Description
FREMGANGSMÅTE OG APPARAT FOR Å EKSPANDERE EN UTBEDRINGSFORING
Denne oppfinnelse vedrører et skrev, og særlig et skrev som skal brukes til selektivt å isolere et røravsnitt. Oppfinnelsen vedrører også en fremgangsmåte for å isolere et rør-avsnitt .
Innenfor lete- og produksjonsindustrien for olje og gass opprettes atkomst til underjordiske hydrokarbonførende formasjoner via brønnhull foret med foringsrør. Det nedre avsnitt av et borehull som skjærer den hydrokarbonførende formasjon, er typisk foret med perforert "forlengningsrør", hvor olje og gass strømmer inn i borehullet gjennom perforeringene. Plas-seringen av perforeringene er bestemt på forhånd på grunnlag av undersøkelser for å sikre at bare utvalgte formasjoner står i fluidforbindelse med borehullet. Under disse omstendigheter er det kjent å kjøre ned skrev i foringsrøret, idet disse skrev er rør-seksjoner med tetningsanordninger i hver ende. Et skrev kan plasseres inne i det forlengningsrøravsnittet som skjærer problemformasjonen, og tetningene deretter settes for å isolere forlengningsrøravsnittet mellom tetningene. Eksisterende skrev er imidlertid problematiske å sette, og nødvendigheten av å gi rom for tetninger og en settemekanisme resulterer i et betydelig tap av borehullstverrsnitt, hvilket reduserer brønnens produksjonskapasitet og også gjør det vanskeligere å få tilgang til brønnavsnittet nedenfor skrevet.
Fra amerikansk patent US 5,014,779 er det kjent en fremgangsmåte og en anordning for å ekspandere et korrugert rør ned-førbart i en foret brønn. Fremgangsmåten og anordningen omfatter bruk av en ekspanderingsinnretning i form av en bøyemekahisme som retter ut korrugeringene i røret. Ekspande-rings i nnr et ni ngen i US 5,014,779 er ikke egnet til å ekspandere slette eller jevne rør.
Det er blant formålene med utførelser av den herværende oppfinnelse å tilveiebringe et forbedret skrev som forebygger eller demper ovennevnte vanskeligheter.
Ifølge den herværende oppfinnelse er det tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for å isolere et avsnitt av rør nede i borehullet, hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter nedføring av en lengde av ekspanderbart rør i et rørforet borehull og plassering av det ekspanderbare rør over et røravsnitt som skal isoleres; og deformering av i det minste partier av det ekspanderbare rør for å øke diameteren i nevnte partier til tettende inngrep med røret og for å isolere nevnte avsnitt, idet deformeringen av røret oppnås ved å frembringe plastisk deformasjon ved trykk, hvilken deformasjon skaper en stedfestet rørveggstyk-kelsesreduksjon med en påfølgende rørdiameterøkning.
Ifølge et annet aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse er det tilveiebrakt et apparat til bruk ved isolering av et avsnitt av rørforet borehull hvor apparatet innbefatter: en lengde av ekspanderbart rør; og en ekspanderingsinnretning, hvor eks-panderings innretningen innbefatter et radialt utstrekkbart, roterbart ekspanderingsélement, og hvor ekspanderingsinnretningen kan roteres inne i det ekspanderbare rør med ekspande-ringselementet i rullende kontakt med en indre flate av det ekspanderbare rør for å deformere i det minste partier av det ekspanderbare rør ved plastisk deformasjon ved trykk for å øke diameteren i nevnte partier til tettende inngrep med et røravsnitt som skal isoleres.
Den plastiske deformasjon av det ekspanderbare rør oppnås hensiktsmessig ved rullende ekspandering, dvs. at ekspande-rings innretningen roteres inne i det ekspanderbare rør med et ekspanderingselement i rullende kontakt med en indre flate av det ekspanderbare rør..
Deformeringen av det ekspanderbare rør skaper fortrinnsvis en ringformet utvidelse. Denne ringformede utvidelse kan strekke seg over hele eller et betydelig parti av det ekspanderbare rør eller være begrenset til utvalgte partier av det ekspanderbare rør på hver side av det røravsnitt som skal isoleres. Førstnevnte arrangement vil være sikrere, men ville være vanskeligere å fjerne fra røret.
Det rør som forer borehullet, kan være foringsrør eller for-lengningsrør, eller det kan være et sekundært rør, slik som selve produksjonsrøret plassert inne i et foringsrør- eller forlengningsrøravsnitt.
Det ekspanderbare rør kan omfatte relativt formbare partier svarende til de partier av røret som skal ekspanderes. Disse partier kan være sveist eller på annet vis festet til partier av mindre formbare rør.
Det ekspanderbare rør er innledningsvis fortrinnsvis sylindrisk.
