H. CLAY BASGOM, OF TROY, AND TOBIAS S. IIEISTER, OF LANSINGBURG, ASSIGNORS TO THE N. SVEDDER PATTERN WORKS, BASOOM, GALBRAITII & 00., OF TROY, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPEOIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,108, dated January 11, 1881.
Application filed November 24, 1880. Term of patent 3. years.
I all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, H. OLAY BASCOM, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and TOBIAS S. HEIS- TER, of the village of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented a new and original Design for Cottage-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying print, cut, or engraving of a stove having our said new design.
The design for the urn consists ot'the body A, having lateral upright sides, conveXly-curved top, downwardly-extending contracted bot- 5 tom part, b, and the compound scroll-and-leaf ornament c on the face, in combination with the side-scroll brackets d, surmounted by representations of birds 0, and the arched top f, with central cap, f, all shaped and arranged as represented in the accompanying cut.
The design for the top plate, B, consists of the outer ornamented molding, g, the inner ornamented molding, g, and the intervening oblong convexly curved surface h, having thereon the lyre-shaped end ornament, 'i, the middle concavely and angnlarly edged mat, j, with the compound flowerand-vinelet ornament j thereon. and the intermediate leaflet ornaments k, each shaped and all arranged together substantially as shown in the accompanying engraving.
The design of the compound panel ornament 0 consists of the representation of the cut-stone arch Z, surmounted by the ornamental gable top I and supported by the two columns at, having couchant lions m at the base, and between said arch and columns a palm-tree, a, and perspective street View 0, all shaped, placed, and combined as shown in the accompanying print.
The design for the front panel, I), is composed of the compound middle ornament, 0, on the surface E, and the compound borderinolding F, having the inner scallop-edging, p, and outer matted portion, p, with the series of ornaments p thereon, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid cut.
The design for the lower front door or plate.
G, consists of the upper section, II, curved o convexly upward, and having the apertures 11 and intermediate lyrelilre ornaments q in and on the panel-surface g bordered by the inner matted band, r, and outer diam ond-ornamen ted band, r, in combination with the lower sec 5 tion, I, having the apertures s, with intermediate and lateral ornaments s, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the legs consists of the lyreshaped ornament t on the swelling part it, bordered laterally by the scroll ornaments c and along the top by the pending angular bar 10, all shaped, positioned, and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid print. 6
