Description
PROFILFORMING
Denne oppfinnelse vedrører profilforming nede i hull, og særlig forming eller tilveiebringelse av profiler i forede borehull. Det beskrives også skjæring eller på annet vis forming av foringsrør.
I lete- og produksjonsindustrien for olje og gass, opprettes tilgang til underjordiske hydrokarbonførende formasjoner via borede borehull foret med stålrør, kjent som foringsrør. Foringsrøret vil ofte definere profiler, typiske ringformede utsparinger eller ringformede innsnevringer for å lette plasseringen og monteringen av verktøyer og innretninger i borehullet. Fra det amerikanske patentskriftet US 4,997,320 er det kjent en anordning og en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil i et røravsnitt, omfattende bruk av en ekspanderingsinnretning med et radialt utskyvbart ekspanderingselement for deformering av røret. US 4,997,320 beskriver et håndholdt og håndoperert verktøy for tildannelse av en ekstern profil eller vulst i nærheten av en ende av et rør for å tillate røret å bli forbundet eller koplet sammen med en annen rørlengde. US 4,997,320 tilveiebringer ingen fremgangsmåte som er rettet mot tildannelse av en innvendig profil i et rør som kan benyttes til å lokalisere et nedihullsverktøy. Det er blant formålene med utførelser av oppfinnelsen å fore-bygge og dempe ovennevnte vanskeligheter og ulemper.
Ifølge den herværende oppfinnelse er det tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for å forme en verktøyplasseringsprofil i et røravsnitt hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter: tilveiebringelse av en ekspanderingsinnretning som har i det minste ett radialt utstrekkbart ekspanderingselement, plassering av innretningen på et forhåndsbestemt sted i et røravsnitt; og utstrekking av elementet for å deformere røret på nevnte sted for å opprette en verktøyplasseringsprofil i dette, slik at et nedhullsverk-tøy deretter kan plasseres i røret i forbindelse med verktøy-plasseringsprof ilen .
Oppfinnelsen gjør forming av en profil på et ønsket sted i et røravsnitt lettere, slik at for eksempel en operatør ikke er tvunget til å benytte forhåndsutformede profiler av bestemt utforming på fastsatte steder i røret.
Profilen kan anta hvilken som helst egnet form, innbefattet én eller flere ringformede utsparinger, én eller flere utsparinger plassert med innbyrdes avstand langs omkretsen, samt et hunngjengeparti. Som sådan kan profilen tillate eller lette plasseringen av verktøyer eller innretninger i røret på profilstedet. Alternativt kan profilen tjene som referansepunkt .
Røret blir fortrinnsvis deformert ved rulleekspansjon, dvs. at et ekspanderingselement roteres inne i røret med en flate i rullende kontakt med en indre flate av røret. Slik rulleekspansjon kan forårsake plastisk trykkdeformering i røret og en stedfestet reduksjon i veggtykkelse, hvilken resulterer i en påfølgende økning i rørdiameter. Hvor røret er innsnevret, for eksempel av ytre rør eller omliggende berg eller sement, kan rørmaterialet alternativt flyte i kraft av den plastiske trykkdeformasjon for å opprette et spor eller opphøyd profil. Rørekspanderingsinnretningen kan ha hvilken som helst egnet form, og ekspanderingselementet kan aktiveres mekanisk eller med fluidtrykk. Ekspanderingselementet er hensiktsmessig i form av en rulle og kan avgrense en opphøyd omkretsribbe eller annen profil for å tilveiebringe et høytrykkskontaktom-råde og for å opprette en profil i røret med en forhåndsbestemt form. Ekspanderingselementet blir fortrinnsvis strakt ut ved påføring av fluidtrykk. I den foretrukne form er ekspanderingselementet i form av en rulle som har en avsmalnet ende og er operativt knyttet til et aksialt bevegelig stempel og kam eller kile, selv om elementet i andre utførelser selv kan avgrense et stempel som er radialt bevegelig som reaksjon på innvendig trykk i ekspanderingsverktøyet. Det er fortrinnsvis tilveiebrakt en flerhet av ekspanderingselementer, og mest fortrinnsvis kan en flerhet av ekspanderingselemen-tene strekkes ut radialt.
