Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a sliding member having a good resistance against fatigue and abrasion under high-load, high-speed sliding condition by laminating on the surface of steel plate a sintered product essentially consisting of Cu and including a specific amount of Pb, Sn, Ni, and Sb.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a steel plate is laminated with a sintered alloy 0.5mm or less in thickness consisting of Pb; 8W20wt%, Sn; 4W10wt%, Ni; 1W 5wt%, Sb; 0.5W3wt% (where the total of Ni and Sb is controlled to 5.5W15wt% or less), the remaining being Cu, and both are integrated into a body. The formed product has a good resistance against fatigue and abrasion under high-load high- speed sliding condition and thus suited for sliding material such as automobile engine bearing.
