Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a sliding material having superior fatigue and wear resistances under the conditions of high-load and high-speed sliding by laminating a sintered Cu alloy contg. Pb, Sn, Ni and Sb on the surface of the steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: Mixed powder having a composition consisting of 8W20% Pb, 4W10wt% Sn, 1'5% Ni, 0.5W3% Sb (Sn+Ni+Sn=5.5W15%) and the balance Cu is spread on a steel plate in 1W2mm thickness, presintered at 750W800°C in a reducing atmosphere, and pressed with a press or a roll to collapse voids existing in the presintered layer. The layer is then sintered at 700W750°C to laminate a sintered alloy layer having ≤0.5mm thickness on the backing steel plate as one body.