Ekspanderingselementet føres fortrinnsvis inn i røret på en kjørestreng, hvilken kan være spolbar, slik som kveilrør. Kjørestrengen kan roteres for å opprette profilen, og det kan være montert en motor i kjørestrengen for å rotere ekspanderingsinnretningen.
Røret kan være i form av et stigerør, slik det benyttes for å forbinde en plattform, rigg eller skip til havs med -en under-sjøisk brønnhodesammenstilling. Alternativt kan røret være i form av borehullsforende rør, slik som foringsrør eller for-lengningsrør, eller det kan være produksjonsrør.
Ifølge et andre aspekt er det tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for å forme en profil i et røravsnitt, hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter deformering av et røravsnitt ved rulleekspansjon for å opprette en profil i røravsnittet.
Ifølge et annet aspekt er det tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil i et røravsnitt, idet fremgangsmåten omfatter: tilveiebringelse av en ring av deformerbart materiale; tilveiebringelse av en ekspanderingsinnret-ning som har i det minste ett radialt utstrekkbart element; plassering av ringen og innretningen på et forhåndsbestemt sted i et røravsnitt; utstrekking av elementet for å deformere ringen, slik at ringen går i inngrep med røret på nevnte sted for å opprette en profil i dette.
Ifølge et ytterligere aspekt er det tilveiebrakt et apparat for å tilveiebringe en profil i et røravsnitt, idet apparatet omfatter: en ring av deformerbart materiale; og en ekspanderingsinnretning som har i det minste ett radialt utstrekkbart element idet innretningen kan plasseres inne i ringen, og elementet kan strekkes ut for å deformere ringen til inngrep med omliggende rør for å opprette en profil i dette.
Disse aspekter byr på fordeler i tillegg til aspektet ved oppfinnelsen beskrevet ovenfor. Ved visse anvendelser kan det være vanskelig å deformere eksisterende rør, hvilket ville være tilfelle ved for eksempel sementert foringsrør av tungt format eller herdet rør, og disse aspekter ved oppfinnelsen forebygger disse vanskeligheter ved at det plasseres en ring i foringsrøret. Videre kan ringen tilveiebringe en innsnev-ring i røret, hvilken kan brukes som en "stopper" for plassering av verktøyer og andre innretninger i røret. Ringen kan være forhåndsutformet til å definere hvilken som helst forhåndsbestemt profil, for eksempel gjenger, en leppe, en utsparing eller en kile.
Ringen og ekspanderingsinnretningen føres fortrinnsvis sammen inn i røret. Mest fordelaktig er ekspanderingselementet profilert for å tilveiebringe feste for ringen.
Ringen deformeres fortrinnsvis for å danne en presspasning med røret, mest fordelaktig ved økning av diameteren i et avsnitt av ringen. Mest fordelaktig blir ringen deformert ved rulleekspansjon, dvs. et ekspanderingselement roteres inne i ringen med en flate i rullende kontakt med en innvendig flate av ringen. Slik rulleekspansjon forårsaker plastisk trykkdeformering eller -flyt i ringen og en stedfestet veggtykkelsesreduksjon, hvilken fører til en ringdiameter-økning.
Ringen kan omfatte et relativt formbart parti som er sveist eller på annet vis forbundet med et relativt uelastisk parti, hvor deformeringen av ringen begrenses til det relativt form-bare parti.
Ringen kan bære gripebånd eller lignende på en ytre flate for å lette sikker plassering i forhold til røret. Gripebåndet/ -båndene kan omfatte relativt harde elementer slik som korn eller kuler utformet av hardt metall slik som wolframkarbid.
Ifølge enda et annet aspekt er det tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil i et røravsnitt, hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter deformering av en materialring ved rulleekspansjon inne i et røravsnitt, slik at ringen går i inngrep med røret på nevnte sted for å opprette en profil i dette.
