Abstract
Un cojinete libre de plomo incluye una capa de cojinete de metal en polvo en matriz de bronce unida a un revestido de acero completamente densificado. El material de cojinete tiene aproximadamente de 8 a 12% en peso de estano, aproximadamente de 1 a menos de 5% en peso de bismuto, y aproximadamente de .03 a .08% en peso de fosforo, con el resto siendo de cobre. El estano soluble en el cobre para producir la matriz de bronce, y el bismuto existe como islas no disueltas finamente dispersas a traves de la matriz. Tales cojinetes exhiben propiedades fisicas comparables o mejores que aquellas de los cojinetes de bronce plomoso tradicionales y propiedades de desgaste y agarrotamiento mejoradas.