Ekspanderingsinnretningen omfatter fortrinnsvis et legeme som bærer en flerhet av ekspanderingsrulleelementer. Fortrinnsvis kan en flerhet av ekspanderingselementene strekkes ut radialt. Ekspanderingselementene aktiveres fortrinnsvis med fluid, for eksempel kan elementene operativt være tilknyttet et stempel. I én utførelse kan elementene være montert på respektive radialt bevegelige stempler, og i andre utførelser kan elementene ha avsmalnede ender som skal være i inngrep med konuser eller kiler koplet til et aksialt bevegelig stempel .
Det ekspanderbare rør kan bære tetningsbånd på en ytre flate. Disse tetningsbånd kan omfatte i det minste én av en elasto-merisk tetning og et bånd av relativt formbart metall, slik som kopper eller en tinn/bly-legering.
Det ekspanderbare rør kan bære gripebånd på en ytre flate. Gripebåndene kan omfatte relativt harde elementer, slik som kuler, spon eller korn som holdes i en matriks, hvorved elementene biter seg inn i det relativt myke materiale i røret og det ekspanderbare rør ved deformering av det ekspanderbare rør. I andre utførelser kan de relativt harde elementer være i annen form enn bånd.
Disse og andre aspekter ved den herværende oppfinnelse vil nå bli beskrevet som eksempel under henvisning til de medfølgen-de tegninger, hvor: Fig. 1 og 2 er skjematiske snittriss av en operasjon for set-ting av skrev i overensstemmelse med en utførelse av et aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse; og Fig. 3 er et skjematisk snittriss av et skrev i overensstemmelse med en annen utførelse av den herværende oppfinnelse. Det vises først til fig. 1 på tegningene, hvilken illustrerer et skrev 10 i overensstemmelse med en utførelse av den herværende, oppfinnelse plassert i et avsnitt av et boret borehull 12 som er foret med perforert forlengningsrør 14 av stål. Skrevet 10 er blitt ført inn i borehullet 12 og skal benyttes til isolering av et avsnitt av borehullet 12, særlig en spe-siell formasjon 16 som står i fluidforbindelse med borehullet via perforeringer 18 i et avsnitt av forlengningsrøret 14. Skrevet kjøres inn i borehullet 12 på en verktøystreng 26 og er montert på strengen 26 via en ekspanderingsinnretning 28

samvirker med rullenes 32 avsmalnede ender. Påføring av for-høyet fluidtrykk via verktøystrengen 26 tvinger således rullene 32 radialt utover. Skjærepinner 34 kopler skrevet 10 til ekspanderingsinnretningens legeme 30.
I bruk kjøres skrevet inn i borehullet 12 på verktøystrengen 26 og plasseres over gruppen av perforeringer 18 som skal av-stenges fra borehullet. Deretter blir ekspanderingsinnretningen 28 påført trykk for å aktivere rullene 32; en innledningsvis påføring av forhøyet trykk påvirker rullene 32 til å strekkes ut radialt og deformerer røret 20 mot en trekantet form, slik at områdene av rør 20 i tilstøting til rullene 32 skyves til kontakt med den indre flate av forlengningsrøret 14. Denne innledningsvise kontakt er tilstrekkelig til å hindre innbyrdes rotasjon mellom skrevet 10 og forlengnings-røret 14, slik at når strengen 26 og ekspanderingsinnretningen 28 roteres fra overflaten, holdes skrevet 10 i forhold til forlengningsrøret 14 og pinnene 34 brytes. Ekspanderingsinnretningen 28 roterer deretter inne i skrevet 10 med rullene 32 i rullende kontakt med den indre vegg av røret 20. Rullene 32 presses utover og trykker rørveggen stadig mer sammen for å skape en stedfestet veggtykkelsesreduksjon og en tilsvaren-de veggdiameterøkning. Det blir således opprettet et ringformet avsnitt med økt rørdiameter 36 ved rørets endeavsnitt 20a, som vist på fig. 2, hvorved det opprettes en presspas-ning med det omsluttende forlengningsrør 14, idet tetnings-båndene 22 deformeres for å danne en fluidtett tetning mellom det ekspanderte rør 36 og forlengningsrøret 14. Det harde materiale i gripebåndene 23 bidrar også til å kile røravsnittet 36 fast til forlengningsrøret 14. Det kan forekomme en grad av elastisk og endog plastisk deformering i forlengningsrøret 14, hvilket vil tjene til å tilveiebringe en sikrere plassering av skrevet 10.
Etter opprettelse av den ringformede utvidelse 36 reduseres trykket i verktøystrengen 26, slik at rullene 32 kan trekke seg tilbake. Ekspanderingsinnretningen 28 føres deretter frem mot den nedre ende av skrevet 10 og går i inngrep med en stopper 38 tilveiebrakt på den nedre ende av røret 20. Trykket i verktøystrengen økes deretter én gang til for å aktivere rullene 32, og ekspanderingsinnretningen 28 roteres for å opprette et andre ringformet avsnitt med økt diameter 40.
Ekspanderingsinnretningen 28 kan deretter deaktiveres og hen-tes ut fra borehullet, idet skrevet 10 etterlates låst på plass i borehullet og tjener til å isolere formasjonen 16 fra borehullet.
