Det er beskrevet en begroingshindrende eller begroingsfiigivende kondensasjonsherdende organopolysiloksansammensetning som omfatter (A) et diorganopolysiloksan som har minst to sihsiumatom-bundede hydroksyl- og/eller hydrolyserbare grupper i et molekyl, (B) et silan som har minst to hydrolyserbare grupper i et molekyl og/eller et partielt hydrolytisk kondensat derav, og (C) en ionisk væske, typisk et smeltet salt. Sammensetningen herder på en undervannsstruktur for å danne et belegg som er ikke-toksisk, ikke nedbrytende for miljøet og som er effektivt for å forhindre at akvatiske organismer avsettes og vokser derpå over en lang tid.
