Abstract
Un proceso de depuración del CO2 de la amina utiliza una mezcla absorbente que consiste de un sorbente de CO2 a partir de alcanolamina en combinación con una base no nucleofílica. La alcanolamina tiene sitios de oxígeno y nitrógeno capaces de atacar nucleofílicamente en el átomo de carbono del CO2. La adición nucleofílica es promovida en presencia de una base relativamente muy fuerte no nucleofílica, que actúa como un aceptor del protón, el cual puede actuar como un solvente para la alcanolamina, puede promover la reacción con el CO2 en cada uno del o los grupos amino nucleofílicos e hidroxilo de las alcanolaminas. En el caso de alcanolaminas amino primarias, el CO2 se puede tomar por una reacción de doble carboxilación en la cual dos moles de CO2 se toman por la reacción de los grupos amina primarios.