Ifølge enda et ytterligere aspekt er det tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for å skjære et røravsnitt, idet fremgangsmåten omfatter: tilveiebringelse av en skjæreinnretning som har i det minste ett radialt utstrekkbart, rullende element som avgrenser et opphøyd omkretsparti; plassering av innretningen på et forhåndsbestemt sted i et røravsnitt; utstrekking av elementet for å komme i kontakt med røret på nevnte sted og rotering av innretningen for å deformere røret, idet deforme-ringsgraden er slik at røret skjæres på nevnte sted.
Dette aspekt kan brukes innenfor mange ulike anvendelsesområ-der, for eksempel til å skjære over et stigerør som ikke kan frigjøres fra en brønnhodesammenstilling, eller skjæring av et foringsrør- eller forlengningsrøravsnitt.
Skjæreinnretningen er fortrinnsvis forsynt med en flerhet av rullende elementer, hvilke progressivt trykker sammen rør-veggen og reduserer dennes veggtykkelse.
Den foreliggende oppfinnelse og ovennevnte aspekter vil nå bli beskrevet som eksempel under henvisning til de medføl-gende tegninger, hvor: Fig. 1 er et skjematisk snittriss av et trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å forme en profil i et røravsnitt i overensstemmelse med en utførelse av et aspekt overensstemmelse med en utførelse av et aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse; Fig. 2 og 3 er skjematiske snittriss av trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil i et røravsnitt i overensstemmelse med en utførelse av et annet aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse; Fig. 4, 5 og 6 er skjematiske snittriss av trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil i et rø-ravsnitt i overensstemmelse med en andre utførelse av nevnte andre aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse; og Fig. 7 er et skjematisk snittriss av et trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å skjære rør i overensstemmelse med en utførelse av et ytterligere aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse (på samme ark som fig. 1).
Det vises først til tegningenes fig. 1 som er et skjematisk snittriss av et trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å forme en profil 10 i et avsnitt av borehullsrør 12, i overensstemmelse med en utførelse av et aspekt ved den herværende oppfinnelse. I dette eksempel er røret 12 i form av borehullsforende foringsrør. Profilen 10 er nyttig for plassering av verktøyer og innretninger i røret 12 og er utformet ved bruk av en ekspanderingsinnretning 14 slik det vil bli beskrevet.
Ekspanderingsinnretningen 14 føres inn i røret 12 på en verk-tøystreng 18 og omfatter et legeme 20 som bærer tre radialt utstrekkbare ruller 22 som hver avgrenser en opphøyd sentral ribbe 24. Rullene 22 har avsmalnede ender og er montert på konuser koplet til et stempel som er bevegelig aksialt som reaksjon på trykk påført ekspanderingslegemets 20 indre via verktøystrengen 18.
I bruk føres innretningen 14 inn i røret 12 med rullene 22 i tilbaketrukket stilling. Så snart innretningen 14 befinner seg på et ønsket sted i røret 12, blir den aktivert ved påfø-ring av trykk gjennom strengen 18 for å presse rullene 22 radialt utover. Samtidig blir strengen rotert fra overflaten, eller fra en egnet brønnmotor, slik at rullene 22 er i rullende kontakt med den indre vegg i røret 12 og utsetter rør-veggen for trykk som er tilstrekkelig til å forårsake trykkflyt og en stedfestet veggtykkelsesreduksjon. Denne påvirker i sin tur rørets diameter til å øke, og oppretter profilen 10.
Profiler kan tilveiebringes på hvilket som helst sted i røret 12 som kan gi rom for den nødvendige deformering. I noen si-tuasjoner kan det imidlertid være vanskelig å opprette den nødvendige deformering; sementert foringsrør av tungt format kan være vanskelig å deformere i noen betydelig utstrekning. I dette tilfelle kan det tilveiebringes en profil i røret, slik det nå vil bli beskrevet under henvisning til fig. 2 og 3 på tegningene.
