Application filed November 10, 1887. Serial No.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it kHOWnl that I, HENRIETTA E; DUKE, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Pattern of a Ladys Evening Waist; and I do hereby declarethat the engraved prints accompanying this specification convey to any one accustomed to using paper patterns a clear understanding of how a garment made up by the pattern will appear.
The design shows close-fitting fronts that display a V-shaped neck; a plaited ornament along the neck at either side of the front; a plain ornament passing along the back and lower edges of each plaited ornament, and shaping a point at its lower back and either side of the front corner and an ornamental lap down the closing; a close-fitting back that exhibits an underfolded box-plait below the 254,374. Term of patent 35 years.
waistline of its center seam, and a pointed ornament that follows the outline of the neck and reaches nearly half-way to thewaist-linle; elbow-sleeves that exhibit an opening nearly to the top, and then covered reverse folding over from the edges of the opening. The lower outline describes a point at the center of the front, a high arch at thesides, and a short postilion at the back.
What I claim as my invention, and desireto secure by LettersPatent, is-
