DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
To all whom t't may concern:
Be it known that we, H. CLAY BASCOM and OYRUS A. HODGES, each of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and Tomas S. HEisTEE, otI the village of Lansiugburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented a new and original Design for Magazine-Stoves, of which the following is a specitication, reference being had to the ac- 10 companying cut, print, or engraving of a stove having our said new design.
The design for the urn consists of the pearform body A, having thereon the compound ornament b, the side scroll-form handles, c c,
and the crest d, all shaped, proportioned, and
combined as represented in the accompanying print.
The design for the panel-ornament B consists of the representation of a gnitaror banjo,
c, and sheet-music j', with background ornaments g h, and a surrounding border, i, all shaped, placed, and combined so as to present substantially the appearance represented in the accompanying engraving.
The design for the borders of the panels C of the upper section consists of the outer ornamented mat, j, the rectangularly-recessed inner ornamentation, k, and the sub-circular radiating sets of ornaments l at the four corners, each composed and shaped and all arranged together as shown in the accompanying cut.
. The design for the upper mica-light doors D consists of the upper row oftwo apertures,
'm m, each havinga straight bottom, n, and sides n', truncate lower corners, o, and each top in the form of two reverse curves, p p, forming an upwardly-pointing angle, q, in the middle, in combination with the lower row of 4o three light-apertures, r s r, of which oni)7 the middle one, s, has a form like the two upper apertures, m m, While the two side apertures, 'r r, each have the top, sides, and bottom straight and the corners truncate, and the whole being proportioned and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid engraving. Y
The design for the legs consists of the downwardly-tapering middle upper section, t, having a matted ground with the peculiar conipound ornament n thereon, and concavelycurved fillet-edges c, and the lateral sections w 1c, inclined to the section t, all shaped, proportioned, and combined as shown in the a1`oresaid print.
What we claim as our invention is- 1. The design for the urn, composed of the parts A b c d, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
2. The design for the panel-ornament Il, 6o composed of the parts cfg hy fi, all shaped, placed, and combined as set forth.
3. The design for the borders of the panels O, composed of the partsj lc l, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
4. The design for the upper mica-lightdoors,
D, composed of the upper row of apertures, m m,`ha\'ing their bottoms n, sides n', corners o, and topsp gp all shaped as shown and described, in combination with the lower row of 7o apertures, ot which the middle one, s, is like those in the upper row, and the others, r r, have all their sides straight and corners truucate, and the whole being arranged in combination as shown.
5. The design for the legs, composed of the parts t u o fw, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
