Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a double layer sliding member with greatly improved lubricity, wear resistance and strength, by forming a sintered alloy layer of specified composition containing tin, Ni, phosphorus, graphite, copper, etc., on a thin steel sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A double layer sliding member is constituted by forming a sintered alloy layer 1 consisting of, by weight percentage, 4W10% tin, 4W10% Ni, 0.5W4% phosphorus, 3W10% graphite, and the balance of copper on the surface of a thin steel sheet 2. As a result, the lubricity and wear resistance of said member are greatly improved. Also by integrally joining said double layer steel sheet with a thick steel plate 4 by way of a separately prepared copper alloy thin sheet 3, the pressure resistance of the sintered alloy layer may be improved enough to be applicable under impact load and heavy load, so that it may be also used oil-filled sliding member.