I andre utførelser av dette aspekt ved oppfinnelsen, særlig når røret 12 er sperret inne i en boring eller annet rør
eller av omliggende berg eller sement, hvor det ikke er mulig for rørdiameteren å ekspandere, er deformeringsmekanismen noe annerledes ved at materialet i det rør som utsettes for plastisk trykkdeformering eller flyt, vil være tilbøyelig til å
flyte for å opprette profilen, uten at det opprettes en mot-svarende "utbuling" i rørets yttervegg.
Fig. 2 er et skjematisk snittriss av et trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil 30 et røravsnitt 32. Profilen 3 0 er utformet i en ring 34 som er plassert i røret 32, som beskrevet nedenfor, ved bruk av en ekspanderingsinnret- ning 36 som er generelt lik innretningen 14 beskrevet ovenfor.
Ringen 34 er innledningsvis generelt sylindrisk og omfatter et relativt formbart forankringsparti 34a som bærer gripebånd av wolframkarbidsppn 38 på sin ytre flate. Forankringspartiet 34a er sveist på et parti 34b av hardere materiale som avgrenser profilen 30.
I bruk føres ringen 34 inn i røret 32 med ekspanderingsinnretningen 36 plassert i forankringspartiet 34a. Når det ønskede sted nås, blir ekspanderingsinnretningens ruller 40 .først strakt ut for å deformere forankringspartiet 34a til en generelt trekantet form, slik at partiets 34a områder som motsvarer rullenes plasseringssteder, skyves til kontakt med rørveggen. Slik kontakt hindrer relativ rotasjon av ringen 34 i forhold til røret 32. Innretningen 40 blir deretter rotert i forhold til ringen 34 og røret 32. På en noe lignende måte som røret 12 i den først beskrevne utførelse, blir deretter forankringspartiet 34a deformert ved trykkflyt og således ut-videt i omkretsretningen for å opprette et ringformet press-pasningsområde med røret 32. Ekspanderingsinnretningen 36 trekkes deretter tilbake og etterlater ringen 34 låst i røret 32, som illustrert på fig. 3, og profilen 30 klar til for eksempel å plassere og gi feste for en ventil eller lignende.
Det vises nå til fig. 4, 5 og 6 på tegningene, hvilke illust-rerer trinnene i en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en profil 60 i et røravsnitt 62. Profilen 60 i form av en borings-innsnevring eller referansepunkt, er tilveiebrakt ved en ring 64 av ekspanderbart metall. Ringen 64 settes ved bruk av en ekspanderingsinnretning 66 lignende den beskrevet under henvisning til fig. 2 og, for korthets skyld, vil setteoperasjo-nen ikke bli beskrevet mer inngående. Ringen 64er imidlertid relativt kort, og faktisk kortere i lengde enn ekspanderings-rullene 68. Dette tillater tilveiebringelse av et forenklet ringmonteringsarrangement. Særlig er rullene 68 profilert, idet hver avgrenser en sentral utsparing 70 for å motta den udeformerte ring 64. Idet det ønskede sted for ringen nås, blir rullene 68 aktivert og deformerer ringen 64 til inngrep med røret 62, og ekspanderingsinnretningen 66 blir deretter rotert i forhold til ringen 64 og røret 62 for progressivt å deformere ringen 64 for opprettelse av den ønskede presspasning med røret 62. Rullene 68 trekkes deretter tilbake, og ekspanderingsinnretningen 66 hentes ut fra røret 62.
Det vises nå til fig. 7 på tegningene, hvilken er et skjematisk snittriss av et trinn i en fremgangsmåte for å skjære rør 50. Fremgangsmåten benytter en skjæreinnretning 52 av lignende form som ekspanderingsinnretningene 14, 36 beskrevet ovenfor, bortsett fra tilveiebringelsen av en mer uttalt og herdet ribbe 54 på hver rulle 56.
I bruk føres skjæreinnretningen 52 inn i røret til det ønskede sted og aktiviseres gjennom påføring av fluidtrykk via den bærende verktøystreng 58 og blir samtidig rotert. Dette strekker ut rullene 56 og presser ribbene 54 inn i rullende kontakt med røret 50. De høye trykkrefter som skapes ved det lille kontaktareal mellom ribbene 54 og røret 50, fører til trykkflyt i røret 50 og stedfestet reduksjon i rørets veggtykkelse. Den progressive veggtykkelsesreduksjon fører til slutt til at røret skjæres over.
