SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,090, dated January 4, 1881.
Application filed November 24, 1880. Term of patent 3} years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, H. CLAY BASCOM and CYRUS A. HoDGEs, each of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented certain Improvements in Designs for Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving ofa stove having our said new design. It The design for the legs consists of the erossed bars a a, connected at top by the centrally-arched and laterally-straight bars I), the sprig and flower ornament c on the surface, inelosed by the bars a a and b, and the orna- 1 ment d pendent from the lower angle of the crossed bars, all shaped and disposed on the swelling surface 0 as represented in the accompanying print.
The design for the base-section A consists of the series of alternating ornamentsfand g on a raised molding, g, forming the inner border, the flat surface It, the straight flat edged parts h, longer intermediate reverselycurved edge parts W, and the ornamental front valance part 1', all shaped and arranged in combination so as to appear as represented in the accompanying engraving.
The design for the upper portion, B, of the door-frames is composed of the compound 0 sprig ornamentj on the ground j, having the bottom series of arch'connected pendants k, and bordered at top bya bead-molding having the central arch, 6, straight parts Z, coneaves and straightparts P, with scroll ornaments 5 m thereon, all shaped and combined as represented in the accompanying print.
The design for the end door, (J, consists of the rectangular upper section, I), having the peculiar compound ornament n on the middle part of the panel 0, the zigzag fillets p across the corners, with the inner and outer corner ornaments, p 10 and the sprig ornaments q along the sides, in combination with the proiecting oblong lower section, E, having the 5 panel r, with the corner ornaments 'r, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid cut.
The design for the front door, F, consists of the upper panel, G, having the series of four apertures, s, with straight sides and hot toms and angular tops, and intermediate and lateral sub-panels, having angular fillet-tops and compound ornaments s, the middle band, H, and the lower panel, I, having therein the two apertures t, with straight bottoms and 5 sides and angular tops, and the intervening and lateral top and bottom ornaments, a u, all shaped and combined so as to appear as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the cover J is composed of the vertically-concave part c, having the reversely-curved and angular fillet-border o, the vertically convex lower part, in, having the series of alternate upwardly-pointing ornaments w 10 along its outer border, and the interinediate curved surface m, bordered along its inner edge by the fillet c, and having along its outer edge the compound border, consist ing of the alternately arched and straight fillet parts :1 y, with the ornaments z 2 along the inner and outer edges of the straight fillet parts and the ornaments 2 under the arched parts, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid print.

What we claim as our invention is 1. The design for the legs, composed of the parts a a, 11,0, 01, and c, all shaped and combined as set forth.
2. The design for the base-section A, composed of the parts f g g, h h h, and i, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
3. The design for the upper portion, B, of the door-frames, composed of the parts j 7", 1:, Z Z l l, and m, all shaped and combined as set forth.
4. The design for the end door, 0, consisting of the parts D n 0 pp p q and E N", all shaped and combined as described. 0
5. The design for the front door, F, composed of the parts G s s, H, and I t a u, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
6. The design for the cover J, composed of the parts 1 '0 w w 10 and m y y z z 2 all 5 shaped and arranged together as described.
