describes a point at the center of the front, and that of the basque describes high short sides and a square postilion back. The skirt exhibits a deep front drapery of rounded outline descending quite near the edge at the center and much shorter at the sides, the drapery displaying draping plaits below the belt-line in numerous folds, a back drapery that exhibits plaits which flare in fan fashion at theleftside,wl1ere the drapery falls to the edge of the skirt, and then describes a rounding outline toward the right side, where it is lifted high.