For å fjerne skrevet 10 freses de låsende og tettende avsnitt 36, 40 ut, og det gjenværende røravsnitt fjernes deretter.
I andre utførelser kan avsnittene 36, 40 med økt diameter ut-formes samtidig ved at det tilveiebringes to ekspanderings-innretninger, én plassert i hver ende av skrevet.
Det vises nå til tegningenes fig. 3 som illustrerer et perma-nent skrev 50 i overensstemmelse med en annen utførelse av oppfinnelsen låst og tettet i et borehull 52. Skrevet 50 er plassert på en i det vesentlige lignende måte som skrevet 10 beskrevet ovenfor, men et skrevrør 54 er blitt deformert langs hele sin lengde slik at det er et mye større kontaktom-råde mellom røret 54 og et omliggende forlengningsrør 56, og et mindre tap i tverrsnitt i forlengningsrøret 56 gjennom tilveiebringelsen av skrevet 50.
Fagfolk på området vil erkjenne at de ovenfor beskrevne utfø-relser av den herværende oppfinnelse tilveiebringer skrev som er forholdsvis enkle å utforme og installere, og som unngår mange av problemene knyttet til tidligere teknikks skrev som oppviser glideelementer og elastomere tetninger som kan til-føres energi.
Fagfolk på området vil også erkjenne at utførelsene beskrevet i dette skrift bare er eksempler, og at ulike modifiseringer og forbedringer kan foretas på dem uten at man går ut over rammen av den herværende oppfinnelse. For eksempel er de ovenfor beskrevne utførelser vist idet de isolerer forma-sjonsavsnitt fra et borehull foret med perforert forleng-nings rør. I andre utførelser kan skrevet brukes for å repare-re skadet rør, herunder stigerør, foringsrør, forlengningsrør eller produksjonsrør. Skrevet kan føres inn med hvilken som helst egnet form for verktøystreng, innbefattet bærere på trommel slik som kveilrør, når skrevet skal tilveiebringes i kombinasjon med en brønnmotor for å rotere ekspanderingsinnretningen 28.
Claims (20)
1. Fremgangsmåte for å isolere et avsnitt av rør {14, 56) nede i et. borehull (12, 52), hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter nedføring av en lengde av ekspanderbart rør (20, 54) i et rørforet borehull (12, 52) og plassering ay det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) over et røravsnitt som skal isoleres; og deformering av i det minste partier av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) for å øke diameteren i nevnte partier til tettende inngrep med rø-ret (14, 56) og for å isolere nevnte avsnitt, karakterisert ved at def ormeringen av røret (20, 54) oppnås ved å frembringe plastisk deformasjon ved trykk, hvilken deformasjon skaper en stedfestet rørveggstykkelsesreduksjon med en påfølgende rørdiameterøkning.
2. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, karakterisert ved at nevnte plastiske deformasjon oppnås ved rullende ekspansjon hvilket vil si at en ekspande-rings innretning (28) roteres inne i det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) med et ekspanderingselement (32) i rullende kontakt med en indre flate av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54).
3. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, karakterisert ved at deformeringen av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) skaper en ringformet utvidelse (36, 40).
4. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 2, karakterisert ved at den ringformede utvidelse (36, 40) strekker seg over et betydelig parti av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54).
5. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 3, karakterisert ved at den ringformede utvidelse (36, 40) strekker seg over utvalgte partier av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) på hver side av det røravsnitt som skal isoleres .
6. Fremgangsmåte, ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregåen-de krav, karakterisert ved at det ekspanderbare rør {20, 54) innbefatter relativt formbare partier {20a, 20b) svarende til de rørpartier som skal ekspanderes.
7. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregåen-de krav, karakterisert ved at det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) innledningsvis er sylindrisk.
8. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregåen-de krav, karakterisert ved at ekspan-derings innretningen (28) omfatter et legeme (30) som har en flerhet av ekspanderingsrulleelementer (32).

Apparat til bruk ved isolering av et avsnitt av rørfo-ret borehull (12, 52) hvor apparatet innbefatter: én lengde av ekspanderbart rør (20, 54); og en ekspanderingsinnretning (28), karakterisert ved at ekspanderingsinnretningen (28) innbefatter et radialt utstrekkbart, roterbart ekspanderingselement (32), og at ekspanderingsinnretningen (28) kan roteres inne i det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) med ekspanderingsele-mentet (32) i rullende kontakt med en indre flate av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) for å deformere i det minste partier (36, 4 0) av det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) ved plastisk deformasjon ved trykk for å øke diameteren i nevnte partier (36, 40) til tettende inngrep med et røravsnitt som skal isoleres.

19. Apparat ifølge hvilket som helst av kravene 12 til 18, karakterisert ved at det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) bærer gripebånd (23) på en ytre flate.
20. Apparat ifølge krav 19, karakterisert ved at gripebåndene (23) omfatter relativt harde elementer som holdes i en matriks, hvorved elementene biter seg inn i det relativt myke materiale i røret og det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) når det ekspanderbare rør (20, 54) deformeres.