Oppførselen til materialet i røret 50 som utsettes for plastisk trykkdeformering, kan variere avhengig av rørplasse-ringen. Hvor røret 50 hemmes, for eksempel inne i et ytre rør, og rørets diameter ikke kan øke fritt, vil materialet i røret, typisk stål, flyte bort fra området som utsettes for høyest trykk. Med egnet ruileutforming er det derfor mulig å skjære det indre rør som er plassert inne i et ytre rør med større diameter, eller rør plassert inne i en innretning eller et verktøy.
Som det vil være innlysende for fagfolk på området, har denne evne til å skjære rør nede i borehull mange anvendelser.
Claims (15)
1. Fremgangsmåte for å forme en verktøyplasseringsprofil (10, 30, 60) i et røravsnitt hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter: tilveiebringelse av en ekspanderingsinnretning (14, 36, 66) som har i det minste ett radialt utstrekkbart ekspanderingselement (22, 40, 68), plassering av innretningen på et forhåndsbestemt sted i et røravsnitt (12, 32, 62); og utstrekking av ekspanderingsinnretningen (14, 36, 66) for å deformere røret (12, 32, 36) på nevnte sted for å opprette en verktøyplasseringsprofil (10, 30, 60) i dette,karakterisert vedat et nedihullsverktøy deretter plasseres i røret i forbindelse med verktøyplasseringsprofilen (10, 30, 60).
2. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1,karakterisertved at røret er ett av et stigerør og borehullsrør (12, 32, 62) .
3. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 2,karakterisertved at røret er et boringsforende foringsrør.
4. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, 2 eller 3,karakterisert vedat den videre omfatter plassering av et verktøy i røret (12, 32, 62) i forbindelse med verktøyplasseringsprofilen (10, 30, 60).
5. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, 2, 3 eller 4,karakterisert vedat verktøyplasseringsprof ilen (10, 30, 60) er i form av i det minste én ringformet utsparing.
6. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, 2, 3, 4 eller 5,karakterisert vedat røret (12, 32, 62) deformeres ved rulleekspansjon, idet et ekspanderingselement (22, 40, 68) roteres inne i røret med en flate i rullende kontakt med en innvendig flate av røret.
7. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 eller 6,karakterisert vedat røret (12, 32, 62) deformeres ved plastisk trykkdeformering, hvilken frem-bringer en stedfestet veggtykkelsesreduksjon og en påfølgende økning i rørdiameter.
8. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 eller 7,karakterisert vedat røret (12, 32, 62) deformeres ved plastisk trykkdeformering, hvilken frem-bringer flyt i veggmateriale for å opprette verktøyplas-seringsprof ilen (10, 30, 60) .
9. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregående krav,karakterisert, ved at ekspanderingselementet er i form av en rulle (22, 40, 68).
10. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 9,karakterisertved at rullen (22, 40, 68) avgrenser et opphøyd omkretsparti (24) for å tilveiebringe et høytrykkskontakt-areal og for å opprette en verktøyplasseringsprofil (10, 30, 60) i røret med en forhåndsbestemt form.
11. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregående krav,karakterisert vedat ekspanderingselementet (22, 40, 68) strekkes ut gjennom påføring av fluidtrykk.
12. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregående krav,karakterisert vedat det tilveiebringes en flerhet av radialt utstrekkbare ekspanderingselementer (22, 40, 68).
13. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregående krav,karakterisert vedat ekspanderingselementet (22, 40, 68) føres inn i røret (12, 32, 62) på en kjørestreng (18, 58).
14. Fremgangsmåte ifølge krav 13,karakterisertved at ekspanderingselementet (22, 40, 68) føres inn i boringen på en spolbar kjørestreng.
15. Fremgangsmåte ifølge hvilket som helst av de foregående krav,karakterisert vedat ekspanderingsinnretningen (14, 36, 66) roteres for å opprette verk-tøyplasseringsprof ilen (10, 30, 60).
